This basically confirms Kentucky Kingdom turning into Geauga Lake imo. I think that would be the best move. Chang is gone, the park's ride collection is pointless, other Six Flags parks could get new rides, and SFKK could turn into one great waterpark. While Screamscape was right about Chang leaving, I still think they're wrong about it going to SFGAm. This is the perfect ride for SFA, which Six Flags seems like it is going to keep with Thomas Town coming next year. On another note, I have finally ridden a defunct coaster!

Worst Coaster Ever?

Invertigo (CGA and KI), Firehawk, and T2/Kong are my least favorites. Vekoma FTL. -
What coasters do you want to ride?
CreditCrazy replied to CoasterCrazy's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'll just do a Top 10 for the U.S. (in no order) for now since it is not likely that I will make it to Europe/Asia in the next few years. 1. Bizarro (SFNE) 2. Boulder Dash 3. Dueling Dragons (Fire and Ice) 4. El Toro 5. Fahrenheit 6. Griffon/SheiKra 7. Intimidator 305 (yeah...already on here) 8. Montu 9. Storm Runner 10. Thunderhead -
Which is worse, Arrow or Vekoma?
CreditCrazy replied to MLRC7 CP's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Depends what kind of coaster...I'd say a Vekoma Boomerang with Vekoma trains is smoother than an Arrow Looper like Viper, Vortex, or Demon. Arrow mine trains a suspended coasters are smooth though, and SLC's are horribly rough. BUT...Vekoma's kiddie coasters and mine trains are smooth and Arrow's 4D is really rough. So I dunno..I'd say Arrow's are more enjoyable (I definitely like the company OVERALL better) but the rides that they do make rough are ROUGH and most of Vekoma's coasters pretty much average out somewhere in the middle imo. -
Kings Island. The park is very nice but some of the operations (cough Firehawk cough) were terrible and the coaster collection is horrible.

My opinion on Colossus: I hate the ride. It has to be one of my least favorite coasters and I rarely ride it anymore. It's not as rough as some other woodies (Ghostrider, Mean Streak, Voyage, Legend) and the roughness isn't even the main reason I hate it. It's the layout! I hate these out and back racing coasters like Racer at KI and Colossus. They can be rough but most of all they get really boring and they don't have any airtime. Colossus has a decent first drop but it is so loud you have to cover your ears and the MCBR is really strong. I'd say the least rough/most enjoyable spot to ride Colossus in is the back but really in every spot it is pretty bad woodie.

How fast is Eagle's Fortress?

Is it officially closed? I thought it was just SBNO. -

How fast is Eagle's Fortress?
CreditCrazy posted a topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
According to rcdb, Eagle's Fortress is 40 mph. I just can't see that as being true, especially seeing the speed of other suspended coasters. Big Bad Wolf: 48 mph Flight Deck: 51 mph Iron Dragon (also known as Draggin' Iron): 40 mph Ninja: 55 mph Vampire: 45 mph Vortex: 55 mph Iron Dragon and Eagle's Fortress can't possibly be the same speed. And if Eagle's Fortress really was 40 mph, that would mean that it's tied for the slowest suspended coaster...yet it was rated the 2nd best steel coaster in the world last year and is supposed to insane. Another thing I don't get, aren't Flight Deck and Vortex clones? According to rcdb, they are different speeds (see above). So is rcdb just wrong with all of these or what? -

Try 4.5. I don't understand how this ride could possibly cost $6 million MORE than Pilgrims Plunge, which not only is 40 feet taller, but also uses an elevator lift, which surely wasn't cheap. I know that this ride has an extra drop, but that second hill is less than 50ft tall, and uses a traditional lift hill. How does that add up to $10.5 million? But that aside, I think this looks like a great addition to the Point. It seems like it will be in a nice location, and the look of the final drop into those "rapids" will turn out to be really cool, I bet. Judging by the fact that the Pilgrims Plunge's boats are dropping from an extra 40 feet, and that you rarely get completely "soaked" on that ride, I doubt you will get as wet on STR as many of you are imagining. Of course, if they end up installing that waterfall as it is in the animation, that may cause problems...by you shouldn't pay too close attention to the 3D renderings on a ride like this. (Remember how large they displayed PP's splash as being? Yeah...that's not how it turned out). With only 7 boats, PP's line never stops moving, and I'm guessing that it also has longer blocking intervals, because of the elevator lift. Therefore, I doubt capacity will be much of an issue on this new ride. Can't wait to ride STR next year! The whole cost thing is interesting. I would think it would hopefully be for theming, but unfortunately I can't see too much theming on this ride. -

This looks like a lot of fun! I am a huge log ride fan and this is exactly what CP needed. Looks like you will be able to get some nice shots of MF on it too. -

The infamous Rollback!
CreditCrazy replied to themeparkman25's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Yes, I actually have! I have experienced a very rare Xcelerator rollback last April, and it was awesome. The train was going very slowly over the top hat, almost stalled, and I started thinking "rollback?". Then the train started crawling backwards (you don't know how excited I was) and there we went...down half of a top hat 200 ft. backwards. The train hit the brakes on the launch pad and we slowly came back into the station and were let off. The ride then closed...didn't even get a re-launch, but I'm not complaining.
