  1. Where would one start to find investor/financing for a small park like this for a place like Mississippi or Nashville?
  2. ^ its still out there... and very likely... But if on side of KK like the rumors says... then its not a giga drop tower but more of a strata tower over 400ft.
  3. I could see a ride called Long-shot going in a St. Patricks themed area... (an area where one can get shots or shot glasses for those not into booze). Or a Valentines themed area after a shot from cupid. lol
  4. Have to give props to Knotts for deconstructing a ride, doing the grading, and erecting a new coaster (and soon two flats) in such time... all while other major overhauls were taking place (Ghost rider, Boomerang, and Windseeker). It seems weather is on their side however, it amazes me how this can happen while other parks seem to be unable to get one ride up and running in such time. Kudos to Knotts and the Cedar Fair planning/engineering team.
  5. I don't know if minor changes will boost attendance however it could boost returning guest numbers as guest could possible enjoy themselves more inside the park. I also wouldn't get too carried away with the beginning of the season team members... the true test is during the hot summer days after they've started working double shifts nearly everyday... see if the smiles are the same then. However, un-doubtably, these are some great changes to the park, and too bad the park's signature coaster Superman was unable to open to the guest. I would think that if Nitro and Kingda ka were able to open in a state that further north (possibly colder climate) than SFA then Superman would be able to run (especially given that its course is so low to the ground). However wind could play a factor too.
  6. But howelse will the entrance be along the flyby if not through that corridor under the station.
  7. ^Thank you so much for enlightening me. Glad I wasn't loosing my mind (there was a morgan rumor but doesnt mean it was Superman's layout -- we never will know) ... Back on topic... Robb I know SFA has 6 different flags out front.
  8. I wonder how the queue will get up the station. The station footprint is relatively small. Just curious where the stairwell will go. In one of the pictures it looks like there is another themed hallway in the making that goes under the station. Maybe the stairwell will go in the front side of the station between the station fly-by and the front of the station. The other thing I noticed from the picture is it looks that the station may have the issue of front row riders blocking the path of others to get to different rows. The station just looks narrow. I assume the unload side of the station which faces the park will have the ADA ramp.
  9. That's very very very disapointing news... I was going to make my trip to the park late april.
  10. I'm Afraid of LL:DOD... I don't think I can do it. I always feel like my heart is going to pop out my chest.
  11. Im sorry let me rephrase. Yes, I know Superman has been running for years. I'm talking back before Superman was built (So lets go back 10 years) here on TPR. I remember rumors saying that this ride was originally slated for a different six flags park. I never followed the rumor back then but was curious if it was true. So just like some say Goliath at SFOG was originally destined for a different park, was the same true about Superman? That's all.... I do remember Superman's construction was initially delayed due to some construction permit stuff.
  12. AWESOME!!!!!! No more Lockers... (we'll you have a choice)? If you choose to reserve a locker can you add time to it or switch it to a different location? I was looking on a different SFA forum site and it showed pictures of the SFA using the sliding door cubbies... where they slide the door over the cubbies corresponding to the train that is out on the course to help minimize potential theft. Seriously this is great news. We actually have a choice vs. being forced. Good Job SFA? Now how about the landscaping on the capital railways train... did they clean it up? Where they running two trains on the coasters? I understand it was cold and the crowds were minimal but I'd figured Id ask although I probably know the answer. I'm sure the cold gave them some downtime issues with some rides like it did at great adventure. I heard they made a change over at Bones Chicken and Waffles too (can you still eat inside)? and where is the park is "What the fried" and "Six Below" located? Edit: also found a cool opening day video.
  13. Was this hyper always rumored to be built at SFM? Or was there another park (namely SFWorlds of Adventure)?
  14. Those Wheels: They do look like they were going have LEDs in the wheels like the mauer sohne demonstration I few IAAPAs ago... but the oil makes makes sense. LEDs would be a nice touch especially for nighttime and the fact that the coaster runs near the front of the park.
  15. That's what I thought I read but I was not sure. I thought I had mis-read something becasue form pictures I have not seen where the track is under the station. That's pretty cool with the station doubling as an elevator. It would be nice to see video of this process. Another question, so the elevator station does the whole platform lower. As you see in this photo below, the cars seem to overhang the wooden platform so I can't see how only the track lowers. So do the track and the actual platform lower together?
  16. Yes! They are loading the train on the tracks. Gatekeeper webcame 3/21/2013
  17. I'm speaking in terms of daily operations. Since YOLOcoaster is new, for at least the summer, the crew will most likely be at the top of their game to accommodate crowds. Thank you for alerting me to another version to add to the word filter! My pleasure
  18. I have a question: Where is Sierra Sidewinder's transfer track? Does it have one?
  19. Imagine the days, when like superman and Riddler, they decide to go down to one train operation.... At least that's more time to eat more Yolo Wings
  20. Don't have any clue who or what Chima is? How popular is this IP? That aside, I love heavily immersive rides and I think that this is a unique ride to the Florida market and also unique for the type of ride system as it has both outdoor and indoor portions. Being that this is a splash battle, I hope the indoor portion preceeds the outdoor portion as, being indoor and wet can make for a chilly ride and you get soaked on splash battles.
