  1. Does anyone know of some news going to be announced sometime this month or next month concerning one of the coasters at the park? someone had heard while at a coaster event at Silver dollar city from a representative from the park...
  2. I searched through the threads, and couldn't find a Six Flags St. Louis thread, if one turns up then by all means let me know and I will delete this one. I have heard talk that back in December some folks at Silver Dollar City while attending a coaster event, heard from a representative speaking from Six Flags St. Louis, and they said he talked about the new water slides being installed this year, and that he also mentioned that he had some news about one of the coasters at the park, that would be released in January, does anyone have any idea about truth to this comment, and does anyone have any idea of what the news might be? several people have had their own ideas as to what it might be, suggestions include, repainting Batman, new top track on the Boss, some even believe it might be the removal of the Ninja or a Mine Train overhaul. I personally don't have any idea what it could be if it true. would love some insight from someone who might be able to help, it would be greatly appreciated.
  3. I like the drop towers myself, and the Disk-O rides.. I really like King Chaos at Six Flags Great America, I haven't tried the pendulum swings yet will hopefully get to check out some new flats this summer at the different parks I visit.
  4. I will have to agree with the rest of the people that said Iron wolf, I hated that fact of the front seat queue being right at the top of the stairs, the line would get messy waiting at that point. another bad station in my opinion is right here at my home park, and it's the Boss, it gets too congested in there and some people have no clue as to which seat they are in line for. and as far as that one is considered, the queue line makes it even worse by being so extremely long...
  5. That drop down to the river is going to be incredible! yes I see some airtime on that hill most definitely... can't wait to ride this next summer!
  6. going to have to go with "Tony Hawks Big Spin" before it was changed to Pandemonium, and "Evel Knievel" before becoming "American Thunder" I don't like superhero names for coasters either. they need to have powerful names, naming a coaster "Batman The Ride" just doesn't do it...
  7. great report, like the pictures a lot. I have always loved coasters by Anton Schwarzkopf, I wish they hadn't gotten rid of the one at Six Flags St. Louis, it was a great ride. haven't ridden this one yet, but have always enjoyed seeing videos of it in action. the only 2 Schwarzkopf coasters I have ridden are Revolution at Magic Mountain and the one that was at my home park, The Jetscream. Looking forward to riding Mind Bender next year. Thanks for the awesome report and pictures
  8. Well my secret Santa package arrived today, and its pretty cool, I got anti-Christmas DVD, which looks really bad, so can't wait to watch it ( yes, I DO like bad Sci-Fi flicks) I also got a cool book about Six Flags over Georgia, which is actually really cool since this is one park I haven't visited yet and I am so looking forward to visiting next summer, now I have a interesting book to read up on the history of that park. and I got some assorted coasters. thanks to the sender, good choices
  9. Spencer's has sold those type of items for years and years. even more so back in the day when their posters and black lights and psychedelic stuff was all the rage. all of the dirty toys, marijuana related stuff have always been sold there, from necklaces to games ( Grass was one of the big seller in their games back in the 80's) to their adult "aids"
  10. Strangely enough up until this past summer I had a slight fear of heights, once the coasters started hitting 200 feet, I started getting a little leery of riding them but still did. I challenged myself to a couple of rides, the Sky Screamer (SFSTL) and Superman TOP (SFSTL) where you are high up and pretty much out in the open and survived them, then I went zip lining and survived that as well lol... So I would have to say my highlight of the year was conquering my fear of heights completely. looking forward to riding the tall coasters next year on New Hotness!
  11. This is going to be an awesome coaster to ride next summer, seeing the construction photos really gets you pumped up to see the finished product!
  12. Great TR, great photos too, the lights were incredible, would love to see that in person for sure..
  13. When i started going out to Great America years ago, Tidal wave was already gone. where was it located in the park? was it over where Batman the ride is now?
  14. Whenever I am in a haunted attraction, a quick scare seems to get the best results.. but once you scare someone, move on to another person. too many times i have had a scare actor follow our group continuing to try and scare us, it stops being fun and becomes annoying after a while. scare then move on..
  15. nice seeing the track arriving at the park, the coaster will be a definitely nice addition to the park, and I am very much planning on heading up there to check it out especially since I didn't make it to the park this year.
  16. I agree with the statement that they are lucky the Ferris wheel held the plane AND held together after impact, otherwise there would have been a great deal of deaths..
  17. missed the first 30 minutes of the chat, but was able to catch the rest of it., thanks for your time Robb and Elissa
  18. was going to post this in the breakdown thread, but that was closed so it goes here.. back in 1978 while riding the Screamin Eagle at Six Flags St. Louis, the train was climbing the lift, it reached a little more than halfway and then the train started slowing down, and then sped up and slowed again, then it jerked about 3 times then stopped. we sat there wondering what was going on. apparently something had happened to the chain and the wheel that turned the chain, and the coaster as we were told wasn't going anywhere. we sat there for about 15 to 20 minutes, and then finally they came up to us and informed us we would have to walk back down to the station. we had to wait for more employees to walk the lift up to us, and it took some time climbing back down to the station. however, it was actually pretty cool being on the tracks.
