  1. Man this is messed up. I can't help but think that this will but some nasty delays in the technology. Plus, like, all those dead people are probably really pissed off right now. I'd be choking someone from the otherside right now. Tragic. -Don
  2. I just listened to the rest of the album today. There's some pretty good stuff on there. He's got a 10 minute plus song on going to a drive-thru that was insanely funny. Made the drive to work today go pretty fast. Also theres a brilliant send up of that lame "Do I make you proud" country song, "Do I creep you out." Good stuff. Don't download this song gets better after a few times, or if you're sitting in traffic. -Don
  3. OMG!!! I actually have a friend who bought a bootleg copy of the "Star Wars Xmas Special" from some dude at the mall!!! Holy crap, I think that was Al's best work to date, god we're such nerds! Link for anyone not too lame to already know what this is. OMG, funny.
  4. I was at a concert and Sabu straight stage dove his boot to my face, I'm voting for him, with Abdulla the Butcher as a close second. I'm not messing with Abdulla. Hey, keep that fork away from me!!!! Sabu will serve your ass
  5. The Matterhorn has a scheduled "rolling rehab" program that replaces small parts of the track and effects. Unfortunatly this means it goes down for several weeks every year. The alternative would be to shut the entire mountain down for a year or more every few years. Remember how long Space Mountain was down for? I don't think I could go through that long of a dry period with the Matterhorn! After nearly 700 coasters over the world the Matterhorn is still my favorite, and I don't care what you guys think! Where else can you meet Harold, helix around a basketball court, and laugh at people in lederhosen! Also, you can get free hats just by riding! (Ask anyone whose ever ridden it with me ) Anyway, that's why it's "always down". And while it may have opened in 1959, the ride is far from old! Nearly everything gets replaced after a few years, it's probably one of the parks newest rides! -Matterhorny Don
  6. Yeah I agree, "Space Matterhorn" is just fine the way it is! 5 months is pretty long for a rehab but when was the last time it was down? I know our Matterhorn gones down ever year for a rolling refub where they work on sections at a time. Maybe for TDL they decided to do it all at once. Maybe with Space down they'll have BTM open in January! -Don
  7. I don't know what would be worse; eating the cockroach or riding Titan! Seriously, why not Shockwave or Mr. Freeze instead... -Don
  8. Anyone who thinks that song was bad has never heard the Dodonpa death march. I think that "song" made me sterile! Do...Don...*pah* rinse, repeat... Awesome footy Chris! With luck it'll be operating this winter and I can try it out! -Don This should be all healed up by then!
  9. I think a Space Shot or a Skycoaster would be awesome on a ship. The bowling alley sounds awesome! That's where I'd be, between the g-string contest and the polka dance party. -Don
  10. I've been following along and I can't see in what universe anybody would really care. It's got rocks and trees, at some point you'll just have to accept it. -Don
  11. MEH, BTTF is pretty lame anyway. Maybe you can ask jesus for a new ride that isn't old and stupid! Like a "Battle for Jerusalem: Xtreme Water Balloons - The Xperience" or something. Is "Night of Joy" a good place to pick up chicks? If so I"m totally there! "No really babe, god says condoms are wrong. Have faith in me, I totally won't give you a disease!" -Don
  12. OMG I'm such a colossal tool! Check out what I got today! Here's the source pic: http://www.knotts.com/special_events/haunt/faqs.htm -Don Close up. ROCK! I also got this too. Eejanaika better rock! Wait until the guys at westcoaster see this! Dude! I REALLY love Haunt!
  13. I actually totally agree with everything in this paragraph! While they have an awesome assortment of coasters, nothing there is "the best of it's kind". Millenium Force is pretty good but it's not like it hasn't been done elsewhere better (Thunder Dolphin, the SROS's, Goliath, GeForce). I'm not sure what you mean. The corkrolls don't look any different than the ones on Colossos or Speed Monster, both of which use standard sized trains. Maybe it was a weird camera angle? I'm expecting Mark to have trains similer to what Speed Monster's running. Double loading with a separate unload area should move people through just fine. -Don Yes thats "MARK"...MAveRiK - 'vei'=mark!
