  1. DingDingDing!! We have a winner!!!! Yeah it sucks, but can't they run a different program than Disney did, and those scream shields gotta go. Besides that I think It would be a much better fit for SFMM than it was at DCA. Second, I think the cup holders are before the queue, so no real difference in wait time, just don't have to get a locker for a cup.
  2. I hope they get those souvenir cup holders at SFMM soon. I don't really take anything that needs to be put in a lock*r, but SFMM is so hot, and the terrain is a workout, I really love the refillable cup. Up until now I been using my wife as a cupholder, pretty sure it was in our vows.
  3. Cup holders are awesome, that was my favorite part of this update. That's always been my 1 issue with the lo¢ker thing. Of course, as soon as something good happens people gotta crap on it. I mean, already people are saying that are gonna get stolen, or someones gonna drink outta your bottle. If your that paranoid get a locker and I will gladly put my drink in the holder. I have kids, so I've been leaving my soda on the stroller when I go on rides for years, I never came back and found my bottle, or anything else, missing. I'm sure it happens, I know one lady had her whole stroller stolen, but she left her purse on it, they found it later in the bathroom(minus her wallet). Really anybody could go over to my stroller while I'm riding the train around disneyland and get all the fruit roll-ups and juice boxes they wanted, but of course they could be breaking into my car, or my house too. And for you germ phobes they might be at your house coughing swine flu on your door knob. Anyway, great update, and is it me or has Hanno been wearing the same shorts since the UK trip? Just wondering.
  4. ^I would really try to get that deposit in if you even think you might be able to go. There is a lot of interest in these trips, and if you wanna secure a spot you should do it now. As Larry said, the deposits are refundable through March 18, and how often are you going to get an opportunity to go on a trip where the trip planners are right there with you.
  5. All I can say is that crowds should be lightening up at both parks, since a lot of the kids in SoCal go back to school this week. And, as far as not being disappointed by SFMM, they didn't get Mr.Six up and running, which disappointed my daughter, she was really looking forward to having another coaster to ride. Beside that, Six Flags has changed management and who knows what kind of priority SFMM gets. Only time will tell.
  6. ^^Please lets not start that whole discussion again.
  7. The most dangerous theme park attraction is the food, It'll kill ya, but it's so tasty. I need funnel cake with ice cream. Really, more accidents happen on those inflatable bouncy things than anything, but usually, as always, it is people being stupid or operators being careless.
  8. ^Really, nobody gave a crap about S:TE til now, I guess if this is a marketing ploy to get people talking it worked. I think considering they couldn't get a rollerskater up on a deadline, I'm thinking what if they screw this up too. I'm gonna try to go back to not caring 'til they announce something. They still haven't said if they got the height requirement changed for Mr.Six.
  9. Best update yet. That cave tour alone makes that park awesome, was that a planned part of the trip, or did a group of you just happen to show up at the same time?
  10. ^The one at Belmont has 2 sets of seats, but other than that it looks pretty much like the same ride type. I was there last week and they had some guys working on the install, but by time I made my way over to ask questions they were gone. It's very small, but if it spins like it looks it might be fun. Actually, looking at it i was wondering if I would even fit in the seats, they look tiny.
  11. ^So your saying it is just me. No, really your probably right. I've known people who didn't even know there were Disney parks outside the U.S..
  12. Is it just me or is it going to be very anticlimactic if, in the end, the big surprise is that we got what some other park already has. I mean why not just announce it and let us be excited about the coming attraction. Everyone is already going to be critiquing it long before it opens, based on the other ride, what if everyone says it sucks?
  13. ^That is partially true, ACE "a club for fat people" is pretty accurate.
  14. Spent the day at Calico Ghost Town in Yermo. My daughter loves the Mystery Shack, wish she could have seen the one at Knott's. Of course, the kids had to pan for gold too, but I think Knott's has a better set up for that.
  15. Great rides, followed by great food. Looks like you guys are having way too much fun.
  16. The problem is that even with knowing that there will be a backward launch, it still leaves so many questions. Being as they said it won't be Bizzaro, if it's Superman going backwards, do they change the name to Superman the Retreat?
  17. ^The ladybugs "spin" not whip, actually looking at this, although it's the same mechanism, the whip element makes it a totally different ride for me. Of course, my opinion could change when it opens. Yes, Maliboomer sucked. I rode it twice, first time: I found out it sucked, second time:confirmed it sucked.
  18. I think that, as someone mentioned before, if they do the backward launch (pretty sure it's gonna happen), they would have to tilt the seats back and an angle. This would eliminate the head whip, because your head would be laid back. Whiplash in car accidents usually happens at low speeds, it's not the force, but the sudden jerking motion. In any case if Intamin is doing this with the other coaster as well, I would wager to say that they have worked out all these design issues already. EDIT- On second thought, why add to the speculation.
  19. ^I didn't know Denmark was in middle America. And, may I request more coverage of food, I am always interested in the quirky food some of these places have. I finally got the bacon/chocolate funnel cake at Knott's, who knew chocolate and bacon went together?
  20. I think there has been so much discussion about S:TE that I don't care anymore, at least 'til someone has something confirmed to talk about.
  21. Get lasik. If they don't let you wear glasses and you want to see, that's pretty much all you can do. No offense, but this thread is turning into "list of coasters you can ride with your glasses on".
  22. ^I'll just man up and say it, Leslie Hall frightens me!!!
  23. Oh, one more thing, my son rode his first roller coaster today at Camp Snoopy. He likes to go fast, he's only 2 and I'm already afraid of what's going to happen when he gets a car. He keeps pointing at Supreme Scream and saying "ride that", guess he'll be on TPR trips in a few years too.
  24. To be a ride operator you need to be one of the following... 1. Adult. 2. High school graduate. There are some departments that employ minors, such as Park Services. And, you have to be able to spot people with sunglasses tucked in their shirt, so you can stop the ride and make them look like stupid.
  25. Nick Universe look's awesome, I've been planning a trip there with the kid's for awhile, but seeing it TPR style makes me wanna go even more. Needless to say, I am keeping an eye on this trip and using it to plan my own.
