  1. Oh! I also avoid Hot Tubs! Human soup with a bunch of half naked strangers never really appealed to me.
  2. With Global Warming, it's only a matter of time till the water in the great lakes is warm enough for the amoebas!
  3. People who prefer chlorine in their water more than parasites/amoebas/fish poop! Oh, and water slides.
  4. LAUSD - Goes back 8/14 Hart & Saugus - Goes back 8/16 All staff goes back a day or week before those dates.
  5. ^The water rides were closed for inspection after the earthquake as the epicenter was just a mile or two from the park and those rides needed a closer looking at according to our contact.
  6. Welcome to the camp of people that think Discovery Cove is one of the best theme parks out there!!! The other camp is people who haven't been yet cause "it aint got no roller coasters"...they will join our side if we can ever get them to go!
  7. They're all gas stations!!!!!! Saying which is the best is like saying who's the tallest dwarf! Back to Kennywood please! And yes, Phantom's Revenge is always underrated, that ride is awesome!
  8. We were following your closely while in Japan and I'm just so happy for the good news! Can't wait to see you guys soon!
  9. Not a coaster, but the ride that is COMPLETELY different day versus night that always pops up in my mind with this question is the train at Knoebels!
  10. Does 50 million Euros seem a *bit* high to anyone else? Like, I get that it was a bad fire and all, but I thought only one major ride got destroyed? Was there that much infrastructure that also got destroyed? Are they maybe counting new ride replacement costs in this?
  11. WAIT WAIT WAIT!?!?!?! What else is there?!!!? So employees are bad, facilities are gross, operations suck...oh and most of the rides try to kill you, but yeah it's great! Sure, of course, everyone should go there once if you're into coasters, but don't try to paint it as some amazing place that people will love. Maybe you all tolerated it better because we set your expectations accordingly.
  12. I got a bruise on it that lasted about 3 weeks! It's not terrible, but you really have to brace and be ready for certain spots and unfortunately I was watching out for KT more than myself.
  13. ^&^^ And they kept trying to talk to me while you guys were riding suggesting all of these other shows and things we should go do! It was hard (not because of the language but because of how nice they were) explaining that we were only there for like 30 min for the coasters since we were delayed from the Earthquake!
  14. ^Oh, I would totally say you know more than the parks about filming rides!
  15. Got caught up on this as we were away for June, but really nice and interesting report, thanks for sharing!
  16. Bummer to hear about more poor operations at SFDK. You're the second person to go in the last month to report this kind of crap operations. It's a shame as this used to be one of the best 'Six Flags' parks that acted more like a Busch park!
  17. This one definitely spun more than the US versions that we've done! I barely made it through!
  18. ^That spinning mouse closes whenever there is even a slight chance for rain. It was closed on our visit, and has been closed probably half the time we've been to that park. Like you said, at a park with as many interesting rides as Cosmoworld, you really don't miss it!
  19. I'm not going to the park this year so don't have a big stake or interest in following the always hanging overhead Lightning Rod drama, but as I've said before, I just wish the park would be more honest and open with what's happening and when they think it will be up or down. It's not fair to guests who travel and make plans to be so day to day, changing descriptions slightly, etc.
  20. Similar to the "Super 8 that's too good to be a Super 8", we stay at a "Days Inn that's much less scary than a normal Days Inn" and it's in a great location in between Hershey and Knoebels. https://www.wyndhamhotels.com/days-inn/jonestown-pennsylvania/days-inn-lebanon-fort-indiantown-gap/overview?CID=LC:DI::GGL:RIO:National:09915&iata=00065402
  21. I do want to address a few Fuji Q points as everyone seems to be throwing a LOT of praise in their direction... - Yes, we had a really good day but it was not without effort, money, and some decent weather. - Fujiyama was closed (and we knew it would be as it was scheduled down for the day on their calendar about a month out). We have found that the park is MUCH more manageable on weekdays due to crowds, but something will always be closed on a weekday so this is important to note when you schedule going to the park. - We paid $12 x three rides for each participant on top of admission to get them a skip the line ticket for the other big three coasters. Even with minimal crowds these tickets were needed to avoid hour plus long lines. Sometimes these skip the line tickets are randomly not offered, sometimes they are sold out before you arrive, and sometimes you can't get them for what you want. They recently started selling them online three days prior to some day visits, but only to people with Japanese Yahoo accounts. - Yes, operations were MUCH better, but Eejanaika opened with one train, and then put the second train on one hour after opening which was frustrating. Dodonpa has super low capacity, so with the skip the line tickets taking about half of each train and two, eight person trains running...well, you do the math on capacity there. - Weather ended up mostly in our favor. Weather can really derail this park fast. We did have some wind on our visit which closed flat rides and the suspended junior coaster off and on throughout the day. - Food was MUCH MUCH improved and their kiosk ordering system was AWESOME!!! - We had a friend who went two days after we did and had a terrible time. Only one coaster was running, it had a 240min line, and they were not selling the fast pass for it. It was windy he said. That was the FujiQ visit we were used to. I hope that his visit was the anomaly these days and not ours, but we don't have enough visits and statistics to really confirm that the park has indeed turned the corner. I truly hope it has, as we had a great time and will return again soon!
  22. The scariest part of that stupid drop tower wasn't just the lack of restraints, but the lack of anything to hold on to! Super creepy. Also, Fritz's is super high on my must return to list. Such a great combination of fun!
