  1. Go to Cedar Point. I would expect both to have bad crowds but there's always that chance where Kennywood will run one train on every coaster when CP is running as much as possible. Even with huge crowds at CP you could probably get on quite a few good rides. Besides Phantom at Kennywood, I kind of think of Kennywood's coasters as "Fun, I could keep riding them, but with an hour long wait...I think I'll just ride it once and leave" and if you think the same as me at the park...you will probably get bored quickly.
  2. I agree that it gets really annoying how crowded it gets over in that area of the park during the show. It's especially hard to get through because there isn't any seating so you just have a huge crowd standing trying to see the show. The staff does a great job of making it as organized as possible, but it's still a mess. Seating would be nice, but I would think the only way to do that without making it look out of place would to be to have the show in a stadium which almost wouldn't be worth it. Besides the whole crowd issue, I still just think the show is okay. I'm not a show person and I've only seen Fantasmic once with a pretty bad view, so my opinion isn't really fair. I definitely have to see it again sometime, especially with this new dragon.
  3. I remember when I tried going to the park last November, I had to turn around because of all the fires. Saw some smoke in the air, turned the radio on, found out that the freeways would be closed, and turned around...about half way there too. The park must have been dead that day. So, yes, fires must affect the park's attendance.
  4. I agree. I've ridden X2 in the front on an outside seat before (only time on the outside) and it was horribly rough and unenjoyable. Some people seem to not notice a huge difference but for me...I have to make sure I get the inside every time I ride it or it just isn't worth the long wait it gets.
  5. I think the dragon looks great...it's just disappointing that everyone that went to the park for the summer missed it and like Robb said it took this long to finally make the dragon look this good.
  6. My school starts at 7:15. My dad who lives in Colorado, there's a private school near him that starts at 6:45. Holy crap!!! My bus comes at 6:30. I used to drive occasionally, but then I wrecked my car on my way home from work Mine starts at 9:00, happy about that, but I get out at 3:30. I started on August 3rd ( )...already bored and tired of everything.
  7. Batman The Ride: The back...and the back only. Definitely NOT a front seat ride. Feeling like your legs are going to rip off is a good thing. Canyon Blaster: Wherever the kids don't want to sit. Colossus: No where, kill it. Deja Vu: Never tried the back or very front, so I guess middle. Gold Rusher: The front. Goliath: The back, you get the best airtime and the more intense helix (which means I get to black-out, woohoo!!) No, it isn't Nitro, but yes, IT IS THERE! Ninja: The back, unless you want to fall asleep, then sit in the front. Percy's Railway: Revolution: The back, I find it smoother but I don't really think it matters on this one. Riddler's Revenge: The front. Scream!: What atem said. Superman The Escape: What atem said. Tatsu: The front, unless you want to throw up on those nice red railings, then the back. Terminator Salvation The Ride: If you want to get the little airtime Terminator has, sit in the back. Viper: The back, because it is surprisingly a lot smoother than the front. X2: The front.
  8. Neither did I. It was Holiday World's r-tarded staff that loved to staple you and tighten your seatbelt until you couldn't breathe.

  10. Nice TR. That Nitro and Batman at sunset picture is great.
  11. I like the ride. The layout looks a little interesting for a B&M hyper and it looks like it will have some good air. This kind of coaster is perfect for Carowinds.
  12. Awesome TR. It's almost hard to believe that SFMM was that empty, and that you rode Viper 5 times in a row... (even though it's still fun). I really have to find a way to get there soon before the crowds come back.
  13. "Strikes Twice" could mean a shuttle coaster.
  14. really , how do you get air on the hill? i only ever felt it once, do you leave your lapbar loose ? where do you sit? hmmm, Of course I leave my lap bar a little loose (doesn't every coaster enthusiast?) and you can get airtime anywhere on the train but I find it stronger in the back. Out of my ride list, I have to give rides like Phantom's Revenge, Magnum, Voyage, Maverick and Blue Streak the credit for the most air, but Goliath is definitely up there and while these rides do have better airtime than Goliath, Goliath's one hill is one of my favorite moments of airtime.
  15. ^ I don't get it. Sure, Magnum and Phantom's Revenge have tons more airtime than Goliath. Goliath only has one hill, really, how much airtime could it have?? A LOT (just on that one hill of course). That 3rd hill has some of the best airtime ever (imo)...and that's what keeps me coming back to Goliath, that's what makes Goliath awesome, that's what makes Goliath the 2nd best coaster at SFMM and that's what makes Goliath my #4 coaster. I love that 3rd hill! It is truly amazing.
  16. Silver Bullet (KBF) 25 times, but I've only been riding it for a little over a year.
  17. IMO, Santa Cruz's is much better than Belmont's. Both have fun pre-lift tunnels but I thought Santa Cruz's was better. Santa Cruz had more airtime (both don't have too much, but Belmont has zero) and I found it smoother. I would rank Giant Dipper Santa Cruz as the 4th best woodie in California, behind Terminator, Roar and Ghostrider and Giant Dipper San Diego towards the bottom, just ahead of Grizzly and Colossus (never rode Psyclone).
  18. That's great news. It'll be interesting to see how they turn out/look.
  19. If I owned a theme park I think it would be cool to have it be small but packed with awesome compact rides (GCI, mega-lite, el loco, ball coaster, euro fighter, etc.) I would also make sure the park had a great drop tower, fun flats, dark rides, and some unique water rides. Then there would be an Intamin giga circling the entire park and parking lot.
  20. ^ That's just an opinion. Someone might say Mean Streak is their favorite woodie even though most people hate it. You never know, even at a park with 5 coasters, Tornado may be the only coaster the person has ridden. Maybe he/she hasn't ridden it in a long time, or likes how it goes "upside down", etc...or the person was just drunk.
  21. Well, what do you mean by "big"? At the moment, I just can't imagine how they could build a proper "world's biggest coaster" without making Top Thrill Dragster feel irrelevant. I'm certainly not married to this spinning coaster idea, but I'm pretty sure it would be easy to build the world's biggest one. "Big" meaning a B&M, a GCI, an aquatrax, etc., not a spinning coaster. I'm not thinking a record breaker, but something good. Even the world's biggest spinning coaster would disappoint people, especially when the park has hinted at bigger things.
  22. While I think it is un-realistic for the park to get something big, I think they will. Would they really hint at a GCI or aquatrax and then get a spinning coaster? I think it'll be something that hasn't been mentioned yet, and a decent sized coaster.
  23. That is weird. I always get free water with ice whenever I go to SFMM. Same with other SF/CF parks I've asked at.
