Not neccessarily near death but definitely an oh @#$% moment was at Knotts in the rain last year when Monte didn't brake us at all when we came backwards through the station. I was so used to hearing the brake hit, when I didn't hear it... It didn't help that we were in the very back row. Needless to say, that was the best ride I have ever had on Monte.

I was actually shocked when I heard the price of a big fun was only around 3 million considering many of GCI's larger investments go up to around 10 million when all is said and done. I think its layout is great and for how little it costs compared to most other coasters, I think it will be a perfect fit!

I really don't want to see another Potter area in USF, keep it to IOA and more likely expand it out into Lost Continent or (dare I say it?) the massive amount of Land Dueling Dragons sits on. While I don't want Dragons going anywhere, the ride has lost its two most immersive aspects (queue theming and dueling). As for Jaws...at this point I have absolutely no idea what they plan to do. That is an absolutely massive plot of land to work with... but seeing as they already have the water...I'd think completely razing the area and starting over would be a bit expensive... Things People Suggested/My Opinions HP Land Expansion: Like I said above, I'm not really digging the idea of HP coming to USF, keep it to IOA... Transformers: Leveling the land seems a bit unrealistic at the moment, I wouldn't be surprised if this ended up where T2:3D is in a few years instead, as that area of the park is a little lacking... Lord Of The Rings: This would be very interesting...the only thing is how would they utilize the space and the terrain currently there/if not, what in the world would the ride be? Weird thing is, the second I started thinking of a replacement for Jaws, the first thing I came up with was King Kong. People were pretty upset when it got taken out, and even though Mummy replaced it, I'm sure a lot of people still miss it... So why not bring back Kong as a water ride and have some tie in from the most recent movie like USH did for the tram tour? While I admit the idea is pretty convoluted, I think it would be very successful if done right. The USH Kong had massive crowds when it opened, and it was just an add-on to the tram...so what if FL re-built a full on attraction for him? Just an idea...

This Verbolten disliking continually reminds me of how many people whined before AND after HRRR opened. Not sure why people dislike it, because that thing has some really great and forceful move and some fantastic pops of airtime. I'm going to update my list a bit: Keep in mind I'm still looking forward to these, I just think people are going a little crazy over some... Wild Eagel: Besides the view, the ride itself looks very tame and rather short. 7 Dwarves Mine Train: The rocking just seems really gimicky... Ones I'm Iffy On: Carsland: I think people are going to expect a little too much from Radiator Springs Racer, and will endlessly compare it with both Journey to the Center of the Earth and Test Track Superman SFDK: The ride itself looks stellar, but the capacity looks obscene... -
^ I nearly face palmed myself to death when I saw that they were going to do Phantom Menace in 3D. And if I recall correctly, didn't JK Rowling say she'd write another novel if she felt like it? Sshe probably will. I doubt she'd just let the franchise wither away slowly but surely. I'm still not quite sure if I want this to happen, but I think if they balance Potter with a new attraction 1 or 2 years after it opens, it'll divert the crowds a bit more than before. Also, does anyone know the apox lifespan/how long they plan to keep either Mummy or Jurrassic Park? While the lower lot now has Transformers, I'd assume they'll need something new down there after HP opens up top to split the crowds up. I'd assume they'd probably get rid of Mummy before they would get rid of JP. Frankly, I like both so... As for the Vision Plan, I hope that got dumped down the drain after Comcast took over. I honestly liked the sort of Movie Studio feel USH has, and I feel that if they were to add Potter, it would still keep to the theme bit better, but the area would need some serious improvements from IOA's. As for different ride technology, didn't Universal recently pattent a system that was basically a coaster capable of latching onto a piece of track that moved like a motion sim through a darkride section? I think they should consider running with that before they decide to do a repeat performance with Kuka. Overall I felt the transitions on FJ ended up being choppy and awkward whereas Spidey has absolutely seamless scene transitioning.

I'm not sure whether to be for or against this... I'm hoping if it does happen, they try and do another part of the Wizzarding World like someone mentioned Diagon Alley. Unfortunately, people would complain about FL having the Castle and us not having it, so I assume they'll have the Castle. I'm relatively sure Waterworld/Shrek/Gibson could all be razed with minimal damage to crowds now that Transformers in almost done. If they do some kind of a new show or Studio Tour feature also I think they could still draw in decent crowds during what I assume will be an immense project. I also believe it will do less damage to the surrounding park. Also even though Disney is doing the Avatarland at AK, I wonder if it would still be possibly to do an Avatar atttraction where T2 is now, as previously rumored.

Everytime I see the words "Priority Boarder" I get annoyed. I'm seriously sick of them at SFDK, as the system is abused beyond belief and needs to be controlled. I'm considering sending a formal complaint to management about it, as it's been a continual problem for the last year or so now. Don't even get me started on how badly V2's capacity is murdered by them.

The Rumor / Crazy Idea Superthread
SoCalCoasters replied to Wes's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
There's been some very strong rumors circulating through lately about what Legoland may have in store over the next year or so. There's been a very nice chunk of land behind Pirate Shores that used to be a giant dirt hill that accumulated after the Waterpark was put in. Now that they've truck the dirt away, there's room for either an expansion of Pirate Shores or the Waterpark, both of which have supposedly been discussed. The other rumor was that Legoland may have a relatively "big" addition for 2013 to open in conjunction with the Hotel (which has final begun construction!). At this point, the Hotel rumor makes sense. Add a big flashy attraction to bring guests into your park from all over Western US, and offer them a hotel on site to stay multiple days. Carlsbad really is a great location for Legoland, as it can also serve as a "home base" with around four parks within an hour drive. -

Fun and Only, Guru Fail, Coaster Expert...they're all the same troll who's been terrorizing RCT3 Forums and YouTube for far too long. I believe he initially was banned for doing a 9-11 ride and making fun of the deaths of thousands. If I recall, he re-uploaded it on one of his failchannels, so sift through his garbage and you'll find a heck of a lot more crud. -

Yeah... I think I'd rather have a different theme, or some variation done by Luc Besson that won't be quite as... childish? IDK Not quite sure how to translate what I'm try to say into terms... -
Everyone who thought that this coaster is "tame" is going to be in for a surprise! I can't wait to see how the theming interaction will be when the ride is completed! Exactly, the final launch on Cheetah Hunt is (correct me if I'm wrong) around 40 MPH and has an unholy airtime hill, which is how fast Manta's launch is. Considering these hills are smaller than CH's, it'll be interesting to see exactly how much airtime this ride ends up having. I wonder if Manta will end up having the best airtime in CA? You never know...

That is a great looking Thomas Town! The only thing I would suggest is maybe placing a hacked train in the center of the plaza as a decoration to make it seem more "Thomas-like".
