Christmas just isn't the same once you're old enough to buy stuff for yourself. 90% of the time at my family Christmas is spent watching my nieces and nephew open gifts.

Mitch's poll attempts to correct for that. Considering there are several very highly ranked coasters in Europe and Japan there is no reason a coaster in Canada can't do just as well. For steel coasters Europe had 4 of the top 5 last year. It definetly does a better job then most polls. I'd guess that the ride will do better in Mitch's then it will the golden tickets. I'd guess that it won't do better then the 20s. -

I'm just looking forward to hanging out with family. I'm beyond the point of really caring too much about what I get. Maybe I'm getting old. Though my family is getting together for Christmas the day after my work Christmas party (which is open bar no spouses allowed). So I might just be happy with some earplugs to drown out the screaming kids while I curl up in the corner trying to nurse the hangover.

It won't, trust me. The golden tickets are dominated by certain markets like Cedar Point, etc. The rankings are heavily weigthed to where the votes are coming from. Behemoth won't rank high, because it won't have as much backing. And polls like Mitchs poll are going to have it lower, as it's ridership is not going to be as much as some of the existing top rides. Not to take anything away from the ride, it's probably going to be really good. But being in Canada means that it's not going end up as high on these rankings as it would if it was built in the US. These coaster rankings, regardless of which method you want to look at are influenced by enthusiasts. And frankly, Canadian coaster enthusiasts are probably out numbered by Ohio enthusasts at least 10 to 1. -

No it doesn't. It doesn't have the legions of over loyal fans to float it up the rankings. Coaster rankings are partly due to the ride, and partly due to the park/area it's in. Move Millenum Force from Cedar Point, and stick it in some out of the way obscure park, and it would fall far down the rankings. Even if this ride ends up blowing it's expecations out of the water, I doubt it's going to get very high on the rankings. Maybe after a few years or people riding it, it could move up a bit. But my guess would be that it comes in below all the other B&M hypers. -

^ Even if Behemoth is trimmed to death it'll probably be better then Vortex. I like Vortex, but there's really no way that this ride will not end up being the best ride in the park. Even if it comes in below expectations, really there's no contest. -

Excellent. Tear it down!!! No kidding. My nickname for it is a$$buster, The other woodie on the other side of the park is way more fun. When was the last time you were at the park? They retracked the bad section before the turnout last year on Minebuster. Now the ride is really smooth, but boring. Wild Beast however has gone totally to hell in the past two years. Rough as hell, potholes everywhere. -

Top Gun would have the longest lines. It's queue fills in the morning when the gates first open. After that, probably be close between Italian Job and Vortex (Arrow suspended). Italian Job will often have a 45 minte+ line. Though that is mostly due to it's bad capacity. I wonder what the line for Minebuster is going to be? Italian Job basically cut Minebuster's line to nothing. Now with Behemoth I wonder if anyone will go ride it. -

Also BGT has a few marquee coasters. CW now has one. So you know exactly where everyone is going as soon as the gates open. -

SPPN tends to be busier than a normal operating day. I've seen large crowds at SPPN before. Not too mention the fact that the employees are totally fresh and not working to capacity yet. So I'd fully expect a large line for Behemoth during SPPN. Actually, the last time I was at the event Skyrider was a 45 minute station wait. -

^ Neither would I if the line only holds 45 minutes. Though of course, I'm sure they wouldn't let the line stretch that far, without at least setting up temporary queues. Or doing some sort of ticket system. Still baffles me though why they would have such a small queue for such a major ride. -

This is a high capacity B&M remember. So in less than an hour I can get on Behemoth . Hmmm. How many times can i ride it on a 12 hour operating day . You won't get on it in under an hour at any point in the summer. Just because the queue line holds 45 minutes, doesn't mean that the line will be 45 minutes. If the line overflows all the way to Drop Zone, then all that means is that it will be a 45 minute wait once you get to the queue. -

Really?? This is a park that often has a 2 hour line for it's SLC in the summer. Hope they have some plan for an overflow queue, as people are going to be lining up in the midway. -

How else would you expect wheel chairs to get up to the station? It won't be an elevator for the normal line. Awesome update though. The ride is sure coming along. -

^ If you park in the Soak City lot, it wouldn't be as far.

Well you could always leave a cooler filled with ice and coke in your car. Probably cost about 1/4 of the park prices as well.

Tell that to GCI. From what I understand Thunderhead has had next to no track replaced since it opened. Seems pretty obvious to me that GG are getting a repuation for making aggressive rides, that need alot of work to keep them from tearing themselves apart. -

If you want to have a conversation while riding, then sit in the middle two seats. I'm typically too busy enjoying the ride itself to worry about talking to someone. The stadium seating could make for a better view from the outside seats, as well as more airtime. -
