  1. Make it 5, gents. As soon as I saw it bumped I said out loud, "who died now?"
  2. I'm waiting until these morons burn the hell out of their face. Those nozzles are incredibly hot. Also it's glycerin base. Not damaging but will definitely make you cough.
  3. ^ Hey, now! Don't forget the Jimmy Fallon enthusiasts!
  4. Hi all! The lady and I just decided today we would be taking a trip to Dollywood for Christmas In The Smokies! I've been to the event before and I love it, so I don't have any questions regarding the event itself. I'm more curious in the best time to go. See, we live outside of Philly. The drive down to Pigeon Forge is about 10 hours. Right now we're looking at the first week of December to take advantage of the lull between Thanksgiving and Christmas crowds. As I recall the last time I visited the vast majority of visitors to the event were focused on the shows, not the rides. I see on the website, though, that they're only open in the afternoon and evening that week, no morning hours. The plan as it stands is to drive down Monday, December 4th, make fools of ourselves on go-karts and other horrendous tourist attractions, hit the park on Tuesday the 5th, then head back on the 6th. Personally, I can take more time off, so a second day at the park is very tempting. It would also give us much more time to mix rides and shows since they have so much happening during this event. Do you think we'd be fine that week with an already truncated operational schedule? Should we definitely go for the extra day? Should we reschedule for the week of Thanksgiving where the park opens at 11am? That would be driving on the 20th, park on the 21st and possibly 22nd, then driving through the night to my sister's place to gorge on turkey. Thanks for the help!
  5. ^ Personally I'd be OK spending the night in the jail cell in Bar Colosseo, but that's just me.
  6. Looks beautiful. Knowing Europa there will be plenty of surprises in store both at Rulantica and the new hotel. Can't wait to go back a third time to experience it all!
  7. Man up. Hope for a Superman car to get shot up the tower for an extra shaky thrill.
  8. That was me, and I did, and it wasn't anything special. This isn't #FakeNews. I swear to Jebus it was operating and I took a ride. Probably just caught a soft opening to training or something, but many others rode it that day, too.
  9. Weighing in on haunts - Honestly, Eastern State isn't anything special. It's cool that it's located in the crumbing prison but the actors are generally lazy and sweet jesus the lines are absurd. If your first night is at a hotel by Hershey FOR THE LOVE OF GOD GO TO FIELD OF SCREAMS INSTEAD!!!!!!!! Field Of Screams is just outside of Lancaster and it's probably the best haunt event in PA. Seriously, go. Their hayride alone is worth the trip. Pennhurst is pretty damn awesome, so no worries there. Just make sure you don't blow through the haunts too quickly. The price they charge is a bit high for what's offered so take your time.
  10. It was certainly a decent enough way to get out of the heat for an hour. That's about all I can say about it.
  11. The skulls were all thrown away in 2010 when they re-themed the queue to Potter. Wait, really? I've been on them since the retheme and I could have sworn some were still there. I definitely remember the skeletons and frozen knights being removed in favor of crappy tents and what not but the winding catacombs section remained. Guess my memory is screwing with me.
  12. It's for the restaurant and a new bench. In other news, looks like Dorney's Halloween Haunt was fully unveiled. I'll be making the trip at the end of this month for sure! https://www.dorneypark.com/play/haunt
  13. ^ That looks absolutely disgusting.
  14. What's the over/under on the new Potter attraction having some crappy tribute to the Dragons? Like they spare one of the skulls from the queue that you see for .0001 second during the ride.
  15. Wow, those pictures really bring to light a lot of the fun that Universal as a whole has killed off in recent years. Comcast really has sucked the life out of the place in favor of cash cow fan service.
  16. ^ What do you think was missing? Aside from some sound effects and blacklight cutouts ala Rock N' Rollercoaster there's nothing.
  17. Hold up a second. There's no way German beer is made by humans. It's too perfect.
  18. Considering they can't staff the park in the middle of summer on peak days, don't be surprised when 75% of the rides are closed.
  19. Put an ACE member on that thing and watch it crumble instantly.
  20. Sooooooo, what was the announcement? The website only lists some new show and scarezone. Was that it?
  21. A Skywarp is way more of a coaster than a Super Loop. Also, CALLED IT! Guys! Guys guys guys! What if, hear me out...what if it's a Skywarp with, wait for it...CRAZY COUCHES AS THE TRAIN!
  22. Except that Karnan was not what I would call a "smooth" ride by any stretch of the imagination. I was too busy being thrown around like a rag doll owned by a redheaded stepchild to notice. It was too much fun. Maybe I should see a therapist.
  23. I'm not sure of any exact differences outside of the train, but in my experience most Eurofighters are smaller-scale and, while fun, can be rough. Infinity coasters are much larger and capable of being the greatest, most intense, ridiculous, absurd ride on the goddamn planet (Karnan).
  24. Why is everyone raising a stink about themeing along the course? Name ONE coaster (that isn't Fire In The Hole) at SDC that has themeing once the train leaves the station. One. Powder Keg's transfer track doesn't count.
