Kings Island (KI) Discussion Thread
Emiroo replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I vote for this. I've always thought a real invert (I don't count Invertigo) was the one jewel missing from the KI crown. B&M Inverts are always a crowd pleaser with enthusiasts and the GP alike. And if you throw a couple record breaks in there as well, all the better. I wonder if CF sees inverts as "dated" now though... No matter what happens (even if it is nothing), the removal of SoB is an excellent step forward for KI. The giant white elephant will soon be gone! -

Word up everyone. I'll be attending Microsoft's TechEd conference in Orlando next month. For it's closing party, Microsoft rented out Islands of Adventure on the 14th from 6 pm to Midnight. Only conference attendees will have access to the park and all attractions, food & drink (alcohol included!) will be free. My question is can the park be done in 5-6 hours? It will be my first time there. I definitely want to do Hulk, the coasters formerly known as Dueling Dragons and Spiderman. I'm not a Harry Potter fan (as in never read a HP book or seen a HP movie.), though I'll probably still check out the new ride there. What else IoA is a must see and what is skippable? Any tips will be appreciated.

Holiday World (HW) Discussion Thread
Emiroo replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I can't resist chiming in with my usual opinion for HW's first true steel: #1: A Maverick rip-off would be perfect. I'd even take a clone. #2: I'd love to see a heavily themed super custom B&M inverted. Think Nemesis crossed with Raptor. #3: I honestly think relocating Time Machine (Led Zepplin) is an excellent idea as well. But HW always comes up with the unexpected, so I don't expect to see any of this come to fruition. It will be a super double secret surprise when it is finally revealed. And as a final comment, Safari Sam's Splash Land is an amazing addition this year. Don't be fooled that it's kiddie. It's fun for everyone. My 3 year old loves it. My 6 year old loves it. My wife loves it. I love it. All 8 slides are awesome (and surprisingly fast) for all ages and add amazing capacity to the waterpark. -

Weird Roller Coaster Dreams
Emiroo replied to alpengeistdude321's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I had an awful one the other night: (Preface: I've never been to Cedar Point and it's a dream of mine to go.) In my dream, I was at CP. It was the last day of the season. I started at Maverick. It was down. I went to Raptor. It was down. I went to Millennium Force it was down. I couldn't find TTD. I saw Millennium Force testing and got back in line. I made it to the front of the line. It broke again. Then it started raining. Then they announced the park was closing and everyone had to leave. Then I woke up. I can still taste the disappointment. -

Impressive sundae, but let me know when you find the Ziggy Pig. -
Wendy's spicy chicken nuggets are too spicy. I love hot wings / hot salsa / etc, but those nuggets are pushing the limit. Wendy needs to tone it down a notch.

Sneak peek of Voyage and Wildebeest on WTF

Thanks for the awesome sneak peek Paula. I've wondered why that piece was added to the Voyage all season. Now I know! -
I've been on a real videogame OST kick while at work lately. After a few days of Sonic the Hedgehog 1 and 2, today is Mega Man 2! Currently: Air Man Stage

James Heselden owner and CEO of the Segway Corporation has died after accidentally riding his Segway off a 30 foot cliff. While it's sad that the accident occurred, the irony is absolutely delicious.

Think Your Job is Tough? Try doing it at 1,768ft!
Emiroo replied to Twister II's topic in Random, Random, Random
I wonder how long the climb took from bottom to top. The video starts at least halfway up if not higher. And the second guy at the top caught me by total surprise. I half expected him to reveal his chute and base jump as part of some elaborate prank. -
It's time for another installment of everyone's favorite game: We've got a tough one today folks. The beefy frame and hairy arms suggest man, but something about the hair and curvature of the breasts suggests woman. This one may be too close to call.

That's what she said... Seriously though, great TR. I especially liked all of the exterior approach shots. You rarely see those.
