  1. No, I didn't. Although I've read an article recently on the lack of cleanliness of hotel cups, etc. So I'm pretty sure I know what the video is probably talking about. Yes, it's really gross. But nothing that I'm really going to lose sleep over.
  2. It's honestly just better not to worry about stuff like that. If you knew about all the things that could have been done to your food, etc you'd probably end up a nervous wreck living in a bubble. What doesn't kill you, will make you stronger ... most of the time. After working 5 years in a bakery I learned what to eat, and what not to eat.
  3. So we're idiots for not liking something you like? Sorry if I prefer not to have my back slammed into a rock hard seat back over and over again.
  4. I actually moved it down my list this time around. I thought it wasn't running nearly as well as I remember it when I first rode it opening year.
  5. I've been on 14/25. This is how I ranked them. [1]The Voyage [2]Thunderhead [3]Renegade [5]Balder [6]Cornball Express [7]Hades [8]Boulder Dash [10]Ozark Wildcat [11]Phoenix [13]Avalanche [19]Raven [29]Comet [41]Megafobia [55]Shivering Timbers
  6. You can't really compare RII to Voyage and BB though. BB had major issues with the construction. And Voyage is much larger, faster, and aggressive then RII should be. So I wouldn't think the same amount of wear and tear is going to be encountered.
  7. Without a car it won't be easy, or at very least it'll be somewhat costly. Honestly your best option could be to rent a car for a couple days. Without driving you'd have to take a bus or something to probably Cleavland or Cincinnati. Then from there fly to Toronto (most likely will be a connection somewhere else, direct to Toronto from those two cities might be hard). From Toronto you'd have to taxi/bus it from there. Though for being a major city, Toronto's airport is severely lacking in connection to public transit. Also Pearson is the #2 most expensive airport in the world. So honestly, renting a car and driving there and back would probably be easier and cheaper. Plus if you drove you could hit a few more parks on the way if you wished.
  8. There would have to actually be several major parks in Canada for you to be able to do that. Canadas Wonderland, La Ronde, Playland in Vancouver, and maybe West Edmonton Mall.
  9. There's not much of a market for used wooden coasters. They're just real hard to sell. Not nearly as easy to move as a steal coaster.
  10. Canadas Wonderland, Cedar Point, Waldamer, maybe Kennywood. That's really about it. Maybe another small trip or two. But nothing major. Gotta recover from my debts before doing any more big trips.
  11. ^ Smart ass. His picture was of an Intamin zero-g roll. That definetly wouldn't have any movement. I've spent entire rides on SLCs watching the side friction wheels. It's shocking just how much they come off the track.
  12. Yes, they have all three sets of wheels. But what I meant was that they aren't as tight to the track. There's some freedom of movement on woodies that steel coasters don't have.
  13. What works on a steel roller coaster doesn't always work on a wooden coaster. Wooden coasters work totally different then steel. The example you used has the train physically glued to the track with up stop wheels and side friction wheels. Not so much on a woodie. I'd say an inline twist is not possible on a woodie. And even if it was, no company is going to be dumb enough to attempt it. It obviously didn't work out for SoB.
  14. ^ The 90 degree on Hades you barely even notice. The 90 degree's on Voyage however I felt weren't necessarily intense, but they did kind of hurt.
  15. You can't "lie" about your credits. Count as you see fit, who cares what others think. Only count every other coaster you ride if you wish, or count every tenth coaster twice. It's just some random stat that doesn't really mean anything in the long run.
  16. ^ I hoped it was just a british translation. An in line twist would be even worse.
  17. Are you talking about a 90 degree banked turn that does a full 360 turn?? If so, please NO!! Those 90 degree banks are intense enough as is.
  18. Haha, nice. I figured Canada and Australia would be in similar situations. Both have massive amounts of unused wilderness. Canada might be one of the biggest countries in the world. But the vast majority of it is inhabitable.
  19. The video could have done without that monotone voice over though. Sounded weird when he'd say "hang on" with zero emotion. This ride looks pretty fun. I'll definetly be making a trip down at some point to ride it. Only more incentive to go back to such a fun little park.
  20. Last time I checked it was pretty obvious Dan was joking.
  21. That sign reminds me of a barber shop sign or something.
  22. You might be better off going the other way. See where you can fly to, and then see what would be close by. Pick just about any major city, and you should be able to find something close. If you get a rental car it should make your options just about unlimited.
  23. ^^ I think the winter weather has slowed them down.
  24. I guess that starts coming into a grey area. As unlikely as it is, there's still the chance that someone might dislike the ride that much. For me I do that exact thing with the rides I despise. Rides like Son of Beast, Beast, Predator get put at the bottom of my list behind the kiddy woodies, etc. But that's because I really do dislike them that much. I'm not on some personal agenda to put down SoB, and lift up my top ranked coasters. But what is Mitch going to do, go person to person asking "So why did you rank XX at the bottom?". He has to trust their opinion, and unforunatly that opens him up to get taken advantage of. But I definetly agree that it looks really fishy when you have a ride typically ranked so high being put right at the bottom.
  25. I just got real, real disturbing mental picture of how all of those would be used at the same time.
