  1. Cedar Fair hates two things: Trees and history.
  2. There is so much ignorance in this thread, it sickens me. I won't discuss ironies of this, because others have. Calling these modern day concentration camps is insultingly stupid. It is an insult to Jews everywhere (for the record, I'm not one), who faced persecution to the point of death simply because they were born Jews. Millions of innocent people WERE KILLED! No one is being persecuted at these camps, there is no physical abuse. Ironically, sensitivity towards the Holocaust is this issue with this. Jebus, you go over to middle Europe and compare something like this to the Holocaust...you will get the beating of your life. -Bryan "ignorance comes with immaturity" Wood
  3. Wes is my new hero. That is all. -Bryan "OMGWTFBBQSFMM" Wood
  4. Correct. Also, Sky Wheel at Skyline Park and X Coaster at Magic Springs also top Viper at 150' 11" with in-line twists.
  5. My head asplode. In soo many ways. P.S. I don't give two foots about Cedar Point. Seriously.
  6. If someone has already posted this thought, I'm sorry. I could hardly read anything between the crazy posts of SoCal fanboys crapping all over this topic (and in their pants). Look, anyone who thinks SF will take down all of the rides at SFMM/HH is forgetting one thing. It costs a lot of money to do that. In fact, those costs would probably offset any margin that selling off land for redevelopment would have over selling off those parks (as a whole) to another operator. -Bryan "something to think about" Wood
  7. As a temporary fair. HUGE difference. -Bryan "don't want to get anyone's hopes up" Wood
  8. I'd be surprised to see SFDL close. I called their possible sale two years ago. They have a lot to offer (hotel, campground, park and a concert venue), so someone could invest some money in it and see a decent turn of profit. There's too much there for it all to go away.
  9. v2 was down earlier in the year because the back car had to be replaced. Apparently, the issue they had has been resolved.
  10. Great TR....I love me some GAm. Don't expect Revolution to be running any time soon. It has a pretty serious "injury" that might keep it down for the entire year. They'd be lucky to get it up by the end of summer.
  11. Would you mind specifying which park? -Bryan "also visiting HW with family and looking for the best discounts" Wood
  12. Some HW discounts are listed here: http://www.holidayworld.com/prices.html
  13. Ah, I forgot about Vortex. It was running a lot better than I remember. I had some great rides in the second to last seat.
  14. I decided it was time to finally visit Kings Island for the first time since I moved back to Ohio (My last visit was early 2004). It was a good day, as crowds were light (no wait over 20 mins) and the weather was fantastic (cloudy, but mild). In a rare circumstance, I ALMOST went a whole day without seeing a mullet at PKI. Luckily, I caught one in line for Face/Off. Photo evidence below. Recapping the rides: Tomb Raider: Still unique, but it felt like some things were missing. The Beast: Man, this ride feels like it's getting worse. Maybe it's because I've ridden Thunderhead, New Mexico Rattler, Voyage, Hades and Avalanche since my last ride on Beast, but it's getting downright painful. Italian Job: I really don't see why so many enthusiasts whine about this ride. It was pretty fun and warranted some re-rides. Nothing intense, but fun. Flight of Fear: Still my favorite coaster in the park. Racer: Running fantastic with good airtime that it lacked a few years back. Now my favorite woodie in the park. Seat 2.1 was kind to me. Adventure Express: The coaster that is part mine-ride, part tropical feeling. The "You will pay" voices were not on. Son of Beast: Whoever said it has vastly improved because of work is a sadomasochist. Still an awful ride and will be until the trains are gone. Top Gun: Still a fun front seat ride, but I'll take Big Bad Wolf Face/Off: Still intense, I avoided the headbanging. Drop Zone: Still awesome, new paint job, walk-ons in the evening = awesome. Avatar: So Zamperla calls this a "Disk'O Coaster", but it feels like neither a Disk'O or a coaster. It feels like a larger, faster Rockin' Tug and I loved it. A great addition, not a coaster. Reptar: For the credit. Scooby Doo's Haunted Castle: Still fun, and I still suck at it. (570 is awful) Other Rides: Monster (took forever to unload), Scrambler, Shake, Rattle and Roll (Troika), Zephyr (Wave Swinger), Viking Fury (made loud banging and felt slow), Eiffel Tower. Got all of that done between 10:30am and 8pm! On a side note: I miss the Flyers. Especially on a day like this with no crowds, it was depressing. It angers me that a downright medicore park got them. Oh well Kings Island officials went over to Paris with guns drawn and demanded they hand over the Eiffel Tower. France surrendered (as usual). Thanks for reading! Sign of quality #2 on "You will Pay: The Ride" Delirium. It actually ran for most of the day and still kicks tail. LaRosa's pizza owns my soul. Provolone cheese instead of mozzerella = genius. Avatar: it's actually a lot of fun. Gimme some candy! Drop Zone got a fresh paint job since my last visit. It now looks as awesome as it rides. Notice the Great Wolf Lodge under construction in the background. An overview of the kids area for those who haven't seen it in a while. It's really nice. Where was this when I was a kid? Racer: now the best woodie in the park. PKI needs more rides with airtime. You suck! If they wanted the theming/ride to be more accurate, you would have to wait in traffic on the 101 until you want to bash your head into a brick wall. Here's the super righteous mullet! After this picture, his kid bit me and gave me rabies. Sign of quality #1. The photo was blurry because my camera was repulsed by the logo. I love Graeter's Black Raspberry Chip! The worker loaded me up with giant scoops!
  15. Wow...a "No Fun" park! Bummer that the X-car coaster stunk...it looked pretty sweet from pictures. The best part of this update was the "E-Mail Dan" subject line. Hilarious! -Bryan "not a huge fan of water rides, but will ride the good ones" Wood
  16. ...That they steal from other people.
  17. You clearly have never ridden a GCII coaster. -Bryan "I'm sure it'll be fun knowing the designs they make" Wood
  18. Smart move in leaving Phoenix. I left in January and moved to rural Ohio (30 mins from Dayton) and I'm happy I did. Charlotte is great, and I hear the Indiana suburbs of Louisville are pretty nice.
  19. Holy Crap...people always told me this when I lived near Surprise from 2004-2006. IT WAS THE MOST ANNOYING THING EVER! Six Flags has giant debts, and building a brand new park costs hundreds of millions, let alone the price of purchasing substantial land in an area where real estate has boomed is insane. Despite news stations and papers telling them there is no truth, people there STILL believed the rumors! People in Phoenix are so freaking stupid. I'm so glad I moved away from there. My head almost exploded from the stupidity, ignorance and rudeness. PLEASE, FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS GOOD IN THE WORLD, TELL EVERYONE YOU KNOW IN PHOENIX THERE IS NO TRUTH BEHIND THE RUMORS! -Bryan "there are better places to build a brand new park than Phoenix...if it was even feasible" Wood
  20. "Rooftops" - Lost Prophets
  21. Adventureland in New York recently removed it's Mondial Supernova...could it possibly be heading to Spain? ...and don't worry...your English is much better than a lot of people on this site.
  22. Awesome stuff...definitely jealous...hopefully I'll be able to join the next trip!
  23. I love Skyline Chili's coneys. I'm lucky to have one of those close to me.
  24. I knew exactly where this was before I even click on the thread. I always found these things hilarious during my 18 months in PHX. I wish I would've attended one just so I could talk about it.
  25. I'm not entirely sure they could re-open in two weeks. There's an issue of staffing, bringing in food/supplies/merchandise and getting all of the rides ready for inspected...then having the state come in an inspect them. If they do open sometime this year, I will definitely go there.
