  1. My home park is Kennywood, something I have definitely taken for granted. It is truly a fantastic park.
  2. All signed up and ready to go! Here's to hoping I can reach my goal! Also, I am looking at bringing along 3 friends. I'll probably be signing them up through Team TPR as well to help our quest for $50,000+ raised! http://www.firstgiving.com/fundraiser/TaylorFinn/CedarPoint2013
  3. ^ I love how the two kiddies rank higher than Mean Streak. I don't know if I have ranked these already, but here goes: 1. Maverick (favorite seat: back) 2. Millennium Force (favorite seat: front car, second row). 3. Magnum 4. Raptor (favorite seat: front). ...and then, the rest of them kind of blur together for me. 5a. Wicked Twister. 5b. Top Thrill Dragster (a sensation that isn't worth experiencing more than once, IMO). 6. Gemini 7. Blue Streak 8. Iron Dragon 9. Cedar Creek Mine Ride 10. Mantis 11. Corkscrew 12. Mean Streak 13. Woodstock 14. Jr. Gemini I expect Gatekeeper to come in below Raptor or tied with Wicked Twister and TTD, based on what I've seen and experienced with Wingriders thus far. Should serve its purpose for the park very well.
  4. I have to also say Lakemont. I'm not gonna say its dirty, but the rides are not being maintained terribly well and it just gives off a specific vibe that I don't get at other parks. I only stayed for an hour to get the credit and ride a few of the unique rides, but it was definitely ghetto on some level. Plus, they have a larger picnic area than most full size, POPULAR parks.
  5. Thanks for the wonderful update! It upsets me that I've gone to Disney 7 times, but have yet to cross foot in a Universal Park. I definitely want to go down in like 4 years when Potterland and *potentially* Jurassic Park land are open. I'm upset I never got to ride Jaws, as I found out that my father actually worked on the team of engineers that developed the water circulation/management system for the ride.
  6. Loch Ness Monster at Busch Gardens was my first looping coaster and Arrow coaster. I was like 6 years old and remember standing in line literally crying. I have no regrets about my dad forcing me to ride now. It's definitely a good ride.
  7. Parents gave me a yes on this! Waiting for my friend to get the same answer, and we'll both be set for Cedar Point. Also got a kid on my floor at my school very interested in Dorney Park. He should be signing up soon himself! Extremely excited to get rolling on this.
  8. Trying very hard this year to get permission to drive out and sign up for the Cedar Point day; maybe even have my brother tag along. I really want to be given the opportunity to raise money for this cause. I think I could do a great job if I told kids in my college marching band and residence hall about it. College presents such a great opportunity for stuff like this. It just comes off sounding so awesome, 'Can you donate some money to charity in support of me marathoning a roller coaster?' I want to be a part of something special and I know this would be such an awesome experience.
  9. ^Oh dear, that does not seem very fitting for such an innocent kiddie coaster.
  10. ^I couldn't agree more. I showed it to people simply for the cool flats, not because I thought it was a well constructed film. I think the goal was to try to just sell people that the rides were all real and make that claim less and less believable as the film progressed. Because I didn't pick up on any real science or anything, like you said. I think we are definitely the wrong kind of audience for this kind of film.
  11. Really, really funny report. I liked it a lot! Maybe eventually I will make my way out to this park.
  12. I have been playing catch up and now following along live, but I just wanted to say thank you very much for this whole report. It has been hilarious and incredibly cool all the way through.
  13. I'm sure for the right price, they could get this. I would really prefer Six Flags mind their own business, though. I don't see them putting Sea World, Busch, and Sesame on a pedistool and putting in the money necessary to keep them unique and great.
  14. If that POV is representative, this coaster looks straight up incredible. I know zoning requirements forbid coasters above to be above tree height. Is that still how Alton Towers has to build?
  15. I just don't know how to interpret that element. It seems like that would make an inversion record a lot more meaningless if you had to do 5, most likely less thrilling, consecutive flips inside of the contraption. I don't really know what will end up happening, but I just don't see a park proudly marketing a '14 inversion coaster' with a gimmick like this in place.
  16. I'll say it again, but these drop towers are scary. And I think Knoebels will benefit from adding a sincere thrill ride. The park lacks them, and it can only help their overall lineup. Where is this thing being placed again? I'm sorry if I skipped over it.
  17. Thank you again for the update; seeing the construction on the house all together really put in perspective the amount of work that has gone into it the facade. It's just incredible to me how much these people care about perfection.
  18. That is some seriously scary stuff right there.
  19. I think this is a great idea and will work well for everyone. Stylish wristbands are fine with me.
  20. These drop towers are the only rides on the market that legitimately scare me. I love them to death, though. I am happy with this addition as I would have been with anything Knoebel's does. I'll be there again this summer for some more bumpin', snappin', and airtime.
  21. Robb, I appreciate what you do. You and Elissa have great jobs, but everyone knows how much work and bull you have to put up with. You run your business perfectly, and you make incredible POV's. 99% of this forum shares this opinion and that's all that matters. You may come off harsh, but I honestly think it is always well-deserved and in-line.
