  1. ^ Or, you know, don't, because they're not closing.
  2. Saw the thread bumped, thought it burned to the ground finally. I was disappointed.
  3. Ya damn right it is! For me it's Phoenix at Knoebels.
  4. Visited the grove yesterday and had an excellent day, as usual! I swear this place can do no wrong. Phoenix was really hauling through the course delivering more airtime than I've ever had! It was so intense that I flew higher than the seat divider! Of course I nearly fractured my butthole when gravity kicked back in but it was awesome! Speaking of things running more intense than I've felt before, the bumper cars! We spent about an hour re-riding and every time was bone-shaking in the best way! I was two-wheeling it all over the arena from the chaos. Some poor schmuck got rocked so hard their lens flew out of their glasses and landed on the floor! Best bumper cars around is just scratching the surface. These things are downright mean and the most fun I'll ever have at a park! Does that make me a masochist? The haunted house had some TLC in the off season, it seems. Granted I've not been to the park in a few years (living out in Vegas and all that jazz) but everything was looking nice and spiffy! The rest of the park was fantastic, as always, and I can't wait to head back up that way soon.
  5. Packs a punch to my nuts, that's for sure.
  6. Edit - To follow up on my earlier post, I didn't bother checking out the ride today. 60 degrees, overcast, and I didn't feel like fighting the traffic. I'll get to it sometime this summer but a $10 ride isn't worth a trip to OC alone.
  7. Seriously. It's like Universal was so preoccupied with ripping off Magic Bands they didn't even look at other water parks that have extremely efficient operations, namely Wild Wadi and their Master Blaster queue system. Yeah, it's not for every slide there but the fact that you can sit in a tube for-friggin-ever and constantly slide around the park is wonderful. As for the insane line length for the coaster slide, how does Holiday World have two immensely popular LIM water coasters with lines that move faster than any I've ever seen? Seriously, I hardly stood in place, just constant movement through the queues. Universal needs to send out some recon teams FAST.
  8. Looks excellent! Movie Park has been needing a large-scale thrill ride for a while, now. I'm glad to see this turned out so well!
  9. So media day went well but as soon as it was open to the public everything they were banking on being "revolutionary" (read - done years ago by Disney) failed miserably? Sounds about right for Universal.
  10. Oh, holy crap! Maybe I'll shoot down there on Monday to give it a try. I'm gonna be in Mays Landing visiting family anyway.
  11. Any further update? Memorial Day weekend seems like something they don't want to miss. Twice.
  12. Yep. This is probably going to be the reason I hop on a plane in the near future.
  13. Dude, seriously, look above the 6 on your keyboard.
  14. Huh, very strange. Flop because people hate VR or a flop because people don't want to walk a mile to try it?
  15. Soooooo what you're saying is we have maybe 8-10 years remaining of quality before they churn out snooze machines, right? No. I'm just saying that it's interesting to see the parallels between RMC's first indulgence into a ground up steel coaster and a tubularsupport system and B&M's early work. ---> The Joke. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------> You.
  16. ^ Don't forget copious amounts of backwoods moonshine.
  17. Soooooo what you're saying is we have maybe 8-10 years remaining of quality before they churn out snooze machines, right?
  18. Those aren't inversions. They're the most ridiculously twisted lengths of steel on earth that try their best to eject you from your seat. But seriously, they're not inversions. There's only one upside-down moment and it isn't outside.
  19. Clearly you've never been to Holiday World. There's a lot of wing coasters shorter than the one at Holiday World lol Upon further research, turns out you're right. Wild Eagle is actually the 4th longest, it seems. However, it sure feels like the shortest. I've been on 5 of the 8 that exist and Thunderbird is easily the one I wouldn't mind skipping in the future.
  20. Alright, someone that lives in Virginia should know better than me. We're thinking of doing a 2-day trip to hit Kings Dominion and Busch Gardens on May 29th and 30th. Am I a complete and total psychopath thinking of visiting the park on Memorial Day? Should we just wait an extra week and hit the parks on June 5th and 6th?
  21. Clearly you've never been to Holiday World.
