  1. ^I miss Skippy! Still have my plush of him!
  2. I'm sure some of our more HHN Enthusiasts can answer better but... - Event at BOTH parks - New things every year that were different from all other events such as the Foam Party at IOA or the Foam Party in old Kong building - Houses with interesting gimmicks (indoor attraction buildings and outside, wearing head lamps, complete darkness houses, etc.) - Haunting attractions (Jack on Jaws and Earthquake!!!!) - More entertainment - Friendlier event with less people (no people all in black waving flashlights at the ground yelling at you to keep moving every five feet)
  3. I completely agree, but I think we live in a different world now and will never see events like those again.
  4. ^Agreed. I got the feel that this could someday be a 'destination resort'. Picture a hotel overlooking the animals, all of the nature activities in the area, and some kick ass rides!
  5. Also, if you get that right kind of nylon windbreaker jacket it can also be terrifyingly good. Like the other poster said, experiment now, reap the rewards later!
  6. To me they taste like Falafel. They're awesome and seem to be one of the more 'talked about' items this year.
  7. Welp, sorry for perpetuating internet bullsh*t. Oh, don't worry, I'm not blaming you as there were some decent (albeit Jersey) outlets reporting it!
  8. So Bowcraft just posted on Facebook that they're NOT closing! It was (according to them) all rumors and the media ran wild.
  9. Daytime crowds will be very light for you. Like you said, the only time you'll see bad crowds will be for the night time halloween event at BGT.
  10. ^More reliable than some of the Disney Click Bait sites but not the best out there! Seriously though, like you said, none of this is a surprise including the date. We actually filmed a bit of the ride last week in anticipation of the closing.
  11. ^Thanks for the translation...certainly interesting!
  12. ^^Interesting that you had that problem. We were at the event hitting up food booths from 1-6pm on that same super busy Saturday and never waited more than 10 minutes. I agree the lines looked scary, pouring outside of the queues, and I was prepared to wait quite a bit but they moved faster than ever before in previous years. Next time, give it a try and wait. I really think they've improved their POS and delivery systems and they go quick.
  13. I have vague recollections of this park existing. Here's our report from when we visited in 2011 complete with some POV's! http://www.themeparkreview.com/parks/photo.php?pageid=319&linkid=10878
  14. Dodonpa is the only reason I go to Fuji Q. So that means there's a really big chance they'll change it for the worse. As others have said, they better not mess with the launch. It is by far the most extreme moment on ANY coaster in the world.
  15. 4-across It's Fuji-Q, they will reduce capacity turning it into one seat per row. Exactly what I was thinking Larry!!! Can they somehow make it the first single person launched coaster!?!?
  16. They're not taking it out because they need the space, they're taking it out because it now no longer wins on the cost/benefit analysis.
  17. Maybe next summer. Like others have said, I'm sure it's fine and fun, but it's hard for us to get excited about a big B&M. I'm hoping to be proven wrong and it really is different.
  18. Did anyone else see an article that the park was evacuated yesterday afternoon due to a call in threat? I do t know which is worse, the threat, or the article said there were 3000 people evacuated which seems awfully low for a Saturday afternoon!
  19. These awards really haven't been any sort of accurate ever, lately they've become even more laughable. Don't stress about them or what's on their top 10 list. In fact their top 10 list is probably slightly more accurate than that amazing USA Today too 10 list of Halloween Events that listed ONLY Cedar Fair parks! Lol!
  20. I'd like to learn more about how the automatic braking works on these Wiegand models. I've been on a bunch of them, multiple times and depending on the specific car you get the ride can really be changed. I wonder if some cars are 'less maintained' or just closer to their maintenance cycle and therefore don't brake quite as well. There were a few of us in Pigeon Forge who especially noticed this on the two mountain coasters there. We had two rides each on the Goats version and my first ride was braked to death. The second time I went (different car) I actually had to let up because it was going so fast and not limiting me. I had a similar experience on others where some cars go super fast compared to others.
