Theme park Passes Thread
fatdaddy replied to the ghost's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
At this point I'm down to Knott's, Sea World and Universal Hollywood. Really not going to Disney til Car's land opens, never been to Legoland and the kids don't seem to care, gonna get Six Flags passes again next year. Thing thats gonna suck is when my boy turns 3 that's gonna mean 5 passes to buy. Of course, i have passes to San Diego Zoo/Wild Animal Park, Santa Ana Zoo, and Orange Empire Railway Museum, but wouldn't consider those theme parks. -

Thats what women usually say after I give them a Perilous Plunge. <-(bad attempt at humor) -
If you have kids, you gotta play. I think a lot of people confuse their lack of skill for games being rigged. Really, now i see a lot of games that are set up in a way that you win, it's better to see people walking around with prizes to get more people to play. Most places charge you 3 bucks to win something that costs them less than a dollar. Even those big prizes cost um next to nothing, so just the fact that you play at all makes them money.

I usually stick um in my shirt, but last time i did that they stopped the ride on the lift and sent someone up to take them from me, I felt pretty retarded.

Does anyone use RSS feeds?
fatdaddy replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Pretty much I think for what you would use um for, twitter or facebook could do the job. -
Just curious, do you ever plan on doing any short trips to a single park for multiple days? I mean some parks seem pretty awesome and it seems like it would take at least 2 days or more to experience them fully. It seems like a lot of people have scheduling issues with the longer trips, where as a two or three day excursion might be more manageable. Of course air fare sucks and it's easier to justify spending the cash if it's for a longer trip. Just think it would be cool to see a more relaxing, vacation type trip, as opposed to the all out coaster blitz type. (I'm old and tired, shhhh, don't tell anyone.)

First off, some of the pictures look washed out, not sure if this is a settings thing or a camera thing. Just thought I'd give you a honest opinion. The ones that look good look really good, wouldn't know they were from a cell camera. Ok, loved the report, I usually just pass by Magic Mountain reports, because there are so many, but you had alot of pictures most people probably wouldn't take. Oh, and I've always liked viper. I know people say its rough, but I really have never had it be that bad. I guess really i like loops, so Viper is right up my alley.

^Pretty sure i used my pass there before, I can't remember, but there was some issue where i could use it for one thing, but not another. I really do wish there was some sort of hotline or something where you could text and get answers when things like that happen. I mean as you say, a lot of the employees have no idea what the discount is, or that they even exist.

Magic Mountain, please get this flatride!
fatdaddy replied to alexinla's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Correction, Magic Mountain got rid of their tilt a whirl, which i would prefer that to this. Actually I would prefer to see them bring back the crazy barrels, probably would sell more beer if they did. -
Am I the only one who cares where Shaq ends up, I kinda would like to see him go to Celtics.

Cool report, glad you liked Knott's. Did you get a chance to go up the street to Adventure City and get the two credits? -

Favorite Dark Ride
fatdaddy replied to pgathriller's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^Pretty much most dark rides are to dazzle children, I mean a good part of the magic of Disneyland is their awesome dark rides, which are mostly for kids. But, on the subject of scarey dark rides, you can't beat a carnival haunted buggy ride that has real people inside to scare you, nothing scarier than a drunken carnie in a Frankenstein mask popping out from behind a curtain. I think this is probably the inspiration for all the Halloween scare events you see now. Oh and Mr. Toad at Disneyland is awesome. -
What Was The Last Coaster You Rode?
fatdaddy replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Mummy at Universal Hollywood, wasn't as smooth as I remember, haven't ridden it in awhile. Everybody must have been on the tram to see Kong, because there was less than a five minute wait. -
First off, I don't think Rocket Rods was ever the amazing ride that was going to save TL. The fact is that Rocket Rods was half a$$ed by Disney after they lost sponsorship that was supposed to pay for the People Mover track to be banked, which cause the ride to have to brake hard in the turns, and pretty much the braking lead to the ride breaking. Had it been done properly I'm sure it would have been a great ride, but what was actually built was mediocre at best. I would take the People Mover and Adventures Through Inner Space over Rocket Rods any day.
