  1. Great pics and TR! I enjoyed it! Makes me want to plan a FL trip ASAP
  2. UGH. I have to skip my VA trip this year for financial reasons...this is just making it worse It looks incredible though! I've been hearing that it's better than Millennium Force
  3. As much as I hate admitting this about one of my home parks, I agree with your posts. Hershey's crowds are getting exceedingly large, especially recently. It's one of the reasons why I've been avoiding going for the past two years or so. I don't mind crowds at parks (I'm used to it) but other circumstances, I totally avoid them. Hershey's crowds are getting too large. I was there yesterday for SITP as well...I waited 1+ hour to get a season pass. Now I'm kind of wondering if I should have. We were there at around 4-ish, maybe 5-ish and kept hearing reports that Great Bear's wait was around two hours (um, NO). I didn't even notice Comet's line because we didn't even bother going to that end of the park. We left and came back at around 7 and the crowds thinned out significantly.
  4. Ugh, I hate reading this thread anymore. Knowing BBW will be gone is so depressing. It comes at such a bad time...it's the end of the summer, parks will be closing...BBW is closing permanently...*sighs*. So sad. I'm going to miss it terribly; it's going to be so strange being there and not seeing it. I'm really trusting BG will be putting something phenomenal in it's place. Only something phenomenal will be worthy of BBW's former site.
  5. 1.) I collect Barbies. The fancy ones, the ones in the boxes. It's probably corny but I can guarantee they'll be worth something someday lol. They're my nest egg besides my 401k. 2.) I was in bandfront (a flag twirler) in the marching band all through high school. I can twirl and toss 6-foot flags. 3.) I love to eat soup and peanut butter sandwiches together. I've always thought this was a normal thing but apparantly most people I talk to think it's disgusting. 4.) I've never smoked a cigarette in my life, although I'll smoke cigars once in a blue moon. 5.) I was a big X-Files fan; I still have my X-Files "collection" that includes episode guides, posters, magazines, TV Guides, etc.
  6. My FAVORITE movie of all time is Gone With The Wind. I've always been in love with Clark Gable LOL. Some others... Spaceballs Three Amigos The Shining Friday the 13th Office Space Planes, Trains and Automobiles Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind The Aristocats anything with Shirley Temple
  7. I've been old-schooling it this week; I've been playing The Legend of Zelda on my Wii LOL. I swear, so many years of my life were wasted trying to kill darknuts. I'm also a World of Warcrack addict currently at 74 w/ my death knight.
  8. Lofthouse sugar cookies. You can get them at Wal-Mart or at most supermarkets. With a really tall glass of milk...MMMMMMMM.
  9. I had my first hospital experience last week, I was there for three days. Today I went for blood work at a clinic; the hospital said I could walk-in, no appointment was needed. The nurse at the clinic said not only is it appointment-only but they couldn't do it because they didn't have "orders" from the doctor (she proceeded to get cocky with me; I'm lucky my mom was there to calm me down cause I was ready to go off on her). Then I went to my regular doctor; she sent me to some sort of lab. My arm at this point...from taking so much blood @ the hospital...was bruised; I had to have this guy with missing front teeth and bad breath jam a needle into my almost-blue arm until he was finally able to find a vein. To top it off, I had to go back home because I forgot my insurance card. F M L.
  10. *LOVE* Skycoasters! I've only been on one (Darien Lake, about 180 feet if I remember correctly) and IMO, it's worth the money, for the most part. It's definitely a unique experience unlike a ride on a rollercoaster. You'll be screaming your head off If I also remember correctly, after you fall, you fly past the arch and can unlock your arms with your partner (if you're riding with someone that is). I honestly don't even remember doing this or any kind of instructions for that matter because I was so scared. I don't know what kind of significance it holds but try to keep a sense of calm during the ride because you completely loose it the minute they start to raise you up.
  11. Some people like KD better than BGW, other like BGW better than KD. Different people have different opinions. Bottom line.
  12. I haven't had a chance to comment on this until now... For me, this is really, really sad. This is right up there with the removal of High Speed Thrill Coaster @ Knoebels. I feel like my right arm is being removed It's kind of weird because the last time I was there, I was contemplating on buying a stuffed howling wolf @ Wolf Gifts. We kept passing it and I kept thinking, "WTF am I gonna do with a stuffed wolf????" Finally I thought, "What the heck" and bought one. I'm glad I did now; I don't really have any other wolfie souvenirs. I trust Busch Gardens enough to [*hopefully*] replace it with something really good (I try not to think of DarKastle in this case). But nonetheless, IMO, it's a big, big loss and I'm going to miss it terribly. I really hope BG knows what they're doing.
  13. Mine's Busch Gardens; we're leaving tomorrow for 4 nights. CAN'T WAIT!! It's a yearly trip for us; we really look forward to it because it's a nice escape in the summer.
