^ Needful Things. < Guns, no. C-4, yes. v Future game show host.

No. She doesn't make appearances in Afghanistan. Do you dream of roller coasters and amusement parks?

2006 Coaster Season Stats
pagemaster_b replied to DerekRx's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Let me see here, Worked all Jan and most of Feb. Activated end of Feb. Had a 10 day leave between training and Afghanistan, of which: 2 full days wasted at the airports due to flight delays and such. 2 additional half days at airports and flying. 3 days in Phoenix, Arizona visiting my brother, but I did nothing because I had a sinus headache from Hell. 2 days spent tying up all loose ends so I wouldn't have any problems while I was away for a year-plus. 2 days spent with family and friends. Arrived in Afghanistan. Nope. No coaster loving at all. This year blew chunks. But I did fly in a BlackHawk for the first time. A bit unnerving when the crew chiefs (gunners) decide to do a test fire and not tell the passengers! (Just wait till I get home!!! Credit whoring, Hooah!!!) -
^ No quote? Oh well, here's one: "I don't think we're in Kansas anymore, Toto." "I don't think we're in the food chain anymore, Dorthy."

^ Office grunt. < Just look at my avatar. v Neat freak.

I wasn't fond of thunderstorms as kid, but after sitting in a tent in the middle of nowhere during a thunderstorm, it's not so bad. Now, it's kind of relaxing and soothing. The best lightning storm I've ever seen was out in Eastern Oregon when the bolts were different colors--that was totally awesome!

It's sad to see him retiring. I grew-up watching the Price is Right, too. It's hard to see anyone else as the show's host. It will be difficult to find a good replacement.
-
^ Wants my Sour Patch Kids cause he's going through withdrawals from them. < Another boring guard shift duty. ("I don't care what your rank is, Sir, but you can't come in here without your ID Badge.") v Dreams of swimming in a sea of chocolate with the Swedish Fish and Gummi Worms.

Yes, especially the lemon-flavored. Did you pig out on the spoils of Halloween Trick or Treating?
-
Here's my Halloween costume for this year. Oh, wait. I wear this everyday. Watching a Chinook land at the LZ.
-
Don't know what it is either, as that I typically don't watch horror films. Here's one of my favorite lines: "You came in that? You're a lot braver than I thought."

Since all my brothers and sisters have red hair and me with brown, I'm anti-redhead. But in this case, I will make an exception. Woo-Woo!!

King Solomon's Mines. One of my favorite movies as a kid, long before Richard Chamberlain went to Broadway for "My Fair Lady" and Sharon Stone bore all in "Basic Instinct." A great Indiana Jones-like movie, if somewhat silly. (Maybe that's why I still like it.) -

I was told today I had a package. Thinking my new laptop finally arrived, I raced over to our company's headquarters. Much to my surprise, it was the hoodies I had ordered! I had completely forgotten about it! (It's what happens when you're very busy everyday.) Thanks very much, Alvey's! It's starting to get cold out here in Afghanistan, and they're nice and cozy! -
Congratulations!!! May your pregnancy go well, no complications with childbirth, and a healthy baby. Are you wishing for a boy or a girl? (Or both?)

^ Laughter, the best medicine in the world! < Uh, what does "spoot" mean? v BOHICA!!!
-
Yes, it's the highlight of my day, sending all the unneeded classifed paper to the shredder. Personally, I prefer the burn barrel. Gives me the excuse to roast marshmellows and hot dogs, not to mention "burn" a few hours. Do you like watching explosions?
-
I think I've lost my appetite. (BTW, great job with the cake!!!)
-
^ That's really funny, considering how true it is.
-
No, but's certainly wetter. Do you believe love at first sight, or do I have to walk by again?
-
^ Sibling rivalry at it's best. < Haven't watched the first Grudge v Crying because the weekend's over.

Afghanistan is not as bad as Iraq, but there are days when I don't know the difference. Although I'm a Combat Enginner, I work in my unit's air section, processing air missions to move soldiers and cargo. Many of my friends are out in combat areas and it's stressful whenever we have to fly wounded or killed soldiers. I usually don't hear the names until later and I'm constantly worried that it will be someone I know. Already one friend has been killed. I pray that no more of my friends will die, but I'm only a third of the way through my deployment. And the way this world is going, I will not be surprised if I get deployed to Iran or Korea--irregardless as to whoever wins the elections. These upstart countries just don't understand that everbody loses in a nuclear war. Unfortunately, we'll have to use force to keep it from happening. (Peace treaties and UN Sanctions will not work. Period.) Anyways, back to the discussion about your raise. Since you got the Board in your pocket, why not press for the funding of a TPR amusement park. All the best rides and resturants in one location. What do you think?
-
^Kevin Smith's movies are nothing. Join the military and then you'll see PERVERSION. That's pretty funny! Now I've got something to show to my Army buddies. (And I know at least one will think about trying it.) Don't worry. I have no intentions of ever doing this on the Japan trip.

Considering that the politicians in Washington, D.C., in all their infinate wisdom, thought that a 2% raise for the American soldier taking all the brunt and pain on this war on terror to be more than adequate. I make the motion that you get an another 30% raise on the condition that you remind the people who run this country that the troops and their families are paying the ultimate price on this politicians' war.
