  1. Saw this on facebook and could not help laughing! How not to wear your Disney T-shirt
  2. Congrats Cedar Point! Also found a cool picture
  3. Yeah I think they will be finished today ahead of schedule. Looks like only 2 or 3 more pieces of track left. Also look at how the station is progressing. cp beach webcam 2/27/13 11:24 AM EST
  4. Yes can we name the train Mr. Burns.
  5. So this is the full size image http://img.ly/sY0G
  6. HOLY! OMFG! I wanted to jump through my computer screen looking at this picture! WOW!
  7. I'm sure the process is not that complicated... Knotts had B&M modify a support and it arrived on site the year they were building windseeker. Six Flags could've contacted Vekoma to manufacture new supports for the new location. (In that case could chance-morgan be manufacturing a new support for this ride?)
  8. It's official... SFGAm just posted this on their facebook page. Batman will go Backwards... even though we already know... now the public does too. SFGAM facebook
  9. I need to attend this... But another road trip is not in plan.
  10. + + = Who made the trians on phatom's revenge?
  11. Yes such is why I would not use tradiational bulbs (screw in)... I would go with a method that uses LED technology or some sort of optics. I would most likely fix the light units in the triangule corners of the arch way that way they move as one with the structure (nothing dangling and nothing that would create a moment arm). However, if they are trying to just accomplish a pitch black effect then none of this lighting talk is worth discussing.
  12. I dont think the parks will have to worry about them for the most part... they seem pretty darn expensive.
  13. In the last photo, looks like they are covering the bottom of the first drop with a open-sided tunnel... Is that in the same fashion as the Former Rattler due to the cliff and possible falling rocks?
  14. I do like that they are marketing their coasters and possibly targeting the mini-hyper market. The three things that stuck out to me are 1: the trains! Is it me or do Morgan Hyper trains feel like Bath tubs. Seriously! But these trains as shown in the animation look like they have a lower profile. They expose more of the upper body and have more of that statium seating look to them. The rides of the current trains come up to my shoulders when I'm sitting (again bath tub). 2: The ending of the layout is a nod to the classic Morgan style of airtime hills on the return run. I like! 3: the 80 degree drop, its about time... no more 60/65 degree drops. Unfortunately, the ride is not fast enough, it doesn't get interesting for me until the end. That speed and intensity at the end needs to be the entire ride. Hopefully they will adjust and lower the height of the first two turn arounds and allow faster speeds throughout the elements. Good Find!
  15. For those thinking that just because this is Cedar Fair, that the tunnel will/could lack the themeing with flickering lanterns.... I bring you a screen shot from a Maverick POV... I'm sure they can replicate this look in the tunnel if they wanted to.
  16. Rob, I was there last month and I too felt that hulk was unusually rough for a B&M. I was wondering if the wheel on my particular car could've been wearing out but not sure. Nonetheless, I rode twice, but I was a bit (and surprisingly so) underwhelmed by the ride it gave. I think the Simpsons store fronts are Kwik - E - mart, KFP, Moes, and Krusty Burger. How were HRRR, Mummy, and the other attractions?
  17. WTH... just saw this ride and had to post it... I doubt its the best but it's interesting.
  18. New pics from GCI facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/#!/GreatCoasters
  19. Exactly... it's like the coaster its taking an innagural parade around the city... WTF... for a boomerang... just get the damn thing up and running.
  20. It looks like a motion simulator platform base with coaster track on it. The springs look like they assist with lateral movement. Also looks like there are some mechanisms to control vertical movement. Question is, is it to aid with movement in those directions, or is it to prevent movement, or dampen any sudden movement.
  21. So there are some Boomerang track pieces sitting at the St. Louis Arch... Metro Transit STL Flickr Of course this wouldn't be why it's taking so long for the ride to go up.
  22. Oh Wes! Must you pick on me? lol... But seriously that last teaser was *CRAY* (in light of your humor towards the Outlaw Run POV)
