  1. The girls had a slight bummer of a day at Nagashima SpaLand as they took out the big interactive Pokemon attraction. It was in the large arcade building near White Cyclone. I can only hope that they had to take it out for some RMC goodness and not just for no reason. That Arashi ride was insane, truly the *correct* way to run it, not like how some parks have them pretty neutered.
  2. Wow. Is there anything Canada isn't better than us in!?!?
  3. Totally agree with you on both accounts. Very nice to have so many food options at the park that are more than passable! And on the other hand, the women's restrooms were equally gross. It was one of those situations where you felt that using the sink would make your hands dirtier!
  4. ^Yeah, the amount of bugs in webs I saw led me to be very frightened about the size of the spiders that must be around!
  5. What are you referencing? Probably the terrible reviews from the ride at SFDK! "Shaky" "Slow" "No interaction with the other side" "Rough" "Uninteresting"
  6. Changing direction for a minute...what's going on with the bugs at Cedar Point!!??! I thought in the past the muffleheads were gone by June?? This trip the first week of August had the WORST case of bugs I've ever dealt with at the park. Is this a global warming thing or what? It's one thing hitting them at 70-100mph on various rides, but there were also normal guests complaining about their $400+/night hotel room balconies being unusable due to so many bugs on everything that they couldn't even see through the screen.
  7. Yeah. You really need to hit up Kawasemi after it’s warmed up and with a train full of westerners!
  8. ^It's really what you like better. A lot of people base camp at the Knott's hotel (especially if they'll also be visiting Disney on the trip). But if you don't like to get up early, switching hotels is also possible.
  9. ^^Chuck looks like he's in an equal amount of pain behind you!
  10. Thanks for the update Chuck! Hopefully damage isn't too bad and one of the Virginia Volcano themed rides can get open again!
  11. ^Yes, but this is SV's first season and LR's THIRD!!!! Even TTD had it's act mostly together by now!
  12. ^I think it’s quite natural for people to be blaming the launch as there are plenty of other RMC’s out there that work just fine and this one doesn’t. The difference? Launch.
  13. For those flying in, there are AMAZING airfares right now! Even Delta (a real airline!) is less than $200 round trip across the country! Book now people!
  14. Honestly, I think this needs to be the end of all of these. They just don't seem to have the safety record that they should. I feel like every year we get some story of an accident or death on one around the country. Ugh, I just watched some of the videos and it's pretty bad. These vehicles are not good cars and they're not good boats, also I understand that storms can come on quickly (I live in Florida!), but it seems someone made a mistake having the boat out when a storm like that came through.
  15. Ugh, don't get me started on the lack of fast trains here!!!
  16. ^This Japan trip was $3995 for 15 nights. Included a bunch of awesomeness.
  17. ^Get the ride all day wristband with the coasters option. It's $5 cheaper if you buy it ahead of time online.
  18. I don't think there's that much complaining about the name compared to normal complaining about ride names (Flight Deck). If anything, I think most people realize this is a great LOCAL name.
  19. Yeah, but a 'cut of the merchandise' is probably enough to pay for the coaster!!! Sports clothing and memorabilia is crazy priced and any new outlet to sell their Steelers merchandise is worth a pretty penny.
  20. So how much of the coaster/area did the Steelers pay for? 50%? That's some REALLY heavy theming for Kennywood. Don't really care about sports so the name is weird, but I can see how it would really appeal to the locals and this is mostly a locals park so makes sense. Ride looks very different, should be interesting to see once it's actually under real construction.
  21. Same, as much as I like rapids rides I like not being totally soaked more. (I still want one of these in a waterpark, then I'd ride it all day) I feel you, but obviously these rapids rides are quite popular as they get lines and keep getting built. I can tell you that kids LOVE them. KT is at a Disney camp this week and the highlight for most of the kids is riding Kali River Rapids, maybe because all of us no fun adults don't normally let them ride and get soaked in their clothes? Also, it's hot here like 11 months out of the year so it's a good place for a rapids!
