  1. Does KI still do the Starlight (After 4 PM) admission for $20 or does that not start until later in the season?
  2. I can sum up the main reason I love dark rides in two words: AIR CONDITIONING!
  3. I think the best scenario would be if both sides agree to walk away, keeping what they have in hand and consider the matter finished. SF will have one less park to manage and got an extra B&M out of the deal. KK will still have a decent ride portfolio along with an excellent waterpark. If Ed Hart could just then negotiate with the fair board to have complete ownership of the rides/property, life would be dandy. Except for those Top Eliminator Dragsters. The state fair board can keep those. The important thing here is that no matter what happens, the park will reopen and move forward again. That's always a good thing.
  4. Agreed. I'd LOVE to get over and see Orbital (among many, many, many others) live at the Glastonbury Festival, but that's never gonna happen. As least they were kind enough to release a live cd/dvd from there.
  5. ^^ KY State fair is in August, so there's time to get things running if all the pieces fall into place. And I'm sure they're gonna try because the SFKK rides are a huge moneymaker for the fair. Last time I was there, they wanted $6 for a ride on Chang and the queue was beyond full.
  6. Saw a near identical billboard over the weekend and LOLd.
  7. Same for Kentucky. We've actually had 2 tornados hit our city in the last 10 years each of which caused moderate damage. However, that's 2 hits for probably 1000 sirens. I found it interesting/comical that someone would find one so exciting. But then again, if I was in Cali and there was an earthquake (even a little one), I probably be pretty excited about it too.
  8. ^^^ Thanks for the recap. And was the tounge-in-cheek/sarcastic/humorous nature of my comment not clearly signified by the tongue smiley? Sorry if I offended/annoyed anyone's delicate sensibilities. Any reports on if final top speed is now dramatically (>10 mph) different?
  9. QFT. Jeez people. Bitch Bitch Bitch. I'm sure the ride is still awesome. Would you rather not have it, because I know several parks that would gladly take it off KD's hands.
  10. Fantastic shot. Always love the rider reactions. And were there flaming snakes or something at the bottom of the Legend's first drop that day? It is scary/exciting/fun, but certainly not as terrifying as your image suggests. Great PTR as usual.
  11. I had been fighting a paper jam in the copier for the better part of 30 minutes. (Jam was cleared, but machine still thought it wasn't) Very pissed, I made a last-ditch effort and gave it the old NES dust blow. SUCCESS! I should have known. The dust blow works every time!
  12. ^ They have a full blown waterpark called Splashin' Safari which is entirely in its own section of the park (and is accessible from two different entry points from within the theme park). The new Wildebeest ride is located in Splashin Safari. However, their "traditional" water rides like the log ride and rapids ride are scattered throughout the park; just like at every other park.
  13. Watched the That Metal Show rerun on VH1 with Dio in honor of him last night. They talked at length about how he truly was the "nice guy" of the metal scene; always accessible and accommodating to the fans. Rock in peace.
  14. Just the kind of details I was looking for. Thanks so much. If anyone knows more, keep posting! Those can be so hit and miss. Some have been great while others have been meh. If this is accurate, I'm going to hold off on the purchase. Not to mention, I'm still unsure of which version is the complete one. I guess it's probably the one in the gold foil packaging that's only for sale at WDW/DL for $99.99.
  15. When I was a kid, I remember watching a late-night movie which was a thriller about a detective tracking a killer who dispatches his victims in very unusual ways. In the end it turns out that the killer was a heavily tattoed man and his tattoos would come to life and kill his victims. (Example: His snake tattoo leapt off his body and killed some chick.) I remember the animations of them coming to life being kind of scary. But then again, I was only 8 or 9 at the time. I've been trying to figure out what movie this is for years. Any ideas out there?
  16. I was browsing Amazon and found this: Weird. There are actually three different versions (not just format) of this: Blu/DVD/Digital - 6 DVD Set - Single DVD Does anyone have more information about this collection? Specifically, is it 100% brand new material or just a repackaging of clips and specials throughout the years? Is it a true documentary or more of an advertisement? Theoretically, it looks good, but I'm not drinking the kool aid until I get more details than just a snazzy box shot. Thanks in advance for your help.
  17. Oops! How do you "modify" a boat that's too long? How much could they possibly take off without affecting boat integrity? But that's why they run the place and I'm just a guest.
  18. Easy Question: Will it come in the fancy translucent blue blu-ray case or a standard (black) DVD case?
  19. Fantastic! Ordered! And I can confirm that the Club TPR $10 coupon worked perfectly on it. Can't wait to get it!
  20. ^ Definitely. Maybe Jesus and Rusty Kuntz can work together to help Gertrude!
  21. 35. Let's not forget Gertrude's long time nemesis: The Aflac Duck
  22. "Hey, what does this button do?"
  23. The Man-Machine - Kraftwerk
  24. x 1000 I don't know what Google is thinking here. The Yellow Rose is a small country/western bar, not a strip club. Again, no strippers. And even if there were, I guarantee you wouldn't want any of the chicks you'll find in there to strip. Like others have said, make the hour drive to Louisville if you still need entertainment after Holiwood Nights.
  25. ^ Not to mention the great press Gravity Group can spin from it if it's a big success: "Our brand new Timberliner Trains are on the #1 Wooden Coaster on the planet and are a hit with both guests and the park maintenance crew. Why not refresh your worn out woodie by putting on a new Timberliner?"
