  1. I always get those mixed up. I think I actually liked Timberline Twister better then the stock Mauer's, bu still not as good as the customs.
  2. So that's why it was closed Sat/Sun/Mon when I was there. I just assumed it was closed for maintenance reasons. (I had been reading how it's life chain was giving it problems opening weekend)
  3. Maurer Sohne easilly. Although only the custom models would I consder much better. The stock models like at Seabreeze and Waldameer I find less fun then then the custom models. Although there is quite the difference between the Gerstlauer's, even with the layouts being the same. Some spin great, like Rajin Cajun at Great America, some don't spin at all and just plain suck (like the one at Cypress Gardens). Exterminator at Kennywood though I like a lot, probably more then the stock Mauer's.
  4. And wasn't CCI known for greatly under reporting the cost of their rides? I think I remember hearing something about how their rides cost a lot more then reported.
  5. My sister used to go to Etobicoke School of the Arts. I was always dragged to her recitals. A few hours of torture for a 7 year old. Sounds like you had quite the trip.
  6. That really disappointed me as well. I stopped in on Saturday on my way to Cedar Point. Probably no more then 100-200 people in line, and it was a 45+ minute wait. Hopefully it's just a matter of getting the hang of operating it. I thought the ride was pretty good, just not nearly as intense as Hades or Voyage, but that was too be expected. Plus I only got to ride once in the middle of the train. Didn't have time to wait through the line again.
  7. I'm crossing my fingers this weekend. With scattered thunder showers predicted for Saturday and Sunday it could make out to be a crappy weekend. Though at least Monday looks decent, so I should be able to ride something.
  8. ^ Same here. I'm just hoping lightning stays away. A little bit of rain shouldn't hurt it. Might even make it better.
  9. Judging from the extensive track work Voyage got after its first season maybe this is expected wear and tear. Seems every single Gravity Group coaster has had to have significant track work. Although that will change to "almost all" in two days. Seems to me GG coasters are getting a reputation for being extremely aggresive, although at a very high cost.
  10. I'm not surprised. They obviously just weren't ready for the buzz this ride was going to cause. They have never had a ride of this caliber before, so they really couldn't guess how the crowds were going to react. Of course everyone is going to rush the ride when it's bigger then anything the park has ever built.
  11. Did they have a referendum?? If they can't have independance, then damn it they should be able to bring food into the theme park.
  12. Really? Where did you get that idea from? I've read nothing but scorn about La Ronde, and how it's operations are amongst the worst in the Six Flags chain.
  13. I honestly think I might put Raging Bull ahead of Behemoth. Both have similar drops and turnarounds, but I think I had more fun on Bull's second half, then on Behemoth's bunny hills. Though I definetly wouldn't put Raging Bull #2 on my overall list. That being said though I still want to ride Behemoth with full trains when running warm to get an idea of how it should run.
  14. I find it funny that after reading all these scathing reviews you voted an A in your own poll.
  15. Because it didn't do anything of substance. You float through the slowest, most pointless flume section, then do one dip, big drop, splash, done. Now add in the fact that the lazy ride ops made the line brutal if there was more then 5 people waiting. 20 to 30 people in line honestly would probably be an hour+ wait.
  16. That's a good point. A research paper is supposed to be based off of facts. You seem to be trying to use your personal opinion as facts. You need to back up everything you say. Don't use such vague, and possibly wrong statements. The teacher is probably going to rip apart quite a few of the statements you're trying to say.
  17. Nice TR! I've always wanted to go to Playland. But unforunatly being on the opposite end of the country doesn't help me.
  18. Because there are higher priorities in Quebec. Making sure English isn't used on signs is more important to them then a few dolphins.
  19. I'm not too surprised. Removing Dive to Atlantas drops Mt. Olympus' capacity by what, 20 people an hour? That ride had the worst capacity. And lazy ride ops didn't help it. And considering how slow those boats float to the lift, I should never have seen THIS!!
  20. I tried to read it, but just couldn't. The paper is written with bad flow. Seems like thoughts are just thrown out at random. Much of it makes no sense, or is confusing to read. Some grammar mistakes require multiple re-reads before getting what you're trying to say.
  21. That's part of it. The other part is supposed to be bad solder which becomes brittle under heat.
  22. ^ I think I read that the PS3 had it's patch released a few days ago. That may explain the lack of problems. Empty box#2 is going to be sent my way Monday. Seems no one has any clue what happened to the first box sent. I'm going through withdrawals while I wait to have my 360 replaced ... again.
  23. Hopefully these opening day bugs are worked out by next weekend.
  24. That's probably a good hour or two wait. A station wait for Skyrider is about 30 minutes at least.
  25. That was a mildly disturbing video. Nice report Chuck!
