It's gone now so either they launched it or it went back to the station. -

Have to respectfully disagree coasterdude. A daily update or maybe twice daily update if there is a change expected is reasonable. But you simply can't expect the maintenance crew to be updating PR on every thing with the ride. Their work and stress load would be huge right now. And to be fair LR is effectively temporarily closed right now. Because it is meant to be open and will be as soon as they can correct the current issue. Thunderhead has been down for a while today, do they issue a press release on that? No LR will be open the second it can be and people just have to be patient. It's not like they are up there going "oh haha this will screw with people's plans, let's keep it closed" I've flown out here from Australia to ride the thing and it doesn't look like it will happen and I'm ok with that because shit happens and if that was the sole reason for coming here that would be incredibly stupid of me. I feel if I can be cool about it, no one else has an excuse not to be. -

Yeah I don't think there is any need for insults. The way I see it the ride crews last priority is probably to tell marketing what is going on. It's would be to get the ride running again. So they probably informed PR that the seat issue was fixed and then it was good to go. By the time they found another issue the release was probably already sent out. I know all too well how frustrating it is to have to stop work on commissioning/repair frequently to update marketing people etc. really slows the job down. -

They def plan to open today, the que is all open where as yesterday it was closed up. Right now there are guys all over the launch working where it 'didn't catch fire' So certainly not all sorted there yet. -

Just looked and see the closed banner. The details popup appears to have changed. Not claiming all RMC coasters are That's weird because the mobile site and app were plastered with that yesterday but today nothing. Haven't been down to the park to see what's happening though yet -

Well the closed banner is gone from the website so they might be planning to open LR today. I'll go check the timesaver pass shortly. -

And the thing is if it is indeed a recall because the fault was that the cylinders woukdnt release then that's not a safety issue at all. We know the cylinders are only the new type. And the recall still makes sense because if a piece of safety equipment is not working correctly in any way (good or bad) you take it out of service. -

Wow so our park employed trolley driver just told us all about how Rocky Mountain Construction were having to file for chapter 11 because every single ride they have ever made has had to be closed. And how there are defects in all the metal and that the ride was unsafe for the riders that have wridden it and they were really lucky. They weren't joking around, she was deadly serious. How the hell can a park employee be telling guests such misleading and dangerous information??? -

It will only let you take the next available time. You can't reserve a time later in the day or more than one ride at a time. It's nice to hear the parts are there. I couldn't bring myself to go ask the host out front because I just felt like they must have the worst job in the world right now the poor girl. -

The cable launch would be very very hard to achieve on the slope. Look at all of them, they are pretty well a straight pull for the cable drum. You couldn't mount the launch gear at the top so it would have to be down at the base and the force on divert sheaves for the launch cable at the top of the crest would probably be way too much for such a structure or the sheaves themselves, plus you'd need a massive sheave for the bend radius of that cable. I must say I applaud DW for now being so open with information. It's amazing the difference that makes with the GP speculating on the ride. -

Well we know the launch has its own control system separate to the rest of the coaster so that would make sense. -

Well the train is gone from the pre launch now, can't really see it in the station so that could be a good sign at least. -

As the park fills up today time saver has definitely been worth it. We get it for free because we're staying at DreamMore however I would certainly pay the $25. It's especially hot today so the time not spent in switchbacks is really great. -

As I said though, I'm sure RMC aren't permitted to release anything about one of their customers rides, so it would be up to each park to comment. Likewise one park really can't issue a statement about another's ride specifically. It's a bit different to say a consumer level product recall when the public at large owns the items in question. Frustrating yes, but not much can be done really. -

That's one thing I don't understand from Dollywood or RMC. All the delays are totally understandable however by both being so closed about what's happening it obviously frustrates some people. Certainly enthusiasts would probably be a lot more tolerant (some of us are anyway but I get why people aren't also) if they knew the nature of what was happening. As for the latest recall, yes I agree it a go PR move to state the affected rides so Joe Public isn't worried about other rides, but RMC is probably not allowed to release details about their customers rides to be fair. I also feel they probably are not realeasing what it is as its to do with the restraint and that could scare people. -

Forgive me because I might have missed it but I'm not seeing where in that linked thread it says closed till next week? If they aren't going to the manufacturer for adjustment to sensors I can't see it being much, probably just minor alignment. I don't know if any park anywhere altering control systems without consultation with the manufacturer. -

Really? Doubtful. It's because people want to know they can get in and get out and ride the coaster. If they aren't credit obsessed then sticking around for a day or two to find a time to ride wouldn't be a problem. -

Perhaps they should just close it again until it's 100% perfect 'entitled winger proof' because it seems to poor park can't catch a break. Is closed people complain It's opened for testing so they can get people on it where possible people complain It opens properly but isn't perfect and people complain. I can't wait to get a 'chance' to ride next week after traveling so far and am so greatful the park is busting ass so hard to get as many people as they realistically can get on a ride that still probably has some kinks to work out. Perhaps if people were more concerned with the fun of riding one of the world's great rides and less about 'getting a credit' they would be less but hurt about it having issues. -

I'm at Dollywood in a little under 3 weeks. I expected a few months to be enough buffer for this new ride, but hey if it doesn't open, shit happens. I still get to hit an amazing park so I'll hold on to that and if LR opens that's a bonus. -

I'm just curious as to what testing people expected they should have done prior to the ride being finished? Exactly how do you launch a coaster up a lift hill without having 1)the lift hill and 2) the track following it completed? You can calculate and simulate all you want but in the end you don't know for sure until you are full scale real world. One could say "build a prototype to test" but news flash, this is the prototype!
