  1. The best fast-food burger I've had was at In 'N Out Burger; I desprately miss that place. I wish there were some on the east coast I also have an addiction to McDonald's Shamrock Shakes and breakfast sandwiches. I very rarely eat fast food though, so it's been a while since I've had any of this.
  2. Just saw Transsiberian...it was really good! It's a suspense/thriller based around a married couple who travel across Russia on the Transsiberian and get [unknowingly] involved in some shady goings-on. Woody Harrleson is in it, although I wasn't too particuarly fond of his character. Definitely reccomend it.[/u]
  3. Great pics, thanks for posting! Love the shots of El Toro...too bad Nitro wasn't open...
  4. Haha, OK scratch my previous picks...looks like I'll be riding sooper dooper looper first "My" season doesn't officially start until opening day of Knoebels, the 25th lol.
  5. Springtime in the Park at Hersey, next Friday! Depending on what will be open, I'll most likely be on either Farenheit or Storm Runner first (preferably Storm Runner). If neither are open, probably Lightning Racer. Thank God winter is over.
  6. Oh if only I were a kid again .. great pics, thanks for posting! It looks great; I'm really looking forward to my Busch Gardens trip this year. The whole Castle 'O Sullivan thing is confusing theming though...putting a Sesame Street attraction in a castle? Oh well. It'll still be fun to check out.
  7. That's a tough question...I don't think I can post a favorite coaster that has airtime! Below are some of my favorites... Phoenix (no seat belts baby!!) Nitro (I think this coaster has awesome airtime) Apollo's Chariot Millennium Force And for the record, I thought Viper @ GADV had the best hang time I've ever experienced on a coaster.
  8. 1.) Viper @ Great Adventure - I love the fact that I can say I was on it, just to say I was on it...but the expeirence was quite painful. I remember the shoulder restraints pushing down really hard on the bony part of my shoulder. Ay yi yi. 2.) Manhatten Express - Loved the location/scenery but it was an absolutely terrible ride. 3.) Mean Streak @ Cedar Point - Awful. 4.) Predator @ Darien Lake - Painful. 5.) I think I'm probably in the minority on this one...but I have to include Wildcat @ Hershey. I've never enjoyed this ride with the exception of the first drop and I don't feel the new trains made any difference.
  9. I'll have to go with the Phoenix's pre-lift. I love how the fact the tunnel is just pitch-black
  10. Wow, really? I tried it but they were so gung-ho about it, about that and the restraints. They pushed the lap bar down to the point where we (as in everyone in the car) couldn't bend our knees Of all my years of going to Knoebel's, I never got the sense that they were really, really an*l about restraints like some parks are (i.e. I think the fact that the Phoenix has just a lap bar and nothing else is a rarity, giving how much air-time you get on it)...yet for some reason, they were so an*l about Wipeout. It just struck me as odd and un-Knoebels-like. Sorry for the vent. It's been bothering me since Friday LOL. I think if I was younger, The Looper wouldn't have affected me like it did. Not only did it make me really dizzy but my arms are (still) really sore lol. Kind of made me feel old
  11. Ahh, I love summer. Summer = Knoebles Did you go on The Looper? It's one of the most bizarre rides I've been on. I was there on Friday and I rode it for the first time. It was SO much fun but I got so dizzy lol. Wipeout is fun but they don't allow single riders (the only other one I've ridden was Rodeo in Hershey but I don't seem to recall them doing that, maybe it's me). That kind of bothered me because the seats are barely comfortable for two people the way it is. I guess that's half the fun but the ride, to me, seems to spin fairly fast...my brother sat on the end and on each turn I would really slam into him. I mean really slam! I was getting worried that he'd break a freakin rib or something lol.
  12. That ring dispenser is a buggar, just for the record..! I've jammed and bruised and scratched my hand off that thing so many times. Took me years to finally master it. It always made me wonder why there are hardly any remaining...
  13. I half-agree. I love Hershey...it's one of my home parks, they have great staff and great rides (and some of the cleanest restrooms around!) but I think it's been poorly managed the past few years, especially concerning ride ops and loading times. The park itself is getting cramped; I haven't been there yet this year but the few times I did go, I thought the crowds were horrendous. I'm also still a bit bitter about the removal of a few classic rides (they remove the Giant Wheel and Cyclops AND the Conestoga Wagon, but they keep Rodeo??). None of this will keep me from going, though. Well, if the monorail was removed, it might lol.
  14. Ahhh...brass rings... I've been going to Knoebel's my whole life and I just caught the brass ring for the first time about 2-3 years ago. In fact, I still have the free ride ticket I wish there were more brass ring carousels. It's an absolute classic.
  15. I'm not a big fan of carnival/fair rides in general. But I have had that happen to me on rides in major parks, including rollercoasters. There is a reason for it...and I can't think of it at the moment...but it does happen. For the record, Power Surge is one of the few rides that still manage to freak me out when I'm on it lol.
  16. I didn't even notice those empty footers... NINCUB, check out their website, www.knoebels.com. It's a great park, it's in the middle of nowhere underneath all these trees. If you look at the picture of the Phoenix, you can see trees growing around it. They haven't cleaned the pool out yet for the summer
  17. Glad to hear you overcame your fear That looks like a great coaster. My first was a Vekoma as well. It sticks in my mind...they're hard to forget
  18. I work for Hilton Reservations, I'm an assistant manager. I sit in a cubicle all day long and type on computers. The movie Office Space is sort of an exaggerated version of my job lol. Honestly, I love what I do, I plan on staying in the hospitality industry and work on my degree. I deal with difficult people (co-workers AND customers) but the pros outweigh the cons. I get free hotel rooms, which is a huge pro. I stay in New York City for free all the time...that's definitely one of the pros
  19. Good pictures, they look familiar iceman It was a beautiful day, it was definitely more crowded than I thought it would be. There were lines for most of the rides. I was on Super Roundup for the first time in a while...that's one heck of a ride, lol. I almost forgot how dizzy it gets me. I really hope Flying Turns opens soon. It's just kind of sitting there, not doing a heck of a whole lot.
  20. Hello everyone! My name is Stef, I've known about this site myself but just signed up for an account today. I live in northeast Pennsylvania and I'm REALLY happy winter is over and summer is coming!! I'm at Knoebels quite a lot during the summer and will be heading to Busch Gardens in June (I was there for the first time about 2 years ago, it was FANTASTIC!). I love the summers in PA but I hate the winters. I lived in Arizona for a short time so I really love warm weather I love to travel but I don't get to do it as often as I'd like. I like to read and write and cook. I'm working on my associate's degree. I work for Hilton. And I think that's about it
