  1. That's great to hear it's been running well! I always felt it was such a shame that one of the best rides in the world was constantly dead in the water.
  2. ^ So I've heard and I'm really excited to ride it eventually but it's still a simulator. A (probably) great simulator, yes, but to be better than every other ride at WDW? I'm finding that difficult to believe.
  3. I mean the entire place is a dumpster fire so everyone just assumed business as usual.
  4. Turns out you're one of the lucky ones!
  5. Full disclosure, I've not been to WDW since 2009 so I've not seen any of the updates or the entire Avatar area, but HUH?! You're probably one of those wackadoos that thinks Soarin' is some pinnacle of entertainment, as well. Just to clarify, I'm mostly kidding. Soarin' sucks donkey doo, though. The TDS Indy is wonderful. They made juuuuust enough minor changes to make the ride flow better. My only gripe is they removed any and all fire effects that Disneyland's version had though it's actually for the better because Disneyland can't keep those effects working for more than ten minutes at a time.
  6. Good ol' Chinesium. Harbor Freight is full of it.
  7. There had better be some Alien Robot Mummies in this ride or I'm going to be very disappointed.
  8. This is Universal. They've already blown this decade's budget on new, original attractions in Asia. The best you'll get is a slightly modified import of an existing attraction or Jimmy Fallon 2. Choose wisely.
  9. At least the Denver airport is a major hub so getting anywhere that has coasters is easy and generally decently-priced.
  10. ^ If that were true then the prices for Scary Farm wouldn't be at a large premium. See below - Saturday, October 9th prices per their website - Knott's Daytime - $59 admission, $99 Fast Lane, $20 parking Knott's Scary Farm - $77 admission, $159 Fright & Fast Lane, $25 parking But yeah, sure, I'm totally paying for haunt, not rides. Come on, man. In years past I've been able to enjoy Scary Farm with Fright Lane and the Boo-fet for $150-ish. Without the Boo-fet this year I'm already getting shafted for $236 before parking. Edit - You know, after doing that math and knowing I'll only be seeing one new haunt, one new scare zone, and two less coasters it really pisses me off.
  11. https://www.knotts.com/scheduled-ride-closures Just checked, both Xcelerator and Hang Time are still listed as dead in the water. I'm gonna be at Scary Farm this Saturday and, I'll be honest, I'll be a bit miffed about spending upwards of $200 $236(!!!) and not being able to ride either. I'm well aware that they can't control when things break but, you know, give us a break on the price if the two star attractions are out of commission. I just checked out The Old Joliet Haunted Prison outside of Chicago this past weekend and they gave the guests who purchased the Fastpass entry free zombie laser tag because there was no difference in wait between standby and Fastpass. Something small like that goes a VERY long way towards making people happy.
  12. I've not been to Knott's since Haunt 2018, but that third train was doing a whole fat load of good in the transfer area sitting directly next to the second train that wasn't in operation even though the line was 45+ minutes.
  13. ^ Yeah, there's no belt, but there's a giant lump of fiberglass that might as well require men to wear protection.
  14. ^ I honestly don't know if I prefer the single launch or the funky twisty spike.
  15. Well I'm certainly hyped for the park improvements!
  16. Quite literally every seat on that ride is a guaranteed drowning simulator. It's mental and I love it. That being said, I was lucky enough to be sat directly beneath one of the valves where the water comes pouring in. I basically took a five minute shower but the showerhead was a nonstop bucket of water being dumped on me and those next to me. I guess you can try to avoid those seats? There's really no point, though.
  17. No it isn't. Not at the current price. I can go next door to Shake Shack and get myself a large combo, plus a large concrete or milkshake, and still have a couple bucks leftover for the slot machines. I'd much rather do that than ride a geriatric coaster that crawls through most of the layout.
  18. They were trying to send a message. You didn't get it.
  19. ^ There's a difference between being stuck in gridlocked interstate traffic with no escape heading into the Cajon Pass, and driving around the surface streets of Hollywood with a billion different means of escape if Fairfax gets backed up.
