I agree, maybe just turn it into more of a walk through thing. You would still stop in the pre shows, but you would leave when the train in the station leaves, not when the pre show would end. Then the 3rd room would move up, fill that train, etc. That would definitely take care of the problem. In all the times I've been on the ride, no one really pays attention to the pre-show (which is sad) and if they want to, it isn't possible with all the noise of people talking and ignoring it.

2010 Predictions
CreditCrazy replied to deathbydinn's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I would think most of the big additions for 2010 have already been announced, unless there is something going to China...which there probably is. At the moment, 2010 isn't looking like the most exciting year coaster-wise. Really all that interests me is Intimidator 305, Efteling's Dueling GCIs, whatever the Yellow Mack Track is, and whatever Toverland is getting. It's sad to see that there are no plans for another Mega-Lite in 2010 yet, I really hope they continue to be built and grow in layouts (and hopefully make thir way to the US). I do agree with the grow in Vekoma's though. I don't have all of them memorized but there have been a lot Mine Trains, kiddie coasters, and now new types of coasters from them (Battlestar Gallactica) being built recently. -
The Rumor / Crazy Idea Superthread

While on rcdb today I noticed the 'New For 2011' section was already up. I clicked on it and found four new coasters going to Rainbow MagicLand, which apparantly is a new park opening in 2011. I'm assuming this is very recent news as I haven't heard, read or found anything on it. The four coasters are a Vekoma Mine Train, Vekoma Junior Coaster, Maurer Sohne X-Car with an LSM, and an enclosed Maurer Sohne Spinning Coaster. http://www.rcdb.com/5627.htm Sounds like a very promising park already, can't wait to find some more news on this! -

I was just across the street from that on Saturday at the Academy of Sciences. I don't recommend it.

Part 2 Kong at sunset (forgot about this one too...) Just thought I should throw this in here. Who cares if it's too late? Oh, they had these christmas trees in the stations. Millennium Force's overbanked turn > Tony Hawk's Overbanked turn. Tony Hawk's Big Motion-Sickness-Hater I love sledding!! F*ck you whale! Psh, only GP holds on to OTSR's. And so is the one below it. Unfortunately this hill is very B&Mish. Who cares if I used a puddle for my reflection shot, it worked! Roar through the flowers yeah yeah. Great ride at night, decent ride during the day. Off to Roar. V2 was closed for rehab, so SFDK thought putting reindeer up there would make up for it. They aren't gonna fool me, those reindeer are FAKE!!! Except he liked it...??? Atem rode the other Vekoma alone while I took pictures. And lastly, a look at this poor vandalized Vekoma wheel. The End -
Since I make a PTR at least every month, I thought instead of continuing to post a ton of little threads I'd make one big one to post them all in. _____________________________________________________________ So to start the thread off, here is a PTR of my lastest park visit. I went to Holiday In The Park at SFDK on Sunday and it was a hella good time. The weather was pretty cold but I think that scared people away as it was pretty much empty! I rode Medusa seven times, Roar five times, Roadrunner once, the Sled Hill twice (closest to sledding I've ever gotten), and the Thomas Town train once. The park was very nice and clean as usual. Oh yeah, Atem was there too. Fortunately, although it was cold (and supposed to rain), the sun was positioned perfectly making for some nice pictures. More to come. I just couldn't fit my camera through the fence to get a clear shot... Got this from Medusa's station. I had learned my lesson from my ride in July. Atem rode while I took pictures. Fair deal right? I heard him screaming from the ground. Then it was off to Kong. Well, B&Ms sure do LOOK exciting. Okay okay, here is a true Medusa through the trees shot. Medusa...avoiding the trees!?!?!?! Medusa and the moon. Great first drop. But it's still a good ride. I just think it's kind of funny how SFDK randomly sticks a Greek themed ride in the park. Medusa was running nice and B&My.

^ I haven't been to any of those parks but Day 1 is impossible with those times. I just mapquested Rye Playland to Darien Lake and they are over 6 hours apart. Then Darien Lake to Lake Compounce is about 6 and a half hours. That doesn't include eating, traffic, getting in/out of the car, parking, and walking to the parks either.

