Photo TR: An Epic Theme Park Summer
GwaziBSRider1 replied to rcdude's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Time for disagreements! Kingda Ka - I'm not a one-trick pony person. This ride is just mediocre to me. Although on my one ride in 2012, if it weren't for the fins at the top of the hill, we WOULD have stopped. Green Lantern - This to me is the worst of all of the B&M's. As much as I enjoy the layout, I always walk off hurt. I've ridden almost half of the B&M coasters, and this is the only one that I would consider to be incredibly painful (Yes, even more so than Vortex or Apocalypse). B:TR - I'm the complete opposite. I consider this one to be the strongest of all the B:TR clones and SFMM's the weakest. Dark Knight - I enjoy "Mice in a Box" rides, especially if they're well themed like this one. Although, the one in Mexico is miles ahead of this one. Nitro: Again, I completely disagree. I've ridden a good handful of the Hypers, and this is by far the worst for me. I find it to be incredibly boring with little to pique my interest. If it weren't for the horrible rattle on it earlier this year, I could've easily fallen asleep on it. El Toro: Outlaw Run just barely inched ahead of it for me. I thought nothing could beat it either. I was incredibly shocked by that coaster. -

They both have an out-and-back wooden coaster that's absolutely fantastic! Conneaut Lake and Lakeside Amusement Park -

That Maurer model is actually quite fun. It has a nice spin to it and doesn't try to punch you in the gut like some of the others. I think it will work well with the theme, and it will be a nice addition to that area of the park. -
True (if it's good hot chocolate) The person below me doesn't drink coffee.

^ Did that make the earthquake during the Mexico Tour last year that much more exciting for you?

I highly disagree that CF has smooth SLC's. Flight Deck is absolutely brutal and well beyond its welcome. Thunderhawk is definitely smooth-ER than others, but it ran smoother at Geauga Lake. I would only argue for an SLC if the new style trains were added. The Great Nor'easter was still rough, but it was fun because you don't have a concussion at the end. -

Ordered one as well. If I can actually find a place to hang them, it will look wonderful next to my flag that used to fly over the Legend! -

I didn't get to ride it until 2006, and it's tied with SFMM's Green Lantern for the worst steel coaster I've ever ridden. I still remember jumping up and down for joy when its closure was announced. -

Ah, the brakes that practically made you deaf as you waited in line. A horrendous end to a horrendous ride. -

If I don't include parks, then Washington DC. I love being in the National Mall and the affluent neighborhoods around the National Zoo. Pittsburgh is a close second, and that's probably because it's always been my closest big city, so it will always hold a special place in my heart.

Top Roller Coaster Myths & Rumors!
GwaziBSRider1 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^ If I remember correctly (and this part may be false), it was supposed to be built on or in the same area as the third Marriott's Great America that never materialized. -
^ I've never had a problem with Vortex being rough at all, except this year it got me once on the turn into the MCBR. I've always considered it to be one of the smoothest Arrows out there.

This is a really nice park; you've done a great job with it so far! There's one thing that really stands out to me here and that's your Sky Ride. I can't help but notice that there are no attractions near the far side. In my eyes, it makes the Sky Ride unnecessary. I think you should start expanding in that direction and maybe have a small midway connect the Sky Ride to the Corvus/Enterprise area. Looking forward to your 1992 update, though!

I get really freaked out by mannequins. The more realistic they are, the more uncomfortable I get.

Weird Roller Coaster Dreams

Here was one from last night: I was on a TPR tour and we had ERT on Nefeskesen at Vialand in Istanbul (a coaster I've been lusting after for a while now). . The queue was indoors and in complete darkness. There were actors scaring people in the queue, which was absolutely miserable for me since I'm not a Haunt person by any means. Once I got up to the station, the ride was a GIGANTIC B&M flying coaster. The trains were had five normal flying coaster cars next to each other in each row, except for the first row which had four cars. When I say this thing was gigantic, it was high enough that you were flying above the clouds (obviously, there weren't supports). It was designed to really simulate the sensation of flight, but it had a massive pretzel loop that was incredibly intense. -
^ Happy early birthday! What a fun way to celebrate! My local resort (Wisp) opened this past weekend, but the weather's been terrible, so there's only 4/34 trails open so far.

^ I grew up riding Arrows, so I know firsthand how bad some of them are when you're below the restraint. In fact, one of my first big coasters was the old Steel Phantom. It was a great teacher on how to ride really rough coasters, and I still use what I learned to spare my life on Vekomas!

New Wanda Parks in China.

That definitely looks like a clone of Pony Express to me. Same color scheme, too. I really like the colors of the B&M, though. Looks like it will be a fun ride! -
