  1. Did you make sure to check in the scenery Item menu as well as the others?
  2. ^No, I don't think Spidey will get replaced by Transformers, and adding a second story to it would be ridiculous. Sorry, doing a ton of brainstorming here... What I meant is that Universal has already developed Spiderman, and all of its various aspects. Transformers being refered to as a "Second Gen Spidey", with the same type of ride of ride vehicle (updated), and the facts about the ride led me to believe that they took the layout, and placement of screens that they already knew would work, and then used them to develop a new version of the ride with Transformers as it's theme. Of course since USH has space issues, they took the layout, modified it slightly so it could be two stories, but used the same screen positons to make creating the ride sequences easier. To back up my claim, the footage of the ride that was shown (being towed by Decepticons) was as someone noticed, very similar to the scene where you're dragged around NYC sky in Spidey.
  3. ^ I slanted the drawing trying to get an exact feel for that. I Figured that to save some money during the design process they decided to keep the track and screen layouts the same just to save on engineering design time and the GCI design. They had to engineer a computer program to predict the movement of the cars to make sure the film stayed 3D while the cars were in motion. They'd have to go back and re-design that program (or make a more advanced one) for a new layout. Since they have a system that works quite spectacularly and seemlessly, I have a feeling this is more of a second gen Spidey in nearly every aspect. That's not a bad thing either. Spiderman is my favorite ride at IOA, simply because of it's constant and flowing story with very good transitions unlike "awkward screen-to-scene transitions" that Journey has.
  4. ^Frankly, I'd rather see a completely restored and enclosed fully operation Schwarzkopf gem than a half-done "quicke" fix. If we have to wait a year, so be it. Rushing is never a good thing.
  5. I'm sure it's different, but Setgo (Zach) suggested that since the ride's show scenes matched, they might have a similar layout, which is why I decided to test it with Spidey's layout. After all, why change a proven system?
  6. ^Even if Walabi didn't buy that, they could still purchase a new lap bar train from Zierer like the one that now runs on Test Track in the German Fair circut.
  7. I was trying to figure out how exactly the two stories thing could work with Spidey's layout, and here's what I came up with as how they split up the ride into two seperate levels. My guess something like this will occur: First and Second ride screens begin the story on the bottom floor, first elevator will take you up into the sky scraper seen in the trailer, the next few show scenes will be at the top, and the next elevator will take you out of the skyscraper and into the scene where you are being towed by a Decepticon. After that, who knows.... Just a prediciton of how they split the layout up... Just imagine the second floor in the pic being mirrored then place on top of the first floor pic.
  8. Today is the day! Can't wait to see what you have in store. (And make sure to check your PMs )
  9. But, each train also has a different ride experience.... If Atlantis has 16 boats (aprox?) with 8 people per car, that's 128 credits. Manta will have four 16 passenger trains, so that's 64 credits.
  10. That teaser about what Antartica is going to be is going to nag in the back of my head, springing outlandish ideas until it is actually announced what kind of ride system it uses. Warning: Outlandish Pipedream ahead. Could it be possible to combine the trackless technology of Pooh with the the motion base technology of Transformers/Spiderman to create a family friendly, yet thrilling, multi-experience attraction, utilizing the screens as well as taking different vehicle paths? I can dream
  11. ^You're trapped in the 90's, you just don't know it yet. Who created the Jesus Facepalm statue?
  12. Agreed, his Q&A session was the highlight of the event on the Knotts day last year.
  13. Surprised this one hasn't made it in the "hall of shame" Regarding Manta's construction at SWSD.
  14. ^He posted a picture of the coaster, which probably represented what he was saying better than just saying JTA. Went to the park yesterday, construction is coming along nicely.
  15. I'll give it a shot! What kind of coaster do you have in mind?
  16. I wonder if it will rain again like last year at Knott's Frankly I found that the rain didn't really hinder our experience that much, and caused the park to be empty for most of the day. I marked my calendar! Can't wait to go!
  17. If they actually did that, I'd probably die. Frankly, I can understand why in short term, a WWoHP might be profitable, I'm not quite sure how successful the lands will be in the long term, especially since the final book and movie have now been released, I can see popularity beginning to die down a bit. If they were to start construction now, it would still take 2 years or so to build, and by then I think something bigger and better will have come along to take HP's popularity throne.
  18. With all the large rides SFMM has in it's portfolio currently, I'd rather see a more close to the ground twisting Blitz, or even an Aquqatrax (not joking, how awesome would an SFMM Aquatrax be? ) I just hope whatever replaces Log Jammer doesn't spell the end for Goldrusher too...
  19. I'm thinking of a small quaint RCT2 park that's NCS and 50x50 that screams "small time family amusement park".
  20. While Log Jammer wasn't the best flume in the world, it did have some charm that many other flumes didn't. Frankly, this "OMG ride is getting removed and I'm a bit upset" happens everytime a ride closes. (Psyclone being the exception, that can rot in hell right next to Windjammer) Also the log flume that "drips" on you is Jet Stream, not Log Jammer. Really random memory of that ride: Last time I went to the park was Spring Break of 09', and it was REALLY hot out, so we used our Flash Passes to get onto Log Jammer. The station used clamps to keep the logs from departing. The ride op had figured out how to soak people using the clamps by pushing them back and forward soaking everyone before they even left the station.
  21. I'm guessing that we'll see the track layout be completed by Christmas, and testing will probably not begin till around Feb. so they can get the LSMs and all the ride electronics installed and Mack finishes train construction. And that's only if they decide to test it sans the theming. So far it's looking great!
  22. I think I'm the master of night ride profile shots Shot0491.bmp Figure this shot could probably go here too
  23. I'm gradually try to expand, but finding just the right coaster type for the flat forest area is proving difficult for me. While it turned out to be to intense for the park, this Schwarzkopf still kicks tons of ass and can run five trains. Dare You Challenge The Lotus? SCR101.BMP
  24. In the past, the winner had to click on a link that lead to a picture of a crown. Is this the same here too?
  25. Does the "surprise" have to be accessed through some kind of a link in the forums aside from the normal ones that navigate you from page to page?