Mitch Hawker's Coaster Poll 2009!
CreditCrazy replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Five and one more is on the way. I'm more worried about the GG's falling than the GCI's. Gravity Group reminds me a lot of CCI (wonder why?). Their coasters are great at first (Ghostrider is a perfect example) and then they just get rougher and rougher. I understand that some people like to get the $h!t beat out of them on a coaster, and some of their rides may not have gotten to that point quite yet (although it looks like Hades and Bullet have) but at the moment it looks like they are all aging poorly. We'll see how the Timberliners do. Hopefully they will help and GG will get them on all of their coasters ASAP because their rides really do have amazing layouts. -
Mitch Hawker's Coaster Poll 2009!

^ I agree that it's disappointing that Beast is only really good at night, and it gets knocked down in my ratings for that, but it still ranks very high on my woodie list. I understand that it won't rank well on a list of 300+ wooden coasters, but most of the people that take the poll haven't ridden that many woodies. I just always seem to find it on wooden Top 10 lists...I guess not everyone is taking the poll? -
Mitch Hawker's Coaster Poll 2009!

I'm surprised that Beast keeps getting such a low rank. With all the people obsessed with the ride at night (including me) I would think it'd be a lot higher. -
Mitch Hawker's Coaster Poll 2009!
CreditCrazy replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Some surprising results. I wouldn't call Voyage the #1 woodie in the world, but hey, I still like the ride, so it's fine with me. I'm glad to see Bizarro still at #1 steel. I was a little worried about it dropping because of people not like the re-vamp (...) but I guess it affected the ride in a positive way. I'm also really happy to see El Toro ahead of the other pre-fabs; it looks like the best imo. Prowler at #7!? Good for Worlds of Fun adding such a nice little coaster...I would certainly call the place a must-go-to park now. I disagree with Diamondback at #4, but I'm sure it'll drop after a few years. Behemoth opens, everyone goes to CW's, forgets about it...Diamondback opens, everyone goes to KI (including me ), forgets about it...Intimidator will probably be the same. Well, by next year I guess I will have ridden the world's two best wooden coaster and #1 steel! Can't wait to see the rest of the results. -
Most Overrated coaster?
CreditCrazy replied to BlackWidow's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Yes! I agree 100%. I would much rather have Magnum's "painful" ejector than lame B&M floater air. Riding in the back of Magnum, it does hurt, but it's awesome flying out of your seat up-and-down through tunnels. I love it. I do have Diamondback (which I think is overrated) ranked one spot ahead of Magnum (which I think is UNDERrated) but that's because Diamondback is much more re-ridable and has a great first drop. I think they are the closest coasters to a tie in my Top 10 (Diamondback is #8 and Magnum is #9). -
Yeah...that isn't dark blue...but it looks cool next to Riddler's. Speaking of the onride photo flash on Batman a few posts up, that reminds me, did Riddler's Revenge used to have an on-ride photo? I've only been riding the ride since June 08' and there wasn't an on-ride photo then, but I'm pretty sure there's on-ride photo flash inbetween the two dive-loops.

Nice trip reports. About Simpsons at USF, what made it make you sick? I'm planning on going to USH sometime in 2010 and am really clueless about Simpsons (I have motion sickness...so I'm not sure if I should ride it. I don't even know if it's different or not than Florida's.) -
Favorite Crowd-Interactive Coasters
CreditCrazy replied to PKI Jizzman's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Besides what has already been mentioned, I'm going to say Manhattan Express (now called 'Roller Coaster'...) Everytime I would go to Las Vegas, I would make sure to walk around the ride, go in the NYNY pool area, etc. I could watch it for hours (I was way too scared to ride it at the time). Raptor is also a lot of fun to watch, as you can walk around the ride. Same with Tatsu (even though you can't walk all around the ride, you can see it everywhere). Besides coasters, I love watching Top Spins (especially Riptide at Knott's). It's great watching riders flipped all over the place and getting the fountains in their face.
