Energylandia Park Discussion Thread
viking86 replied to BDG's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Of course it's about the ice cream, what on earth could make you think it was about anything else??? Ummm, about the same way as any other amusement park is built, you have people/companies investing money in it.... -
^I'm very happy with my country, but worms falling from the sky is not the main reason why! This happened in my city by the way (on one of the mountains surrounding the city to be correct), in april last year.

Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread

While I agree you shouldn't HAVE TO like every coaster, I know I personally love some coasters many people dislike, so I don't think it is wrong for people to be sad or angry about demolition of a coaster you just happen to find terrible. I'm not gonna quote every answer I got as that would make this post very long, so I will keep it to this one. I don't hate on people, or say it's wrong for them to be sad about a coaster being removed that they like, even though other people don't like. I get that. For example I will always ride Loopen when I go to Tusenfryd. This ride holds a special place in my heart as it was the first major rollercoaster in Norway when it opened in 1988 and remained the only one until Thundercoaster opened in 2001. But I don't expect all enthusiasts to enjoy the ride, or that all enthusiasts around the world should be sad when the day comes when they remove it. If people say "I'm sad to see this particular coaster go as I always enjoyed it" then that's perfectly fine. -

^I dont understand why coaster enthusiasts should enjoy riding absolutely every rollercoaster either. I always shake my head when a terrible coaster is being demolished and people say that it's always sad to see any coaster go. It's like saying that car enthusiasts should enjoy driving any car ever made, regardless of how terrible it is. -

That was pretty cool, thanks for sharing! Shame the knock-off boomerang wasn't open yet, I was really curious to hear about that one. Although I'm sure you are more than pleased with not having to ride it. -

When sitting in the left seat on Kumba I smacked my left hand on some branches while starting the climb into the dive loop. This was in a "normal hands up" position and I wasn't trying to reach for it. Seems to be quite common on rides with a lot of vegetation near the track. -

Holy balls! That might be coolest lift/drop structure I've ever seen! Really looking forward to see construction of the first drop now! -

That whole area looks awesome! I loved dinosaurs when I was a kid, so this area would have been like paradise to me. Good choice of rides as well, I haven't been on any of the boomerangs, but I've been on a couple of the suspended coasters and they are really fun for people of all ages. -

I like the artwork on the front. However the combination of the horizontal boards and the artwork onthe sides don't really match. Either one of those by itself would look great, but together it just looks a bit like they couldn't decide and thought 'what the heck, let's have both'. I'm not saying that the trains looks bad, but I think this is a perfect example where "less is more" would have made it look better. -

Great report! It's always interesting to see what goes on backstage at amusement parks. I particularly liked the pictures with the wheel racks, those really appealed to the coaster geek in me. -
Photo TR: Cookiex goes (back) to Lisberg

Great trip report! Liseberg has always been one of my favorite parks, a great ride collection, beautiful scenery and excellent operations! Balder was perfectly fine in August last year, you should be fine! Just a small piece of advise regarding your high expectations, from my experience Balder can be a tad sluggish during the day. It will still provide great airtime, but it can be quite slow through the turns. Well, should you experience that the ride didn't quite live up to your expectations on your first ride, just wait until evening, because for the last couple of hours before closing that thing is flying like a bat out of hell!
