  1. Elissa it looks to me like it was the bungee cord variety of the ride, you can see the frayed ends of the cord in that photo I'm pretty sure. I'm really NO WAY on those rides. The cable/swing box model though I recon rocks, there is one just down the road... been too long since I've been on that baby!
  2. Master Blaster is my tip for the next attraction to go into Wet N Wild Down here. I think a little battle is about to start with Dreamworld opening it's own waterpark which has all the latest proslide toys. DW are going for the rocket slide with the conveyors so I hope WnW combat that with a real master blaster. Water jets sooo much cooler Best slide is still Disco H2O though for sure!
  3. Howdy all I just want to know who actually manufactures the Master Blaster slide? Not the models from proslide which use the conveyer technology but the slides that actually use the high pressure water jets to propel rides in the uphill sections. Thanks guys
  4. For me I'd probably have to go with Batman... Nemesis would have to be up there too but its not quite as 'viscious' as the Batman's are
  5. Not true, I have hired several cars in the US the last couple years and 21 is fine to do that. There are some companies that have a 25 year old minimum but others (like national for example) will do 21 and over. Just be prepared to pay a bit of a surcharge as you are younger than 25...
  6. Okay now Elissa that trip WILL be a Drinking trip... let's see to hit all our coasters should take you a good three days so what else are you going to do with yourself Pretty sure the 'research' trip before the group one is what we'll be hanging out for LOL
  7. Hey Elissa As nominated group spokeman for today I would just like to point out a correction to something you posted in the chat transcript... By Day this may debatably be a coaster trip but I can assure everyone out there come park closing time this is most definately a drinking trip!! And anyone who wants to say otherwise can feel the wrath of Casey upon them... But on a more serious note, I think I can speak for a lot of people in saying that an equaly good time was had outside the parks as within them on the uk trip!
  8. Okay so here's my thoughts... I may not post a hell of a lot but I do read most threads on the boards and I think people like Robb would agree that I do actualy 'get' what TPR is about. It's funny to read this thread and see that anyone who has actualy met Ryan see's this video for what it is, something really funny that he has obviously put a lot of thought and effort into. I read through a lot of Photo Trip Reports and watch enough videos that get posted on this site that well... just plain suck and are boring as bat business... I don't however feel the need to reply in the thread and say what I feel about them, I just move on to the next thread. Seriously, someone took time out of their life to make something funny to amuse others, and actualy did a pretty damn good job of it too... Being negative never did anyone any good! Again... nice work Ryan!
  9. DUDE BEST POUNDING EVER!! I think anyone who puts in a wafflecone vote needs to be banned right now!! Best laugh I've had all day... even if your mate scares me a little
  10. oh yes the Lightwater day, **such** a smart idea to NOT go to bed the night before... hmm yeah real bright. I still think the moron ride ops from The Ultimate still win as the funniest on the trip for the A$$holes with their crazy dj skills. And then was them riding in front of us with no restraints, standing up, and smaking their arms into a tree
  11. For the best I would have to say the Xcel/TTD style of Rocket seat. Because we really have to include the restraint in the equation and that seat with the lapbar really results in having almost nothing around you at all. Funnily enough I would say that the tie for second worse seats I've found are the new rocket seats on like Rita, Superman, etc. The hard restraint either digs into your legs on something with air like superman, or wacks your neck into the OTSR portion like on Rita. Next I would put the SLC seats because your head gets slammed into the OTSR. But the all time worse seat would be the bloody X-Car seat! I thought I was going to die it was squashing my insides sooo bad!!
  12. I would have to say I'm a little from column A and a little from column B on this one... I thoroughly enjoyed Thunder Coaster and Balder both pretty much the same on the UK trip for two very different reasons, although I would definately say Balder is easily the better (or best?) coaster. Balder was fast as hell, airtime like you couldn't believe (hell the a$$holes wrode this thing standing up!) and smooth as at the same time. It certainly didn't feel like a steel coaster but it was very smoothe. Thunder Coaster (and I'm only talking about in the rain here mind you, in the day I was seriously left wondering why we came) on the other hand had that bat out of hell out of control feeling down pat. The thing was flying around the track and you thought you might die it was so wicked. Two very different experiences but both great IMO. I wouldn't rate TC as 'rough' though. Then again Robb will shoot me because I still think Ghostrider is great. I only got to ride it for the first time 3 and a half years ago and again last year so I never wrode it when it was apparently amazing. But for me it had the whole out of control, not going to let up thing happening which I think rocks. To be honest though I've never had it beat me up so if it got to that point I would have to change my mind. The same can't be said for the now detroyed Beast at Wonderland in Sydney, that thing was MEAN AND BRUTAL!
