  1. 10/20 : too bad I don't know finnish! But isn't the Green Lantern: First Flight a Zach-Spin?
  2. I was expecting the Speed of Magic ride to be very cheesy, half assed, and lame, but actually it was pretty interesting! The introduction and much of it was REALLY cheesy, especially the pre-show, but it kind of looked like fun. Not up to Spiderman or even DarKastle but at the end I thought it was neat. "This could be the most dangerous night of my life--and yours!" Sounds a little familiar?
  3. Newsplusnotes has sa couple new pictures as well: http://newsplusnotes.blogspot.com/ I think it sounds pretty impressive, should be a very enveloping environment if done right. The launch tunnel sounds pretty cool and unique.
  4. /\Old Spice made a great Asian set... you should check out his trees as well, they're a huge help. This game is very frustrating... Don't care to elaborate now, but I may have to buy my fourth copy... blechhh...
  5. That's ultra cool and very creative. Well done. I can't wait for more! Great concept, I love it so far. Kind of like a "bite sized" Disney park.
  6. I got an email too--but my pass expired last year and when I had my season pass, I only made it to the park once! surprised I received one.
  7. Wow, the new color scheme has wayyy to many different colors going on. Personally I think it's pretty ugly looking, but the new floorless coaster looks amazing. Even though its on the small size, it still will seem massive overlooking the ocean from the ridge.
  8. I completely agree--I love Mack. They're really great at what they do. By the way, the brochure is also available for download on the Mack rides site: http://content.yudu.com/A1ph93/MackRidesCatalogue/resources/index.htm?referrerUrl=http://www.mack-rides.com/en/products/product-portfolio/index.html
  9. Thanks for all the updates! It's great to see the park getting back on track.
  10. Closing DCA for even 6 months would be a horrible choice IMO. The park would get a great deal of unhappy customers and receive complaints. Think about how many people come to the park each day, even with construction, not only could Disney loose lots of money, but also Disneyland could become packed with DCA closed.
  11. Sea World San Diego for sure, just in general. More specifically, Journey to Atlantis & the whole Dona Frye debacle. Even the new roller coaster in the planning stages is already pretty controversial.
  12. I just saw someone win! I'm very surprised actually EDIT: Two people just won in a row!
  13. Sweet! I'm liking the "launch into the event building" part alot. I hope that the new coaster doesn't dominate the park like Griffin did (not that I dislike that, I actually like how the ride appears perched above the rest of the park like a...well, Griffin); I would rather the ride stay below the tree levels adding to a sense of mystery. I really hope the ride includes a large plunge into the ravine. It could really create some great G-s if the trains plunged down the side, into a sharp, banked pull-out up the other side.
  14. Of the ones I've been on: 1) Alpengeist 2) Great Bear 3) Dueling Dragons 4) Raptor 5) Batman 6) Silver Bullet I'm a huge fan of great theming and terrain hugging elements, both of which Alpengeist thrives in. I did, however vote for Great Bear only because I feel it doesn't have enough votes, and overall I think the ride is very enjoyable. It is very different from any other B&M Coaster I know of and breaks free from the traditional slew of elements. Great Bear feels more like an Arrow suspended coaster to me with its lake skimming jot, banking from side to side instead of the normal corkscrews. The quirky supports as the ride races above the water and the excellent chance to enjoy the view from the pre-drop win it to me. Great Bear feels very different than any other B&M inverted coaster I've been on.
  15. Yeah, growing up in SoCal I got alot of that stuff. "The new space mountain will launch on the Rocket Rodd track into the mountain into 6 loops" This was after the Thunder Mountain accident--"They're going to change Thunder Mountain so the train is under the track and put big nets around the side of the track"
  16. Friend: OMG! Have you been on Maliboomer?! It's 1,000 feet tall! Me: Not... Friend: Noooo... the signs on the ride SAY it is 1,000 feet tall! I cannot even remember how many times I've been told this. If anyone remembers, the wraps on the maliboomer used to list the height of the hammer as it goes on (200 ft, 300 ft, ect.)
  17. Sorry if this is off topic, but my grandma is good friends with the owner of the Patina Group group. I love the Naples restaurant at Downtown Disney and am so glad one has come to Disney World as well. On Topic: The burgers look like an improvement. I wonder how they'll do however.
  18. The description actually sounds pretty zany! Given the description, I could see this turning out much better than Cheetah Hunt!
  19. Awwe! It's not snowing in Orange County. The snow pictures are very cool, thanks!
  20. Has anyone been able to figure out the family launch coaster? http://data.sphosting.ch/Intamin/Media/Family%20Launch%20Coaster/Family%20Launch%20Coaster.pdf
