  1. ^ I'd agree with you if they ever use the thing.
  2. ^ I think with their Disney projects they're not too worried about business elsewhere.
  3. I've always loved that advertising. "Just when you think it's over, you'll complete your escape...backwards!" Yeah, backwards, all the way back to the starting point of said "escape." Not a very good escape, really.
  4. Good ol' Comcast making insane pricing options the norm.
  5. Translates to the following USD - $31.75 for the 3-attraction pass $44.50 and $50.87 for the 8-attraction pass. $106.84 for the combo with 3. $119.59 and $124.95 for the combo with 8. Still cheaper than the US parks, but not by much. Japan is still miles ahead of every other Disney park for value pricing...and everything else, for that matter.
  6. I mean, it helps that they have a huge machine shop literally down the road from the park to build (most of) their rides. But yeah, definitely not the Six Flags method of "we don't need spares, just order a new one when this one breaks."
  7. Riptide's footprint finally being utilized? It's clearly gonna be in that area of the park, just a matter of where exactly and how large.
  8. Call me crazy, but a WCB that's just two days at Knott's wouldn't be a bad thing, right?
  9. Taller than Iron Rattler and New Texas Giant? That means it'll have to be 180 feet tall at a bare minimum. That height coming from someone other than RMC is usually a sign of an extremely painful ride (Son Of Beast, anyone?). El Toro and Colossos are 181' and 164', respectively, but that's coming from Intamin's excellent plug and play system and even then we all know how bad Colossos got towards the huge refurb project. If the advertising isn't a lie, then this will be a must-ride for the first few seasons, then quickly become another rough, "maybe if the line isn't too long" ride.
  10. I give it until the start of 2020 to go back to 5 nights a week. Every time Cirque has ventured into a 7-night schedule or adding matinee performances it only lasts a few months.
  11. Potter may be way overplayed at this point, but if there's one thing Universal is known for then it's beating a dead horse until it stops printing money.
  12. My biggest takeaway was the guy making the third world country comments lives in northern Delaware. I mean, it takes one to know one, right?
  13. ^ I'd tag that video as NSFW since you're witnessing people die. Nothing gory but those seats that hit the supports certainly didn't survive.
  14. We were planning on going in early December, but looks like I'm going to delay that visit by a month or two.
  15. Oh no, now we can expect the Orlando fanboys to go to war with the California fanboys to brag about theirs opening first.
  16. ^ Anywhere, really. Erdinger is the beer of choice at the park, and it's actually cheaper inside the park than at the hotels.
  17. Looks like it broke at one of the joints that would be fastened with big ol' honkin nuts and bolts. In an effort to cut costs they probably bought replacements that weren't rated properly and, well, this.
  18. Going right in the middle of October is a gamble for how insane the crowds will be with fastpasses. If you were going in September I'd prefer the regular fastpass but VIP becomes a necessity as the event goes on as the crowds get even more psychotic closer to Halloween. Since it's a Saturday, though, I'd lean towards VIP if you have the budget.
  19. ^ Yeah, the exit path seems unnecessary for the carousels on the right. But I'm also not an engineer, so...
  20. The Vegas Cirque shows all have extremely high production costs. They wouldn't see a return on investment for at least 5 years, since the theaters are all custom built to the show. Hence why Broadway shows and residencies are easier...they're just touring acts easy to move in and out. This is a HUGE reason that "Absinthe" has been so mega-successful in their tent. Production costs are low while still being extremely impressive, and they can rotate out acts per show if they want. In fact, they already do, almost! Not changing acts between the two nightly shows, but they rotate acts daily. If you go to Absinthe on a Saturday night and again on Tuesday night there's going to be about 50% new acts you didn't see. I live here and I've seen the show 10+ times and each time is as good as the last!
  21. Curious to see if they replicate this haunt at Hollywood. It'd be a slap in the face of Knott's since their winter-themed haunt failed so miserably.
  22. ^ That reminds me. Does anyone know how Smuggler's Run cycles through the cockpits? Every video I've seen of the queue is so seamless. I know the main cockpit obviously rolls away from the loading zone and ends at a new exit zone with a new, damaged hallway, but no idea how it moves between the two. You say there's 4 carousels, so once you get put in the "holding pen" do you get divided there, are there 4 different holding pens, etc? Things like Mission: Space and ToT I was able to piece together pretty well, but this one has me baffled.
  23. FTFY As it stands, the wife and I are planning on visiting DLR during the first week of December. Usually then you'll miss the full holiday crowds while still getting the holiday events. I'm curious how psycho it'll be this year, though, and if Rise Of The Resistance will be open.
