Knoebel's visit

I could easily spend two or 3 days there. You can spend a day riding all the dry rides and then spend a day just in the water park lounging in the sun. -

Has this ever happened to you?
alilstronger replied to dominoes's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Apparently it has happened on a Vekoma Flyer, I can't imagine how terrifying that would have been. I was terrified because it happened as we were going down the first drop. -

I am glad you have been that lucky. I posted that one of my arm restraints came totally loose on the Batwing at Six Flags America and it did. The coaster has a separate restraint for each arm and one of the restraints came totally loose. It extended fully out mid ride. -

It pays to arrive early at a theme park

I always get to a park before they open and stay till they close. I am someone that likes to ride every coaster and flat ride - I guess I am just a total ride whore! I've noticed that when the park opens it the best time to visit the water park part of a park. Most people know that mid day in the summer the lines for water slides are crazy long. So I get them finished and out of the way first thing and then enjoy the rest of park in the afternoon. The heat doesn't bother me at all. -

Living just outside the messed up city of Baltimore. The park closest to me is Six Flags America. You do not have to feel sorry for me - I do not go there a lot. Kings Dominion - 2 hours Hershey Park - 1 hour and 45 minutes Six Flags Great Adventure - 2 hours and 45 minutes Dorney Park - 2.5 hours Busch Gardens/Water Country USA - 3 hours Dutch Wonderland - 1.5 hours Sesame Place - 1.5 hours Knoebels - 2.5 hours Adventure Park USA - 1.5 hours -

I was riding Batwing at Six Flags America once and one of my arm restraints came loose. So I had one arm fastened in and one was not. I was actually scared. Then another time I was on Mind Eraser at Six Flags America and the over the shoulder restraint came loose one click through the first inversion. I was petrified but still ride it. Another time I was on a Zipper at a local carnival with this kid I just met because you can not ride them solo. Well they started the ride before our door was shut. The operator that was securing us was not the one operating the ride. The one operating was not paying any attention to other side since they load facing both ways. So here I am in this ride with this small child scared sh*tless - I am pushing against the top and bottom with one hand and both feet while holding my arm across the kid with the other. The whole time my mom is screaming and yelling on the ground to get us down The guy that was securing our car jumped up and was holding onto the door dangling about 10 feet above the ground - he was yelling to me to sit back and move your hands and feet away from the door. By this time the ride had stopped. He managed to slam it shut and climbed back to the ground... ...The zipper is still my FAVORITE carnival ride. -
Weirdest Things The 'GP' Have Said
alilstronger replied to maliboomer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
It gets me every time when I go to a park and people complain about high prices like they have NEVER been to an amusement park before. The conversation usually goes like this: Me: "Well, you are at an amusement park." (I say this no directly to who I am with, but loud enough for them to hear) Them: "well it does not have to cost that much!" (In a mean you smart a$$ kind of way) Me: "I just saw you get off that BRAND NEW coaster that cost almost $20 million - how else do you think they pay for them?" Them: Give me a stunned look like they did not expect a roller coaster to cost that much. I actually have had conversation like that before with GP at parks before. -
Weirdest Things The 'GP' Have Said

I was at Hersheypark with an EX of mine and we just say down to eat lunch at the eatery that resembles a coal mine under the arcade. Mom: "OK, everyone come sit over here" (the sit right behind us) Kids: Running around not listening. Mom: "OK guys, come sit down" Kids All come scurrying to sit Mom: "OK, what flavor of milk do you want - chocolate, strawberry, or white" My ex and I instantly looked at each and busted out laughing. It was the way she said it. For anyone going on the north east trip I can reenact her. Also I think it is so cute when you are in line for some really big, fast, tall, multi-inversion coaster and some little kid ask: "Will this be scary?" and the parent says "No, it is like riding _____ (name of some kiddie ride". And then when the ride is over the kid runs from their parents and hides. -

Go to Dollywood there are SEVERAL! We couldn't believe it when we saw it. There is nothing like that in Maryland. Anyway I am happy for the park to buy the additional land. -
