  1. Coming from Mr. Blurry Photo that is some comment. AxMan - Keep it coming. SCBB is one park I'm trying to get to later this year so I appreciate the photos
  2. I've been a dozen times on weekends and the only day that was real busy was during Phoenix Phall Phunfest. Crowds should not be a concern this weekend, operations there are excellent and keep the lines moving even with only one train on Phoenix. Sundays are usually less crowded.
  3. ^ChunkyMike is so big that he makes everyone look puny.
  4. The only operating non-kiddie/family coasters I have ever skipped at a park are because I was running out of time at a park: Roller Soaker @ Carowinds ThunderRoad (Backwards) @ Carowinds American Eagle (Backwards) @ SFGAm Roller Soaker @ HersheyPark (which I have gone back and ridden) Exterminator at Kennywood (which I have gone back and ridden) There are plenty of kiddie coasters I have skipped (some of which I have ridden since) and plenty of adult coasters that just were not open when I was at the park.
  5. ^^^RotundMike - you make a lot of references to me in your posts. If you make 500 "Larry" references I will post pictures of the TPR ladies at Spanish waterparks. Shari - don't worry Sammi won't fit in a kiddie coaster car with Mike, but you should still charge him $2 for trying. BeemerBoy - even with your Miami allegiance, you may be the funniest person on the site that I have not met. Cool Rich -you don't have Elissa credits? even I got them.
  6. WOW, just curious how you spent the 3 hours between the time they agreed to send a check and the check actually being sent.
  7. ^sometimes kids just act out of control when they are placed in the Fun Tank
  8. Yes, I wear night gowns to distract people from seeing my bald spot. Why to you always wear a hat again?
  9. Sorry but this is a cop out and not entirely true. I have been to plenty of parks where a school trip or camp outing (or just a group of high schoolers) consisting of what appear to be middle class kids who left "unsupervised or under supervised" have no problems breaking the rules to suit their needs. Line cutting, screaming/cursing, food fights, etc... Granted I have also seen kids that appear to come from the opposite side of the tracks acting poorly. But I've also seen plenty of high schoolers enjoying themselves and not infringing on others. I also know of two teachers on this site who take a group of inner city kids to a park every year. Those students are supervised and know that if they step out of line there will be repercussions. So, I have no trouble with these trips if the students are supervised.
  10. It's not just school trips. Mob mentality sometimes takes over whenever you have more than 3 adolescents unsupervised.
  11. Wouldn't closing your eyes have the same effect?
  12. ^ and ^^ If you send in your deposit before the deadline you will be accepted on the trip, if all the spots have not already been filled. Those on 2006 and 2007 have priority if their deposits are in before the deadline. If more people apply for the trip than there are spots, new participants will be put into a lottery to determine who is accepted. Those not chosen in the lottery will be placed on a waiting list. If you send your deposit after the deadline and spots and still open you get one of the those spots. If you send your deposit after the deadline and the trip is filled, your name goes to the end of the waiting list
  13. and in the end, attendance is a useless figure if most of the attendance is season pass holders.
  14. Can anything beat Menudo at SFGAdv in the '80s?
  15. I think Matterhorn is the oldest steel "with tubular track"
  16. Of course B&M is Swiss - I'm an The only reason I don't think it odd with amusement parks is that enthusiasts know that change is coming once footings and markings are seen. Why don't the parks make the announcement right away? Probably becasue there are a lot of i's to be dotted and t's to be crossed.
  17. Been there, done that! I'm a dirty little whore! The hotel I stayed at was only 5 minutes away making the decision to go much easier. I spent more time talking to the nice lady at the gate than I did in the park. She used to really be into coasters 50 years ago, but not so much today.
  18. Elvis was stationed in Germany - that settles it. It must be B&M.
  19. They are increasing the size of the largest chocolate bars to 10 lbs.
  20. This construction is part of the project to keep the peninsula from sinking.
  21. This might be the must useless post ever on TPR. Congrats to you. Was that comment really necessary? Yes, I think it is necessary to point out to members when they make an unnecessary post. It is one thing to see something that exists and point out that it looks great. It is quite another to speculate how great something will look when it is complete. Commenting on how sketches and designs makes sense but saying an uncompleted rides will look great is USELESS. For the record, I'm looking forward to riding Ravine Flyer II but will not speculate on the greatness or look of the ride until I ride it.
  22. This might be the must useless post ever on TPR. Congrats to you.
