Okay I'm gonna share my opinion. Personally I think this is a little ridiculous, it's totally subjective as is every other thing in the world. In the eyes of those that grew up with it, it was indeed a GREAT coaster. It was that one thing that you looked forward to as a kid when you were going to Busch Gardens and then the next week at school you could be cool and tell everyone you rode Big Bad Wolf. On its closing day, I made the journey to Busch Gardens (an hour, no big deal) in the rain just to be there. I spent my entire day there and got to ride it 11 times for final memories. Despite the rain, cold temperatures, invitation to a party, and first day of school the next day, that didn't stop me from giving up that day. Albeit I've only ridden two other Suspended coasters (Flight Deck and Iron Dragon,) it blew both of them out of the water. It was that perfect mix between thrilling and family-friendly. It had some pretty good force in a few spots and was ALWAYS fun to ride. My mom, who's 61 and rarely rides coasters, loved Big Bad Wolf and rode it during its opening week. So for the locals, it was a part of their life growing up. It was a right of passage into riding the bigger coasters. It was a part of Busch Gardens and its history and was a classic. Sure the technology was dated and sure it had mechanical issues, but that's partially because it was an experimental design that was TWENTY-FIVE YEARS OLD. If you have a car that's a new design that lasts 25 years problem-free, call me. If you have any machine that lasts 25 years without any problems, call me. WITH THIS SAID I am also very excited for Mach Tower and whatever future additions Busch Gardens has, as time is moving forwards as is technology. With newer eras and new designs come new memories and new classics. I do think Big Bad Wolf's death was premature but whatever happens happens and whatever they replace it with will hopefully be just as thrilling and just as family-friendly.

Has this ever happened to you?
B-RadG replied to dominoes's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
On the Zyklon coaster at the fair the operator didn't give two rips and sent us with all the lapbars up. Everyone flipped and pulled them down but the operator still failed to notice we were yelling at him. -

Amusement Ride Breakdown!
B-RadG replied to Mr Stratosphere's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
On Anaconda this year we got stopped suddenly on the MCBR and just kinda sat there for 15 minutes. None of the employees noticed so we just sat there and waited. After 15 minutes the brakes released and we finished the ride. I'm not sure if that's a breakdown or a computer being weird or what. -
Long wait times?
B-RadG replied to Coasters 4 ever's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
3 hours for Hypersonic XLC. Last ride on that piece of crap ever. Not worth it at all. 2.5 hours for Flight of Fear. I went on Bank of America Day and everything had a long line. I don't mind waiting so much if it's worth it. Hypersonic, for example, is not. -
I make this a lot and it's enough to feed a small army. You'll have plenty of leftovers if you only have 3 people eating it. I'm not sure exactly what it is but I got bored and threw some stuff together and it came out really well. I guess it's a variant of Cheeseburger Macaroni. Ingredients 1 lb of ground beef 2 cups of elbow macaroni 1 cup of water 2 cups of milk 1 tbsp of corn starch 1 tsp of garlic powder 1 tsp of onion powder 1/2 tsp of pepper (you can use however much you want, I like a lot) 1/2 tsp of salt 1 block of sharp cheddar cheese, shredded (once again, use whatever kind of cheese you want or just use 2 cups of the pre-packaged shredded cheese) How to make it 1. Shred cheese and refrigerate it until later. Mix cornstarch, garlic powder, onion powder, pepper, salt in a small bowl and set aside. 2. Brown beef in a large skillet, drain off any excess liquid. 3. Add elbow macaroni, add water, add milk, add dry ingredients mixture. Bring to a boil. 4. Bring it back down to a simmer (low/2-4 for the stove works best) and cover with the lid to the pan vented (otherwise if you turn your back for a second it boils over and that's a huge freaking mess) 5. Simmer for 10-12 minutes. During the last 2 minutes, add the shredded cheese and stir it in until it's all melted. And that's it. It doesn't take long at all and it doesn't take a ton of work.

I don't hate Maverick... but I don't like it either. It did hurt and there was nothing really redeeming because to enjoy it I had to cement myself in place. -
ADHD and Front of the Line Privileges
B-RadG replied to tuxedomask5432's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Just to add my thoughts... My best friend has ADHD and never got front of the line privileges for having it. That was probably due to the fact that he was able to control it most of the time and act normally. Albeit he had medicine, on the days he forgot to take it he brought a pen and would click it. -

That would be Diamondback at Kings Island. It would also be muuch better without that sensor at the top. -

This fulfills all of my nerdy Cedar Point dreams to no end The weird things from Corkscrew that you weren't sure of are parts for the brakes. -
BuzzSaw Falls was originally a Premier Rides Water Coaster prototype. It opened in 1999 and reopened as Powder Keg in 2005. Since it was a prototype, it had a lot of bugs and even after the first year it was still unreliable. On top of that, it was short and didn't do much of anything. BuzzSaw Falls closed in 2003. For the 2005 season, S&S was contacted to "reinvent" it but still keep the family-friendly aspect. The launch and first half were not part of Premier's design. The track with the spine is S&S's track and the two-rail with ties is Premier's track (if I'm correct, y'all SDC natives feel free to correct me.) Basically BuzzSaw Falls was just a Premier version of MACK's Water Coaster... with a lot less interesting things. BuzzSaw Falls/Powder Keg RCDB page

Rant: Children who don't know how to write: Example: your and you're are two different words Thank you! I hate word confusions like that. It drives me crazy. Especially when it's used in the sentence "OMG YOUR SO GAYYY!" That just annoys me. Our = possessive of multiple people, are = plural state of being Their = possessive plural pronoun, they're = they are, there = a place (over there, go there) Your = possessive, you're = you are. Were = past tense verb, we're = we are And People Who Capitalize Every Single, Word, And Use, Unnecessary, Commas. How people can't even utilize the language they were raised on baffles me. If it's a foreigner I can understand a few things but at the level people do now... it's just stupidity and laziness.

Personally, I favor a crapella music During my four years of chorus I was always under the impression that a cappella meant voices only (and it literally means "In the style of the church") and generally that was derived from Gregorian chants (the silly monk music where they all sound like a bunch of drunk, sleep-deprived men). Seriously, however, I personally don't like a cappella renditions of modern music. It's all right with some songs but most it isn't.

Parks Coasters and Rides in Movies and TV
B-RadG replied to spike's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Just got home from Morning Glory (which was awesome, by the way) and GASM stars as "The Manhandler." The Manhandler is a brand-new coaster with a 95 degree drop and it reaches 133 mph. -
GTA IV (PS3)- Already beat it twice and I just did the first mission for Ray Boccino again.

Six Flags Over Texas (SFOT) Discussion Thread
B-RadG replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Arrows, Vekomas, wooden coasters, and basically any coaster with wheels running on the inside of the rails (and some on the outside too) don't have their guide wheels touching at all times. I know the space between an Arrow car's guide wheels (assuming it's perfectly centered on the track) is 1/2 an inch on either side. I don't think that would pose too much of a problem with moving around and hitting the bolts, the track is a lot bigger than it looks in pictures. Even if the car does have that one inch of space it's not enough to run over one of the bolts. Exempli gratia- -
And to add to this now, the dealer "not being able to replicate the problem." It wouldn't start and it's happened thrice...
