TR: Heide Park Resort
B-RadG replied to Gerstlauer1's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
So glad that people love Krake. It's just one of those cute little things that wants everyone to love it. Seriously though, if I ever go to Germany, Heide is near the top of my list. Nice report. -
And this is the part that makes me scoff. One shouldn't have to be taught not to grope someone. If I'm at work and I make the choice to grab someone, that's the fault of my boss? No way, that's my own lack of common sense or self restraint. Plus, what difference does it make if he's from India? Yes, they have different culture but I'm not sold on the idea that intentional molestation is one of them. No, he shouldn't have groped them. Yes, this is a valid lawsuit. That point, however, is invalid. One should not have to be taught by an employer what's considered a "special area." That is not the person who trained him's fault in the slightest. How awkward would it be if on the first day of training your boss says "Now don't grab anybody's tits?"

Ah, I see we have another fan of theme park wanking! Make that three. Your satire, sir, is praiseworthy. -

yep, a single inversion that's been used hundreds of times for decades defines a coaster. Not to mention that nasty knock to the head as you enter the loop. And the horrible rattle that ensues the rest of the ride. World class all right. -
How useless... I immediately thought of this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aKsJXVFcREY

There are multiple things that aren't appropriate for text messaging. One of those would be firing an employee. At least have the damn courtesy to call them.

Crazy, crazy children. You can pick out coasters at KD that specifically suck. There's literally one coaster that would make a Top 25 list and that's Intimidator 305. Busch Gardens has Griffon, Alpengeist, and Apollo's Chariot. All of which have been highly praised and ranked since they opened. In fact, Intimidator 305 was not even in the top 10 in the Golden Tickets the year it opened (no, they're not the most reputable source.) The highest rated coaster at KD was ranked 57th in 2009, Volcano. Apollo's Chariot had 16th, Griffon 27th, and Alpengeist 54th. So the point here is... no, that is a false statement. Though they may have more credits they don't have better coasters. -

Woah. That is just full of epic orgiastic massive win. -
Well I mean artwork tends to be pretty lenient in its acceptance Anyhow I'm slightly intrigued by this. Just the idea that this has been thought of and actually visualized.

I am not trying to start an argument or anything like that. I just want to state my reason behind buying one. . . First of all, you are totally right. You do not see nearly as many any more. They are huge, and very difficult to drive in traffic, or try to fit into parking spaces. But I like that. I like the size of the car, and I love the challenge of trying to drive it on a day to day basis. Second of all, the gas mileage is not as bad as most people make it out to be. The gas mileage is very comparable to a Dodge Ram, a Ford Expedition, a Nissan Armada, or a Cadillac Escalade, and you see many more of those cars than you do Hummer's. (After Driving one for a week in day today life my average MPG was 12.9, while my mother averages 13 in her Ram, and the Escalade that I drove for a week averaged 11.2) Price? . . . I would NEVER spend 60k on a car. This one is preowned, its a 2007 and it is in the Mid 20's. So as I have been shopping and saving for a car, I have also been doing my research on cars, and comparing the cars that I was debating between. In the end the Hummer came out on top. ~Matt Ignorance at its finest. Some lovely facts you probably don't know and haven't bothered to look into. Some other COOL things to know! (Look at #2!) Just in case you're wondering, owning a car that big doesn't make you more manly nor does it make you look cool. It makes you look like an ignorant idiot. I drive a minivan and at even 20 mpg combined I'm annoyed at how often I need gas. If you have $20some thousand to piss away that's cool, if you're willing to have to pay an extra $4000 per year on gas then you're just dumb. Not to mention that even with that (very weak) V8 you're still going to move really damn slow. If you're going to get something crappy and made of plastic with horrendous gas mileage at least get something people won't want to key you or slash your tires because of. Id est a Chrysler Aspen (hey, you may actually look cool since most people don't know what they are) or a Ford Flex or hell even a Honda Pilot if you strictly want the box-on-wheels, trying to look different (and possibly idiotic) style.

I waited for Shockwave right when it was opened (out to the freakin Carroseul) and it was only 30 minutes. I was on the next train when they took the red train off, it had been clanging for a while but nobody seemed to notice until it did it bad. I don't usually bother with Volcano either unless the wait is extremely short. -
As of fifteen minutes ago I work at Bruster's Ice Cream. First job ever.

I went to the park today expecting it to be a slow weekday. I was so far from right. Every single ride had a full queue, even Rebel Yell. Overall it was a good day though. I got a lot of rides in. My last ride was Flight of Fear and I ended up waiting almost two hours. Am I honestly the only person that doesn't like Dominator? Everyone loves it but I honestly think it's rattly and forceless. -

Holy steepness Batman! This ride looks better now that it's starting to come together, it really shows how "crammed in" it is. -

Just got home from Kings Dominion. Aside from some unwanted wind and painful hail, it was a great day. Intimidator 305 is better than it was even on April 2, 2010. The trimless first drop is just great and the airtime on the second hill is ungodly good. Plus the trims on the third airtime hill don't slow you as much. Albeit I did start to black out just a little in the first turn, it was nowhere near as sustained as it used to be. So great job on the "new" Intimidator, Kings Dominion. Shockwave's new paint looks great in person and the new sign is pretty cool. The station also got a refresh and is BRIGHT yellow (along with the queue railings.) Aside from that I can't think of much else that was new or exciting. Lines were actually really short and the operators were on it. -

Wow... that just makes me all hot and bothered. That looks great alone and with the theming is just orgiastic. I'm speechless and mildly jealous of all of the Italians. (cue all the "OMFG CP/SFMM/MYHOMEPARK SHOULD GET 1 0F THESE L0LLL"s) -

I saw this on the news a few minutes ago and I thought it was a pretty awesome idea They said that you can use them for ordering food, instead of a waiter getting your order you pick what you want on the iPad and someone brings it to you. -

I'd love to know where you got the idea that they re-routed the entire queue to avoid the UFO... no, they shut the ride down at 4:00 PM on Haunt days and remove a few wooden walls and turn it into the Haunt maze. During the season the wooden walls block off the indoor switchbacks and you walk by and into the UFO. Also, where did you hear they leave the lights on?? Yeah, a strobe and a couple colored lights. Totally ruins the experience -