  14. Coming from someone whose home park is Knoebels, I highly reccomend that park. If you're a rollercoaster enthusiast you will not be disappointed in Knoebels Parks like that one are few and far between. Kennywood is a good choice too; it depends on what end of the state you're going to be in. Kennywood and Knoebels are on nearly opposite ends of the state.
  15. I must be going nuts; this is the first time I've heard of this news and I must say, it's AWESOME!! Must. Visit. In 2010.
  16. Without a doubt, the guys at the bumper cars in Knoebels. I find them hilarious; I'm sure they can't say the same LOL. Anyone who knows what I'm talking about will know that these guys (or guy, never sure if it's the same one...sometimes i swear it is) are hilarious. All's you have to do are two things; either go the wrong way or get out of your car while it's still moving -- they'll flip out LOL. The one time a kid started going the wrong way. I wasn't sure if it was intentional but the ride op got really mad and stopped the cars and yelled, "HEY!!" It was just too funny; I could not stop laughing lol.
  17. I'm leaving on Tuesday for BGE; CANNOT wait!! Me personally, I reccomend bringing extra money if you plan on eating in the park because the prices for their food can be a little steep (but their food is excellent!). If you're looking to buy some souvenirs, I would reccomend bringing extra money for that too because they have some nice souvenirs Drink LOTS of water because it tends to get hot/humid and you may be doing more strenuous walking; the park can be a bit hilly in spots. As Eddie said, I think they do a good job loading/unloading too; I've never had to wait that long for any of the rides (maybe a little longer for Griffon). Also as Eddie said, make sure you hit Festhaus I also personally reccomend the shows they have...the only ones I've seen are Pet Shenanigans (HILARIOUS) and the show @ Wolf Valley, they're great. Have fun
  18. I remember coming across a few weird ride ops in GADV, who either wouldn't check the restraints or would just "tap" them when they'd check them. I love that.
  19. The few rides that freak me out a little - any kind of Power Surge. That and the Sateillite (formally the Salt & Pepper Shakers) @ Knoebels. That thing is just insane lol. And, as much as I hate to admit it, it still freaks me out a little to cable snap on the Flyers there. Rides that freak me out more are any kind of Skycoasters. I begged my friend to go on with me the first time I rode one but I was scared sh*tless once we started lifting up. I want to go on another but I will be shaking pretty bad in my boots LOL. Another ride I was pretty scared to go on was Big Drop @ Vegas. I was OK until we got off of the second elevator ride to the top...I saw helicopters BELOW us. That was pretty freaky lol. I was also pretty scared on Alien Encounter at Disney (dunno if it's still there). I was younger then and it was before my extreme riding days but I thought the ride itself was scary!
  20. If you're looking for a better atmosphere, I personally reccomend Hershey...plus, you can't beat the chocolate But as Canobie said, their lines can be quite long at times; the park itself can get pretty crowded. Also, I'm also personally think they could have a better selection of flat rides. They've removed some great classics over the years. Dorney isn't bad either; their crowds tend to be more tolerable. It's really on personal preference.
  21. Cesari's is certainly the best park pizza I've had but not the best pizza I've had in general. The one thing bugs me about their pizza is that it tastes different everytime we get it lol. Some days, the crust seems to be really crispy and brown...other days it's not. Some days they seem to put more sauce on it, some days they hardly put any cheese. I like consistant taste with my pizza LOL. Overall though Knoebels has great food. Like ctriceman said, their bison burgers are really good and the international food court has some good stuff. The Oasis has good food; they feature different kinds of dinners each night. Their funnell cakes are to die for. And my personal favorite...tri-tators; 3 for a buck \m/
  22. Griffon was my first and only dive coaster; I thought it was fairly intense. Granted I've been on crazier and bigger rides but when you're in the front row and you're just hanging on the top of the first hill, waiting to drop...it's pretty exciting but it's more aggravating LOL. I think too it depends on the ride; some can be more intense than others. I absolutely love Griffon and not just for the first drop; it's a great ride in general.
  23. I've only been to Knoebel's so far. But I'm going to Busch Gardens Williamsburg in a few weeks (WOOT) and I'm sure I'll be hitting Hershey and Dorney at least once. I really want to go to GADV but I have to see how much money I have leftover from BG. The tolls are getting expensive
  24. The first summer Millennium Force was open, I remember when the line queue was totally full and extending out of the entrance. We waited...it must have been at least 2 hours; I'm sure it was more. I wasn't keeping track at the time. It was worth it though. I've waited pretty long for Kingda Ka too. I don't like long lines at all now, I have no patience for them lol.
  25. Sweet Jesus There's no way I could not go on that if I got the chance; it would be incredible. I will say this...I would loose my voice for days from all the blood-curdling screaming I'd be doing.