  14. ^ Seriously...what in the hell? Oh, and Wild Train is definately NOT a kiddie coaster. More like a kiddie flinger! That coaster is really amazing for it's size plus it's got to cost what...two hundred dollars for one? Anyone up for a trip to Admiral Vrungel? Go Yngve! -Don
  15. Way to go Grizwold!! Next time listen to the moose out front! Ohh, and since you couldn't ride it: Le Vampire is the BEST coaster ever!!!Puts Milllenium Force to SHAME!! Maybe you guys can hire a local guide or something.. -Don
  16. Awesome! This is like a TPR version of "Dinosaur", well done. Where is that drop/observation tower at? I've got to go ride it! -Don Shaved cat needs to know! Where is this awsome ride located?!
  17. So I was REALLY bored at work today, here's my tribute to productivity, enjoy! S_stop_mo_test.mpg Enjoy this awesome park footage! VERTICAL LOOP!!! Welcome to legal pad park!
  18. ^ WTF?! A hooka and a couch cushion? What kind of picnic is that? Thors Hammer owns my ass! I really love these little Gerstie's. I can't wait until the US gets over it's spinner phase so we can get some good rides for a change. Plus there was a Viking drinking out of a goat in the queue...how cool is that! OH, and Djurs has a pizza buffet! Djurs > Farup x infinity!! -Don
  19. Well, dispite living in CA and having to travel halfway across the country for parks I seem to do pretty well. I only work saturdays and sundays so I have 5 days off each week. As cool as it is I am limited in my trip season as I can only visit parks that are open daily. Now that most parks are going to weekends only I'm pretty much out of luck. Still, I've managed about 4 weeks of US parks this year plus 3 weeks in Europe and a 9 day trip to Japan. I've been VERY fortunate to have met some awesome people in operations as some major park chains that really make visits much better. You guys know who you are, thanks for the exit passes and walkbacks! It also helps having a woman that is willing to put up with red-eye flights, long drives, and the occasional coaster tool-a-thon. Some of my friends SO's would rather be at a mall or a Bon Jovi concert, mine likes to snap flyers! So that really helps! I have no idea how I fell into this awesome lifestyle but it was through no fault of my own I can assure you! What are everyone else's stories? -Don
  20. Let me try to upload some Tivoliland pictures. Really strang/awesome park. Just when you think you really know where they all are...next time double check rcdb! Best Park Souvenier EVER! Even magic mountain would be better with plastic lobsters! (not really) Some random beach themeing, replete with plastic lobsters. It actually wasn't that bad! Really quite weird. The really weird Rickshaw darkride. Really weird ride. It goes through all sorts of forest/deserts/mexico/castles. Kinda like a floorless "Peter Pan" Here's Mike on the weird suspended dark ride through time. We totally got stuck on this boomerang. We got to the lift chain and heard a ka-CHUNK and just sat for several minutes.
  21. There are 3 dark rides at Tivoliland and they're all screwed up! The two standard ghost trains we're off the wall crazy, one had demonic/suicidal chinese guys and the other one had full frontal zombie nudity! The best one was definately the "flying bench through the history of time" suspended dark ride, that one blew my mind! The funniest thing though is that there we're three of us "professional ride enthusiests" and none of us even knew about this park! I was kinda driving around lost looking for our hotel and we just drove by by dumb luck! As we were walking to the park I was like, "Vekoma boomerang, Pinfari looper...yeah, GREAT find you guys...thanks..." But the park was totally awesome...and creepy. It was basically empty and open until midnight?!? Really weird for a European park. Anyway, can't wait to see your pictures! Djurs > Farup IMO though we did both in the same day too, along with Tivoli Frihenden. Were you at Bakken at night? After 3 litres of bier that park just came alive at night. Best. Park. Ever. -Don
  22. Sweet Barry! Put me down for a trade. My new one is just getting finished up now, check your PM! Also congrats on getting it finished so fast! I haven't even had time to look at any of my footage from the trip! -Don (lol at my 'sweet barry' comment, that should come back to haunt me!)
  23. ^ Yeah, I was just kinda teasing you Cool pix btw. I love how Voyage just sails into view as you crest the hill on the way to the park. Luckily it looks like I'll be living closer to the park next year. I never thought I'd have a season pass to Holiday World, next year I just might! -Don
  24. DUDE! Watch what you post about that park! They'll totally ban you for saying stuff like that! Voyage is pretty awesome though. It's just so much coaster. Still, I can't help but think how much better an Intamin woodie would've been. Don't these guys travel? -Don
  25. Yeah, how weird for them to use a picture of Steedra. You'd expect the same random arrow corkscrew shot that's been circulating on the press circuit since 1974.
