  1. Camera on TOT and GD is easy, just have the camera in its pouch attached to your belt... once the ride has left the station, whip it out (lol at the pun). As for Elissa, if you're replying they aint getting through, ill shoot you another address to try because that is weird. We'll be sure to send you more a$$hole updates as they come in, although I'm sure the next one will be from Vegas
  2. So because we're going through UK withdrawels here and I had already been to a good park the few days before we thought we better go and visit the poor cousin of the parks up here... Dreamworld! Hadn't been in over a year so I figured I was about due... Read all about it here www.mandylights.com/tpr/aadreamworld.htm
  3. Thanks... I seriously looked about 10 times and couldn't find where I wrote that. What I meant was that it gets up the tophat pretty fast which does produce air in the front. It's the cresting as it pulls the back half of the train up and over that is slow. I can't say that I didn't feel like the train was barely going to make it over on Xcel or Stealth though either. ...or Kanonen for that matter either.
  4. Umm can someone show me where I wrote that??
  5. It's so funny to read you guys say a ride isn't fun without riding it, given I look at it every day and ride it at least once a week I can tell you that yes it is a fun ride. What rocket doesn't crest the tophat slowly? That's a cool feeling in itself, and as I just said (did you bother to read??) it does in fact take the top hat quite fast indeed. Look at a video of Kingda Ka, I'll guarantee it doesn't look anywhere near as fast as it does feel when riding, that's just video for you.
  6. weetopia is that from the video or from riding? Because I'll assure you that that thing goes plenty fast enough over those airtime hills, anymore ejector air and you would be getting bruises on your thights for days! All those that rode Speed on the UK trip will know what I'm talking about because this baby packs more ejector air than that hill!
  7. I must say that I'm pretty tempted to leave my Balder Hammer sitting on the desk at work and when John comes past next and asks what it's for I can tell him it's from Balder, go buy one of those
  8. Certainly sounds about time that I go buy my favourite construction manager a beer then Ian Good to see the tower has started whilst I was away!
  9. Well the Aussie A$$holes have made it back to A$$hole land... it's raining... how does that work??? Best news is the lovely customs people let us KEEP OUT BALDER HAMMERS!!!! So happy. The trip was too awesome for words, Robb and Elissa did a more amazing job than anyone could possibly imagine, and it really was the people that made the trip so great. Can't wait for the future trips. See you all soon... my turn to go get all depressed now
  10. I think it's about time for Theme Parks, Roller Coasters & DUDES!
  11. Definately Xcel for me, could ride that non stop if it had a toilet and vending machine on board!
  12. oh okay, fair enough, I don't really see the point myself to be honest but admit I missed that in the rules. Voiceovers I would totaly agree should be okay.
  13. Have all the videos downloading at present, been flat out the last couple days with work and now moving to the Gold Coast. Watched a few so far, looking good. I must say I would sooner captions weren't needed but I suppose that's not breaking any rules. One thing I didn't get so far was the extra footage in Arrowfanman's video... weren't we supossed to stick to what TPR supplied? Can't wait until the remainder download to see the other entries.
  14. When I was at the park at the start of November there was one train that had audio. I think in the 2 days I probably rode about 4 times and one of those had audio working...
  15. Hey Robb have you guys checked out the Lake of Dreams at Wynn before? I mean you guys are in town there certainly a lot more often that I am so I imagine you would have but then again it's kind of a little hidden secret so maybe not... If you haven't be sure to go see it, amazing stuff. *whishes I was back in Vegas *
  16. Well I've submitted my entry. It doesn't really matter what you all think of the video or even the song for that matter, we all know what's really important is this little vixan that sings it Almost criminal to have to chop up her voice in order to edit the track down to the 3min limit.
  17. So I've dug out a possible 3 tracks so far to cut the video too and all of them came out at around 210 seconds Oh well I guess it's off to edit the tracks before I get to edit the video hehehe Oh and by the way... I will be doing this on MAC!!! OMG
  18. Robb you said what I was thinking 100% After spending the last four days at WDW (don't know how many people say that the clones here are better than the Disneyland originals but thats another topic) the one major edge Disney just has over everyone else is how well they understand efficicncy. It drove me nuts the other day at Universal with the stupid finger print lockers on every damn ride but at Disney its just carry it all on. You aren't ever going to loose something unless the train goes in reverse... same reason we don't need OTSRs. The sheer number of people Disney can put through compared to the competition really is a thing to behold. Just watch the dispatches at Big Thunder, Rock N Roller Coaster or Space Mountain and its pretty clear. 30sec Dispatch on RnRC sure beats 4.5mins on Dragons the other day. When I head to IOA tomorrow I'll be sure NOT to take a bag with me
  19. Well Dragons was running as of yesterday... Thought it looked about time for a paint
  20. So what do they do to Poseidon during HHN just out of curiosity? Thanks for the info, anyone got some more to offer...
  21. Hi All So visited IOA for the first time today and of course was sad to see Ripsaw Falls down for rehab... Does anyone know when that and Poseidon are supposed to be back up? And sort of on that topic, why would they be cycling a 3rd train on Hulk Empty all day? (as a side note the seatbelts were coiled up and zip tied on that train) Thanks guys, I'm sure someone will have the goss. Only thing that sucked today was that for some reason they held off putting two extra trains on the dragons until about 3pm which it really could have done with earlier... why do that for?? Finished of the day today with some Elissa friendly food
  22. Cool, figured it was going to be something like that... Interesting to hear the station track and all that is original... does thing include the rear transfer track (as you enter the station at the end of the ride) and all the brakes and stuff? It all obviously got some love if it is as all looks nice and new and shiny Thanks for the info
  23. Geeze this turned into a bloody mine's bigger than yours thread already! Sorry if I spoke out of turn, I know Vekoma worked on much of Disney's stuff so some how I must have just got it in my head that they did this... Does anyone care to actualy answer the question asked regarding the brakes? BTW Sorrry Elissa, you missed Chip and Dale at Breakfast yesterday, I did think of you when they came by
  24. Okay so I was at Disneyland the last 2 days and finally got to ride Space Mountain (my first visit was about a month after it closed for the re-build). One thing I noticed was these strange brakes in the station... There are the regular friction brakes but behind them are these strange looking pneumatic 'claw' type things that clearly extend out when the train goes over them and then you see them retract when it dispatches. What are they for and how do they work? Are they something new for Vekoma?
  25. See is it just me or do others think that if the GP is waiting 3 hours for a ride but employees off duty can just walk straight on really sums up what is wrong with SFMM??
