  1. I seem to remember reading reports that Megazeph was unsalvagable?
  2. Yes. When you get to the toll booths stay as far left as possible. Tell them you're going to soak city and they'll send you back perimeter road. Park in the lot by Gemini and walk over to the Magnum gate.

    Trip help!

If you do an entire weekend at Cedar Point you'll probably run into two extremes on different days. Friday and Sunday should be deserted. Saturday during Halloweekends they can fill the park to capacity. At least I've been a couple October saturday's where the park is jam packed. The weather in late September would be much more iffy in Ohio then it would be in California. Though you're from the UK, so a bit of cold and rain would probably make you feel at home.
  4. I'd imagine weight limits on water park rides must be hard to estimate. There's just so many unknowns that can't be predicted. Like how the weight is distrubuted, how the riders move, etc. A static weight limit probably isn't enough. Water park rides are just so unpredictable compared to thrill rides.
  5. I'm not sure if it was from lack of staffing early in the year, but this May when I was there the only ride using a grouper was Maverick. MF was doing "line up and wait wherever you want, with as many people can fit in the station".
  6. ^ That Top Thrill picture can be taken on any average day throughout the season. Just wait for it to break down and the line to clear out.
  7. Wait, so there was only four of them in the raft, and their combined weight was 900 pounds? That's an average of 225 pounds per person.
  8. This is why I always plan my trips in either May or September.
  9. Maybe for those that are having intermitent RRoDs. But my experience has been that when they RRoD, they just die fully. No trouble shooting will bring them back at that point. At least that's been my experience with my failures. My 1st died within a year sitting flat, my 2nd died in about 3/4 a year while standing up. My 3rd has yet to die, but I'm sure it will at some point. Which brings up the major problem with that 3 year warranty. When you have a system die, they give you back a refrub. Meaning that you're getting back a flawed console which has been patched up, but the flaws still exist. So when you get that refub back your chances for failure go up dramatically. That's why so many people are on their 3rd, 4th, 5th, 5th consoles, etc. Because they keep getting these crappy refurbs back. Some people have them die right out of the box.
  10. That "big box" isn't a surge strip, it's the power supply. I don't really buy that "360 must be plugged into the wall" bit. To me it just sounds like BS hype spit out by CSR agents who don't know anything. The quality of the newer versions are definetly better. However I'm not willing to consider them fixed yet. I still see far too many reports of new systems breaking. One problem I've read about the new versions is that the GPU still over heats. The CPUs are the smaller chips, which run much cooler. But the system uses the CPU temps to control the cooling system. So the GPU is reported to over heat, but the cooling system doesn't do anything because the CPU temps look fine. And yeah, you get the 3 year warranty, so it won't cost you anything if you have problems. Although dealing with MS' terrible CSRs is a giant pain in the ass. Both of my first repairs took nearly a month to get back to me. And it sucks dealing with CSRs who are just reading facts of a sheet of paper and don't know the first thing about the system. So yes, the 360 is the better game system. But it's still somewhat of a crap shoot when it comes to quality.
  11. It used to be 5 years, but they moved it down to 4 years this past year. Score for me! They moved it up a year to try and stop the massive turnover they were seeing in the lower ranks.
  12. Tough choice. 360 has the better game lineup. However the 360 also has terrible quality. You take a risk of having the console die on you. PS3 doesn't have as many games, but is much more reliable.
  13. I don't think you're going to see a 300 foot B&M anytime soon. Would be far too expensive. And from what I understand they're not interested in going that high.
  14. ^ That's pretty much average in north america. Vacation time over here tends to be only two weeks unless you have alot of seniority. I'll be going from two weeks up to three weeks vacation time next year as I've hit my 4 year anniversary. I think I'll get 4 weeks vacation after about 10 years with the company.
  15. None of us would be able to answer that. You'd have to ask your HR department or manager.
  16. ^ You mean the archive forum that only admins can post to? You don't have to be that new to notice that all the TRs are in the theme park forum.
  17. "Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!". Where else would you have thought to post it??
  18. This thread covers your same question: http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=44817
  19. The Fibonacci Sequence is a math thing. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fibonacci_number
  20. Sounds like a Da Vinci Code reference to me. Or at least a reference to the Fibonacci number that the book talks about.
  21. I wonder if they learned how to lock that flash animation? They used a similar animation for Behemoth, and people cracked it, exposing the final pictures.
  22. Depends on the day and time. Although being a holiday that makes that day unpredictable. Although the cottage traffic would be mostly on the 400. But the 427/QEW up until about Hamilton is pretty much always slow. 400/401 area tends to be stop and go on normal days. So really if you leave mid evening you're probably going to find the highways jammed from the 400 up until you get out of Toronto on the QEW. The 407 would get you around the worst areas, and would probably be quicker. However that would cost you, as it's one of the most expensive toll roads in the world. (and I'm pretty sure US residents will get billed). Edit: If you choose to use the 407, from the 400 to the QEW will cost $15.79. Expensive, but it should bypass the worst traffic areas. 407etr.com
  23. Spending more time in Niagara wouldn't be a bad idea. I find Niagara Falls much more interesting then downtown Toronto. As far as big cities go, Toronto doesn't really match up. CN Tower is really the only thing unique. Once you've been to London, Chicago, New York, Paris, etc, Toronto all of a sudden doesn't seem all that interesting. Marineland kind of depends on how many animal shows/exhibits you want to see. If you just go in for the credits you could finish the park in under an hour easy. But if you go see some shows, see some whales, play with the bears, etc then that can take a few hours. And plan for a 20 minute walk up Skyscreamer's base.
  24. CN Tower is the obivous choice. Other then that, do you enjoy wandering around looking at skyscrapers? Toronto to be honest is kind of lacking in major tourist sights. Most of the interesting things are outside of the GTA like Niagara Falls. Toronto is a city founded by accountents and bankers.
