^ Ummm....okay. We can be pretty backwards here in KY, but we're not that backwards...yet. And for the record, I think the Double Down looks great...just not as a sandwich. I'd take it apart and put it on top of a few biscuists and serve it open-faced with gravy....mmmm....is it lunchtime yet?

I don't know why they even tried to market Very Bad Things as a dark comedy. It's really a dark morality tale with a sprinkling of humor. But yeah, that one pushed my comfort zone (which is very wide) too...which was the point. If you liked this one, I highly recommend that you watch A Simple Plan. It's the best dark morality tale ever.

That's a nice location. Shame it was so hazy that day. Be sure to check out the Cars Thread over in Random as well.

Are there any Orbital fans here?

I'd love to see these TPR mini-trip "weekend getaways" become a more regular thing. From a financial and time investment perspective, they are much more do-able for a lot of us than a full fledged TPR trip. I will probably never be able to take a full TPR trip, but I could (and would) definitely do something like the Party Bus if it ever partied its way into my neck of the woods.

A buy one get one free ticket promotion would bring people in droves. You'd easily make your lost money (and much more) back on the extra concessions and games you'd sell as a result.

Well, I waited around all day on August 29, 1997 and nothing happened. Fool me once shame on you...

Club TPR Profiled In Major National Magazine!

^ Mine too. Furthermore, I consider my wife a "penaholic". We have at least 50 pens floating around the house. But she always hunts down the "old" TPR pen...even if there's already a different pen right there. No kidding. It's that good. We'll see if the Club TPR pen can live up to the original. -
Intimidator 305 Media Day Complete Coverage - Kings Dominion
Emiroo replied to cfc's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
I hadn't really been taken in by all the I305 hoopla until I saw the shot below. I mean Jesus H. Christ! Look at that drop! And though it's technically not, I think you'll be hard pressed to find anyone who doesn't agree that it goes straight down! KD has a winner for sure! -
Kings Dominion (KD) Discussion Thread

I never realized that first turn is immediately after the first drop. Carrying so much speed, it's going to be wild to say the least. Can't wait to hear the reviews. -

Does anybody know if card carrying members are allowed to bring a non-card carrying guest with them on the walkbacks this year? -
Going to parks alone?
Emiroo replied to alilstronger's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
In my experience, I've found that the freedom of going to a park alone is quite liberating and makes it a unique experience. You are able to take in more of your surroundings without the distraction of having someone else with you. However, I will say it's better to do it at a park you've already been to and ridden everything before. It is slightly disappointing to be all pumped up before/during/after a new ride and not having anyone to share that excitement with. I had my first ride on a B&M invert on a solo trip and I was high with adrenaline coming down the exit ramp. I wanted to share that feeling with someone so I called my wife on my cell. She was like, "Yeah...so it was fun? That's cool. Well I gotta go, the kids are trying to tip over the recliner." *Click* Talk about a Debbie Downer...wah...wah...wah. In that situation, it would have been much better to have someone with me. Imagine taking your first ride on Kingda Ka or Millie solo. I'm sure it cheapens the experience slightly for the same reason. -

PTR: Waterville USA, Gulf Shores AL
Emiroo replied to coasterer's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
I'm a moron. I've been to Gulf Shores 3 times in the last 10 years and didn't even know this place exisited. Where is it? We usually hole-up in the condo for the week which is located right by Fort Morgan...hence my stupidity. I've got to start checking the North American Amusement Park Map before I go anywhere anymore. Anyway, nice TR. -
I have 2 boys and I am familiar with them as well. Their names are: $10, $15, $10, $20, $25, etc. I tell you that Thomas crap is a racket. Doesn't the theme song say that there are only eight characters? Yet at the store, there are dozens upon dozens with new ones popping up weekly. These new characters aren't even referenced anywhere in the Thomas universe. They're just making up stuff at this point. But who wouldn't? It's like printing your own money. I hate Thomas. But my boys like him and his toys. Whaddya gonna do? [/offtopic]

Tips for Marathoning Bizarro
Emiroo replied to coasterdude28's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
That's cool. What's the prize? My advice would be to get a great night's sleep, stretch quite a bit and take some pain reliever before the contest. The fatigue factor is typically the deciding element in these contests. Good luck and post some pics!
