  1. There needs to be a lot more seagull sh!t on the roof.
  2. We don't need another thread dedicated to baseless rumors. Use this thread
  3. Thank you, but please let the moderators moderate. The user has been warned for a final time about his posting style by the moderating team.
  4. Here's the thing. You are comparing four bad coasters. Even if Gwazi is better then the rest it is still bad. Vibrations lead to more serious issues in the future (like the beat downs you got on the other woodies mentioned), but the vibrations only also hinder the ride experience. I'm sure you noticed this by now, a 9 year old that likes one roller coaster tends to like them all. Bless their little bodies, they heal faster.
  5. Just people being stupidly unrealistic.
  6. I believe they did re-use the old Freeway paths for FastLane. I know the discussion about this is buried somewhere in the CP discussion thread.
  7. The old CP version was called "Freeway", similar in concept to current Disney system but without the technology Basically you could get two hand stamps (at most) per day, one on each wrist. The ink (more like paint) used was so heavy it was impossible to clean you wrist. CP set up booths outside the rides that offered Freeway and would stamp an one hour time slot on your wrist for that day. After stamping a set number of people for that one hour period they would switch to a stamp with a different time and continue this process until they stamped a specific number of people for each ride.
  8. For anyone planning a trip, be aware Totonnos is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays Just realized that I forgot to add something to this post. About 2 miles away from Coney Island's Luna Park is Roll N Roaster a Brooklyn institution for over 40 years serving up insanely good roast beef sandwiches.
  9. ^Nice to see a Sky Fly announced on the Holiday Park website. That's one flat that I have yet to ride.
  10. I'll add Houdini to that list, but I do agree with most of your thoughts.
  11. It's nice to hear they got it up and running sooner than the original projection.
  12. For anyone planning a trip, be aware Totonnos is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays
  13. Thanks to TPR (and a few side trips on my own) my current list is minimal: Lagoon Ferrari World Everland Lotte World
  14. Your post is not logical. You ask why they hired William Cobb and infer he couldn't make an exciting coaster. Then you say the coaster was great at one time. If the coaster was great at one time (which it was) than William Cobb is capable of building an exciting coaster.
  15. I never heard of Jollibee but it looks like there is one close to you in Woodside, Queens
  16. ^I still don't know how they fit in that car. Looks like Elissa will escape from the coaster.
  17. Probably SFGAdv, followed by SFNE and Knoebels all before the end of April/May. School trip to Lake Compounce in June.
  18. I know they would have more dark rides and fun attractions.
  19. I loved the one at DisneySea. 95% of the park watched it allowing Indiana Jones Adventure to be a walk-on for 30 minutes. As a side note, those that watched the show said they loved it.
  20. Does the Dippin Dots guy have a YouTube channel? Back to the foolishness of a potential winter event. I just don't see this happening at Great Adventure for a few reasons. 1 - Few of the rides would be able to operate in a comfortable manner in cold temperatures even if allowed by manufacturers 2 - Rides that could operate would be the least thrilling, which makes it less appealing to thrill seekers 3 - The are plenty of winter entertainment options in the area making a paid visit less appealing to families 4 - There are not enough indoor attractions 5 - Who is going to staff the event? However, if this was to happen on a limited basis I would not envision Golden Kingdom, Frontier Adventures or Plaza Del Carnival to even be accessible. The Boardwalk would limited to food and games. (Unless they can put a movie in the old 3D building). Movietown would consist of Batman: Dark Knight only, Although they could use the old (bubble) theater, if it wasn't cost prohibitive.
  21. What announcement? Where (specifically) did you here there will be an announcement?
  22. Another I'll believe it when I see it project. This news comes from a TV station out of Huntsville. I think the station did a great job in their "What we don't know section of the article" New Alabama Park Reports: Amusement park in the works for Shoals area Friday, January 30, 2015 7:45 pm by Breken Terry Rumor began circulating Friday about a possible theme park opening in Muscle Shoals that could bring thousands of jobs. The DreamVision Company plans to open a 1,400-acre theme park in Muscle Shoals, according to a press release sent out Friday morning. DreamVision Soundscape would be built at the same time as a second DreamVision park in Fort Worth, Texas. Where's the story? PointsMentioned Map 5 Points Mentioned An announcement is scheduled to take place Feb. 11 at the Marriott Shoals hotel in Florence, according to the release. The cost to build the Muscle Shoals park would be about $3.5 billion, and DreamVision said both parks are being privately funded. It sounds like a lot of investment, but most local officials WAAY 31 spoke with didn't know any more information outside of the news release that was sent out. The exception was state Rep. Lynn Greer. Greer said nothing is set in stone, but that DreamVision has been looking at Colbert and Lauderdale counties since the fall for possible locations. Greer said he could not give more details because of a confidentiality agreement. No city officials were notified of the big news either. Steve Holt, the Shoals Chamber of Commerce President says he doesn't see any red flags by not being notified by the company. "They might be approaching the community in an entirely different way than someone else would," said Holt. Holt says he started hearing rumors earlier this week. After he heard more news today he called the Fort Worth Texas Chamber of Commerce, which is another town DreamVision plans to build a theme park, to get the scoop. "They were well aware of the company, and had been working with them for I guess over two years. Of course from their perspective it's a confidential on going project," said Holt. If the theme park did go up it would create 20,000 jobs for the Shoals according to DreamVision, which might be tough to handle. "Our non agricultural work force is about 57,000," said Holt. Debbie Wilson, the Florence Lauderdale Tourism Director, was not contacted by the company either. Despite the fact that a theme park would be a huge tourism boost. "Usually if its a tourism project we are contacted," said Wilson. Wilson says with this being such a large scale project many factors would play into it like jobs. "In a project like that your talking about construction, engineering, maintenance. So I think that would be a challenge that our economic development people would be up for," said Wilson. While many in the Shoals are excited about the news some point out its best to be cautious with things like this because other proposed theme parks in the state have fallen through in the past. What we know: DreamVision's news release states the company wants to build a 1,400-acre theme park in the Muscle Shoals area. It would cost an estimated $3.5 billion and employ anywhere from 15,000-20,000 people. That's more jobs than the entire population of Muscle Shoals. State Rep. Lynn Greer of Lauderdale County confirmed DreamVision has been looking at the area for a theme park since last fall. He won't disclose more information, citing a confidentiality agreement. State Sen. Arthur Orr, a member of the state budget committee who is active in economic development for north Alabama, said "I have no knowledge of such a project coming to north Alabama. Usually large amusement parks are built in major metropolitan areas." Alabama Secretary of Commerce Greg Canfield said "There has been no contact made with Commerce relative to any discussions about this rumored project." DreamVision announced in August 2013 it was moving its corporate headquarters from Florida to Fort Worth, Texas. DreamVision still has an animation business in Clermont, Fla., that renewed its LLC status on Jan. 5. A representative with the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce said the company will announce its plans for a theme park in Fort Worth on Feb. 9, and has chosen a site in the area where it wants to build a park there. What we don't know: Why DreamVision is interested in Muscle Shoals as a location for a theme park. Where DreamVision's private funding is coming from. Why DreamVision released the information about what could be one of the biggest developments in north Alabama history to only one media outlet in Birmingham, the Birmingham Business Journal.
  23. As an engineer you must get a kick out of watching those chains and the swaying supports as the train goes through the turnaround.
  24. Do you know what a question is?
