Kings Dominion (KD) Discussion Thread
alilstronger replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
After the first drop it just twists and turns and I find that boring for it having such a huge drop. I wanted more hills and at least one inversion. I did not feel the need for over the shoulder restraints. I understand that may have something to do with safety or what not but I still do not see the point. The quick twist during the ride were quite rough as well. I had more fun on EVERY other coaster at the park. I have more fun on Steel Force at Dorney. Millennium Force looks fun, have not rode it yet. My BF did not like the coaster either and thinks Millennium Force is a way better ride. I will make my opinion once I ride it. As for the park, I have been several times over the years (I do not live far at all from it). I have NO issues with the park at all, just that ride. The park is taken care of A LOT better now that Cedar Fair owns it in my opinion. The rest of the coasters are a lot of fun. My favorite is Dominator which is followed by Grizzly. -

So I will probably be hated by a lot of people on here but we all deserve our opinion... ...I went to Kings Dominion on 8/26/10 and rode Intimadator... I did not like it. It was BORING in my opinion. Other then that I really do not have anything else to say about it. -

Hersheypark (HP) Discussion Thread
alilstronger replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^ Hershey maintenance is pretty good with getting rides up and moving. They should have them talk to Six Flags America workers. I am so excited to see what Hershey has up their sleeves for these markers. Hopefully it is something worth it. They know people like us see these kinds of things and get excited and start talking. -
What area really needs a theme park?
alilstronger replied to let1gre's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Delaware, ehhh, maybe, depending on where you live SFA is 2 hours. As for Maryland, if you live in the west you go Kennywood, central and east, you got SFA, KD, HP, BGW, and SFGAdv, (SFGAdv and BGW are both exactly 3 hours from where I live, Germantown, I don't find that to long of a drive honestly). Maryland does NOT need an amusement park, SFA just needs to gets it's act together. Phoenix? I don't see why not, year round operation, plenty of people in the area, easy (and probably cheap) land. I know all them parks are close to MD. I am just over them because I have been to them so many times. I am ready for something new. -

Very nice update! I hope we get lots of behind the scenes next year on the north east trip! I will admit though BGE is an OK park ride wise. Please do not get me wrong the park is BEAUTIFUL!!! They put so much into the scenery. I was very impressed with Loch Ness Monster but Alphengeist and Apollos Chariot was not fun at all to me. -

Western Maryland could use something. Closet they have is Kennywood and it is still about 2 hours away. Delaware could use an amusement park. They had one but it closed down after I believe one or two seasons. -
I honestly can not decide. I have been on both kinds and enjoy both greatly.

I mostly agree with you. I live about 45-50 min from the park and used to get a season pass every year. This was the first year I did not in 6 years. The park is falling apart. They put a lot of pride into the water park and neglect the dry side it appears. The park it self is pitiful. They have taken so many rides out over the years and have not put a majoy ride back in years! The last coaster they built is Batwing. The operations have always been terrible with employees acting like they could care less about their job or the happiness of the guest. They are very slow with checking restraints and are more worried about what is going on in each other personal lives or flirting with guest. I will disagree and state Wild One is really smooth. Also pls keep in mind I have not been to the park this year and I have heard it is a different atmosphere with the employees acting like they have sense.

I LOVE Pigeon Forge!!!! I wish I had more money to do all the side attractions when I was there last week for Dollywood. Side note: not very gay friendly down there hehe -
This trip was sooooo fun sweeite!!!!! My favorite none coaster was Mountain Slidewinder and I was pissed Timber Tower was closed ALL 4 DAYS!!! I have never seen better food at an amusement park and I will admit (a lot of people on here will hate me for this) I did NOT like the cinnamon bread. I am not big on cinnamon.

I am not reading over 1000 posts. If I put an idea that has been talked about then just move on... Ideas for a drop rides: -I would like to see a drop ride that takes you to the top of the drop spinning slowly. Once you get to the top it makes one turn all the way around. After that the seat tilts out till you are parallel to the group (facing the ground). After that it drops. -I would also like to see one that is enclosed and is completely 100% pitch black. This could involve some sort of theming with a scary voice or something. Scrambler ideas: -Take a normal scrambler and speed it up really fast, when the car swings out it flings out facing out towards the fance or completely spins all together. Roller coaster train: -To help with maximizing the amount of people a tain can hold. They can create a car that instead of sitting in a row behind each other everyone faces out so when you are in your seat you are perpendicular to the track and there could be a row on both sides of the track doubling how many people can be on the car. The seats would not be right next to each other but would be 2 and have a space between them like this -- -- -- -- and so on. -
SFDK Boomerang Stalls Midcourse

I feel like the lifts on these coasters are almost never tall enough. I know when I get on Sidewinder at Hershey or Tidal Wave at Trimpers after being dropped forwards, going through the cobra roll, and then getting to the loop the train slows down dramatically. It is almost the same when it is dropped backwards and goes back through the cobra roll, the train slows down a lot. I just feel as though the hills on these needs to be built taller if they are going to continue to manufacture these. You hear a lot about them getting stuck on the cobra roll. Another thing could also be taking the cobra roll out all together and figuring out antoher element to put in its place.I have made several coasters like this on RCT and have used many many different elemends in that part. -

I dream of getting married at an amusement park. I can not wait for it to be legal in my area for gays to marry! A wedding at Hershey would be beautiful! -

It is quite fun. It is a lot easier then it looks. If it was up to me I would make the actual elements longer. Then it would make it a tad scarier and harder to do. I wish I would have had the money to get on the zip lines. They look AWESOME!!! For anyone going to Dollywood/Pigeon Forge. The up charge rides along the Parkway are pretty awesome and cheaper then what I am used to. -

OMG we were just at this park baby! The kids area looks crazy all tore up with us just walking through it this past Sunday!!! Mystery Mine was worth the 4 day wait for them to get a part it needed so it could run. This is one of the most beautiful parks I have ever been to. It even out does Hershey! Mountain Sidewinder was sooooooo fun!!!!!!! Also the shows were AWESOME!!! My favorite was the Drive-In show.
