MASSIVE PTR: Visions of my Spain trip 2007
larrygator replied to RCFreak's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Hector - the unlocked gate at the zoo also confused the group I was with. We initially though we were going to have to circle back through the zoo the get out. I guess if we could read German we would have realized that the deer enclosure was a walk through petting zoo. -
Design the Robb and Elissa Alvey action figure!

How would these action figures look on the moon? -
^that is still true about SFGAdv, there is not a hotel within at least 15 minutes.

TPR Mini Trips - 2008
larrygator replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Jer - thank you for finally mentioning the Beaver Tails, I was starting to think they were a figment of my imagination. I actually really like the itinerary of this mini-trip. -
Don't expect to get all the credtis at WA. Has the park ever had all 9 coasters open on the same day? Then again, there are new owners. I went to both parks the first weekend in April and got each park done (coasters) in less than 2 1/2 hours

^^Are you planning on bringing a group with you or are you eloping. A good friend of mine got married at the MGM Grand Chapel and he got extra perks for filling a certain number of rooms. i.e.: Front of line entry into clubs with no cover charge and an upgrade into the honeymoon suite from his regular suite for one of the nights at no additional charge.

TPR Mini Trips - 2008
larrygator replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Oh man - you guys must be planning on the all you can eat pasta meal at Delgrosso's if you are going to be there on a Wednesday, aren't you? -
^Is it more crowded than the one in Madrid?
-
I hear you Paul. I did Kennywood and then Idlewild in the same day and couldn't get everything done at Idlewild. Then I went to Lakemont, DelGrosso's and Williams Grove the next day. I can read a map.

WDW goes wireless!
larrygator replied to Themeparkceo's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Scott - I think you are focusing on thepart whilethe devise helps you finds attractions.. However, many people don't use due diligence in planning before going to a park and I think these are the more useful features especially for families: You can find out wait times and Fastpass availability, find out what characters are in the park and where to find them, you can enter the attractions and shows they’d like to see and have the device organize their day -
Great America Renames Top Gun
larrygator replied to Behemoth230's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Yet if they changed those names to Thunderhawk and Flight Deck people with nothing better to do would complain even more. There have been: 49 coasters names Figure 8 42 named Cyclone 22 named Big Dipper Names will always be repeated. Although we still need a coaster named "Sasquatch". -
Just to be clear since Carnage writes in Canadian. Lakemont and DelGrosso's are very close to each either. Travelwise Idlewild is further away from the other two than it looks due to slow moving on the roads.

Worst New Addition for 2007
larrygator replied to coastermaniac's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
When is the last time Mickey Mouse starred in anything? Talk about dated! The only problem I have regarding Batman is that SF does not do more with the DC Comics licensing. Of all the SF parks I've been to it is the former SF park, Parque Warner in Madrid that at least had the rides involing DC cahracters in the same area and had a little variety in the rides and characters used, even including Lex Luthor. -
I've lived in New York all my life and I'd eat DelGrosso's pizza any day of the week, but I really did not enjoy Cesari's at Knoebels. One time I had a soup of cheese and sauce on top of 3/4 cooked dough at Cesari's. The other time it was too doughy for me. Overall, it was just no where near the typical pizza I eat.

and if possible go to DelGrosso's on a Wednesday for their All You Can Eat pasta meals. The food at DelGrosso's is incredible. The pizza at DelGrosso's is for superior to any amusement park and on par with the best pizza places in NYC. I bought 4 jars of their tomato sauce and was upset that I didn't buy more.

Everyone Enjoys Fatty Patch Jacket Robb, Right?
larrygator replied to Wes's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The whole patch jacket thing might have been 10 years ago, but it was never cool. Robb was not cool back then either. Collecting mementos is cool, displaying one's "dorkdom" for the world to see is not. -

Erik - how many Disney rides have you been e-vaced off besides CoP and Pooh? -
^^I accidentally shattered the CD case that contained my Elissa Bingo winnings last night. But not before copying "Dave's Death Metal" to iTunes and my iPod. But be proud Dave, I busted the case in true Dave Thomas fashion, falling down outside my apartment. This PTR, Elissa Bingo and the Bingo prizes rule.

Using CF Maxx Passes at KBF
larrygator replied to KGA29's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^Good to hear they could help you out. SFFT is a fun little park and will be quite empty the time you are traveling to Texas. My 1st visit to a SF park each of the past 3 years was not to SFGAdv, where I ordered the pass. Luckily I was able to obtain my physical pass before my trip started each year.
