  2. This is absoulutely the most pointless thread ever, but yes. I'm 13 and I've been on Kingda Ka. I went on it when I was 11... and so did a great majority of my friends, as well as fellow coaster addicts. (What is the point of this thread?)
  3. I really enjoy the hangtime on Medusa at GADV. The Zero G Roll, that thing is awesome . Also, the Dive Loop, it's is very noticable in the front row, on the left side -coastakid
  4. During the offseason I usually take a trip down to Florida, or go on a nice vacation to somewhere WARM, so it is usually not that bad. If I don't go on vacation, I just spend my time skiing. Thats good enough for me; 1) Fun 2) Fast paced 3) Adrenaline pumping 4) HIGH! (Especially Jiminy Peak in MA seeing as they have the Mountain Coaster which is incredibly fun), and trust me, I NEVER lose any interest in coasters...
  5. Six Flags Great Adventure 5x Six Flags New England x2 Lake Compounce x3 Cedar Point x2 Geauga Lake Hershey Park x2
  6. Are the cars going to receive a shell to cover all the metal? IMO, I don't think that they look too nice, but not shabby anyhow... I've never ridden the original X, so hopefully when I get out there soon X2 won't disappoint me!
  7. ^ HAHA Dainan. That looks exactly like JR's and my TTD pic fom front row at night... Oh goodness that was a bad idea. I reallllyyy don't like bugs (ecspecially when there splattered all over me). That looked like a lot of fun anyways and you got the meet Ira! That's like an experience in its own... (I'm NOT explaining). I'm still mad I'm not going to be able to hit any parks until next spring and hopefully I'll get to see you again! Maybe at Coney Island again or something along those lines. -Coastakid (Jon)
  8. That ruined my day :[ I love Catapult and Rodeo! I make sure to ride them every visit and I can't believe they're leaving. When I went to the park 2 weeks ago I waited a 45 minutes for Catapult, so it IS popular. Coastakid is sad
  9. ^ I was at SFNE on sunday and Superman was down as expected. I did not see the red tran anywhere, but the blue train is still on the transfer. Catapult was up and running the whole time I was there.
  10. El Toro, backrow = Haha it's so intense that I could hardly Breathe. I don't know what all the talk about Millennium Force is... I didnt't feel anything in my stomach. Now on the otherhand, Maverick is a different story!!!
  11. But then why do all the other Six Flag's coasters say the per train capacity?
  12. I just want to point out something. Before the announcements were taken off the websites, the stats for the Dark Night Coaster said the capacity was 36 peple... while Kingda Ka's still say 18 people as well as all the other coasters. Maybe the 36 people was per train!. Did anyone think that maybe this coaster in fact not be a wildmouse, but infact a spinning coaster with 6 hairpin turns? Also, in the recently removed logo, the background showed a few hairpin turns as well as a twisting drop! Whatever this turns out to be, I know it will be a great addition to all three parks. -Coastakid
  13. ^ I think he emant the parks having 2 of the same coasters... Well anyhow, I'm excited for both of these coasters since I live somewhere inbetween them and will get to experience both of them... i haven't decided if thats good or bad?! Hopefully its themed nicely!
  14. It is running very slow as shown in the video now, but I think as testing proceeds, the wheels will "wear in" and it will definitely pick up much more speed, ecspecially towards the end.
  15. I was just wondering, since in the logo the horns of the "thing" are both spirals, i was just thinking that maybe they are changing the back spike to a spiral too? Well I can't wait to ride this next season even if that doesn't happen!
  16. I used to always drive by New Roc City with my dad when I used to go to work with him and be like, "DADDY! THERES A DROP RIDE LIKE AT SIX FLAGS!". And he'd be like,"No, it's just a lighting rod." until I was on my way back from a mets game around 4 years ago and saw the Space Shot run and started freaking out in the car... I went to New Roc City for the first time 3 years ago. I love it there :]
  17. ...http://www.meadowlandsxanadu.com/static/node1304.jsp;jsessionid=a_OymMx7mja9yU--lt XANADU, in the Meadowlands in New Jersey is opening in 2008 (I pass it everytime I go to GADV and it looks sick!). It is going to even have a coaster thats more than a mile on the rooftop, and an observation wheel similar to the London Eye. Thats just a start to what they Have. Go on the Website and look around. I am so excited for it!
  18. ^ When you say "tearing" itself apart... what do you mean by that. And if it is, why is it running?! I would still love to see one of these "Giant Top Spins"
  19. I would love to see an outdoor Giant Topspin. Those rides look really cool. I've been on quite a few normal Topspins (fair operated & other parks) and loved them all even if they ran weak programs. I highly doubt Cedar Point would run a weak program anyways! If we are talking about coasters, I would like to see a new looping coaster. Something like Colossus at Thorpe Park except maybe more spread out with a few airtime hills and more comfortable restraints.
  20. Right now we have no idea what this coaster is going to turn up to be. All we know is that it is made by B&M and it is 175 + feet. I have this odd feeling with all these different pictures they are showing that we could see a B&M with a possible launch, airtime, and inversions! I'm not trying to sound out of the question but what else would all these different coaster pictures mean! -coastakid
  21. ^ Will the Dive machine model have a holding break?
  22. ^ Kingda Ka is hardly down for a long time. The first and second season were pretty horrible considering breakdowns, but now, it's running better than ever. Kingda Ka was just down for a few days for scheduled maintenance, not a breakdown.
  23. ^ When i was there on the July 24th-25th, it broke down 6 times while I was in line. Two times were rollbacks but the rollbacks were only two trains apart so they had to go see what was wrong and then it was open again. So right there, one time in line, it was closed three times. Another time they weren't letting people in line becuase it was having, "minor technical difficiulties". The next two breakdowns I witnessed were bringing the train out into launch position and the train not launching. (This all took place while being in line 3 times.) I have only witnessed four in line breakdowns for the 10 rides I've had on Kingda ka BTW I like TTD over Kingda Ka anyday so I'm not bashing TTD or something, just saying I think Kingda Ka now is more reliable than TTD. Kingda Ka is open again and running better than ever.
  24. I wonder what kind of floor retracting system this car would use to load, and unload. Thats the first thing that popped into my head when I saw this train. I personally have never been on an x-car coaster but they IMO look like a lot of fun! -coastakid