  13. I'm pretty sure the delays between the launches are so the casino can save money on speed. Back when I first rode it several years ago they would just keep pumping the trains out, I think we did like 12 rides in less than an hour. Now you'd be lucky to get half that many I recon.
  14. Tip Buy a ticket and use the monorail, you will get there 10 times faster than battling the strip in a Taxi. Strip traffic can suck.
  15. If money is no option I would be saying Venetian, Bellagio or Wynn for sure. The three of these leave the other's for dead IMO. Mandalay is also nice but a long way away. I've stayed at NYNY and it was nice but for me a little too far down that end. The last 2 years and again in October we now stay at Treasure Island. It's a nice medium between affordable and nice and I like it's location. Plus every second year when our big conference is in Vegas its an official discounted hotel If you really are on a money is no object holiday get yourself (EARLY like weeks or months in advance)a reservation at Prime at Bellagio, will be a meal you will never forget. But at the same time we were there our bill was something like $200-250US. Oh and make sure you go and see Blue Man Group, I would still fly to Vegas just to see that show! Thanks for the Wolfgang tip Elissa, we may just have to hit that one!
  16. OMG YOU FOUND THE INFLATABLE SHEEP! The Aussie A$$holes had a plan to buy like 50 of these and put them all on the bus, sadly we got too sidetracked at the bar in blackpool and never made it out to the Sex Shops
  17. Well there you go, I always knew the truth Lou. ...that you don't give a crappy australian beer about me
  18. Okay so I think this thread just reached the point of stupidity. This is TPR, not some dumb board that degenerates into crap. I'll put everyone out of their misery. Nobody is getting into the Aussie A$$holes group. It's something from the UK trip, so if you weren't on it then I'm sorry I guess you missed out. I think that point was lost somewhere along the line so I think the best thing to do was spell it out in yellow and grey right here. I just wanted to send a big DUDE out to Richard and Cameron because they get it!!
  19. Umm... visit? What visit would that be? Is news to me I'm pretty sure! Well I'm next door to MW and WnW everyday and live accross the water from SW so let me know when you plan on heading out and I'll come join you.
  20. Yeah she's a bit like that, I'm usually lucky to get a reply email from her myself! If you do get one you should consider yourself lucky, but we warned they are usually pretty half a$$ed in nature... Must be a british thing I guess
  21. Isn't it sometimes about quality of quantity? For me, yeah sure Disney World was impesssive in its scale, but certainly didn't have the charm and warm fuzzy feeling that Disneyland does... Awesome Video Rob, I think that shot at Balder summs up the Aussies perfectly!!
  22. Hey mate I thought you dropped off the face of the earth... or was it just that you were too rude to return my messages When are we gonna have a beer? Been too long... I'm afraid I can't help you with that question. All tittle enquiries must be made to the CTO (chief tittling officer) Mr Jeff Johnson who can be reached through this website.
  23. Trust me we had every intention of finding some Vegemite and Beer but you know, due to typical DW operations we just ran out of time as I had to be back down at AOS by 3. Next TR (which will probably be from Vegas if nothing special happens before then) will be certain to feature more than enough booze to make up for it!
  24. HAHA Of course we remember who was the creater of the tittle, we have a statue in your honour at the clubhouse and everything! You can feel free to mention yourself as much as you like (and I'm sure you will )... tis others the joke was in reference too
  25. Oh wow it's your birthday, knew it was coming up but I guess the date got away from me So HAPPY BIRTHDAY from this a$$hole... glad someone sent you something nice, looks like you ended up with quite the loot! Oh and be careful with those flowers you posted, if you tip them on their side like that the water could spill out
