  1. uh oh, maybe "Scream" will be the next re-do! On another note, I'm going to an advanced screening of Terminator: Salvation tonight. I'll report back if I see any "Wooden" coaster used as a prop! LOL
  2. ^ I'm curious as to how the park is handling the flashpass lines, and if their seems to be a big demand for them. I haven't heard very many reviews of the system yet.
  3. ^ Well we've got about 2 weeks left, and then all will be revealed. Should be interesting!
  4. Discuss, yes. The same gripes about the theme not matching a wooden coaster, noise. Yes, yes, we know already. We've known this since September.
  5. ^ I agree with you, but ride the darn finished product first. Until then, it's just a bunch of noise. The theming aspects aren't even done yet. Who knows, this may exceed people's expectations.
  6. ^ I feel just the opposite. It's their job to sell the hell out of this ride, and if I were Mark Shapiro and they didn't, they'd have some answering to do. Technically, it will be the most expansive theming they've ever done at the park. And if they aren't extremely proud of it, no one else will be either. I certainly wouldn't be worried about what TPR has to say about it, especially not having seen the finish product yet, and given the fact that enthusiasts are always going to be your harshes critics. Heck, it worked with X2, and that ride has less than half the crap that was advertised.
  7. Um... are we ever going to get past this stupid theming issue? We've known about this for a year now. Why are people still complaining like this is something new. It's getting so tiring
  8. Put me in the group that thinks the trains look incredible (great job GCI guys), but that they do not fit the idea of riding a wooden coaster. Having said that, it seems as though that's exactly what SFMM wanted with this ride, "not typical" or "outside the box". In that sense I think they got what they wanted. A metal theme on a wooden coaster? On board audio? This is a purist's nightmare, and if it works, it may change the way we view how a wooden coaster should be.
  9. Thanks for those. Everything looks great!
  10. What I always wished for Goliath is a less gripping mid-corse brake, and then 2 hills in each direction (with a highly banked turn between them) before the final helix. It's almost like SFMM is allergic to any kind of prolonged airtime. To this day there is no ride in the park that has it.
  11. I seem to remember a tunnel on Roar West as well. It's been years since I've ridden it.
  12. LOL, that was a great update Robb. Thanks! It's so weird that a "typical" GCI could have me so pumped to ride. This ride (as far as elements go) just doesn't look very exciting. However I do get a kick out of the idea that SFMM will have a wooden coaster worth riding again. And I'm excited to see the theming as well. Should be fun!
  13. I don't know why you'd need a tunnel with all that wonderful nature speeding past you. That's going to be a great night ride.
  14. Right. I pay an addition $5.00 just to pay my energy bill by phone. All done by a third party collecting service. Not much different than this.
  15. ^ Why would they make this payment if they plan on filing Chapter 11 at some point. Chapter 11 wipes away the 7 Million along with all the rest. I wouldn't pay it either.
  16. Wow, when's the last time a park constructed so many high quality coasters in such a short period of time? Maybe never.
  17. I did not expect this ride to travel through it's structure so much. Good stuff.
  18. ^ Enthusiasts may not rank it as high as El Toro, but who cares? This isn't being done to please enthusiasts. If everyday guess appreciate the effort being put into this classic but aged ride, then that's all that really matters.
  19. ^ Oh I'm sure it will bore some of them. But I agree with you. Last year I noticed kids of all ages riding Kentucky Rumbler, even without their parents. GCIs are not very intense at all, and although really small kids can't ride it, from about 9+ should have no problem with Termy. That's a VERY large group they are covering with this coaster.
  20. ^ So the "running of the bulls" to X2 continues, with or without Flashpass. I hope Jay does what he says, adding a rival attraction over on the other side of the park. With X2, Tatsu and now Terminator, that left side is always so over-crowded.
  21. ^ Yeah I caught that flub. A very derogatory name to be calling SF investors! Other than that, a very good report. This time last year it was all about accidents in SF parks. This piece was much more balanced.
  22. ^ Sounds like Mark Shapiro thing to me. He probably thinks a non-talking Mr. Six comes off as creepy.
