  1. I've always encountered crummy operators at Batman as well. A few years ago I was at the top of the stairs and was first. Since they assign rows starting at the front, I was about to be assigned the front row, which I was looking forward to. Unfortunately, the group behind me suggested to the operator that I (a single rider) should wait to fill an empty seat from a group of 3. The operator agreed and I actually ended up having to wait an extra cycle since the train filled up from groups of 2 and 4. Thankfully I haven't seen that employee there again. I'm glad they give you the option to wait for the front row now though since the Batman operators were constantly asked by people if they could wait for the front row. It's sad to here that one of them wasn't abiding by the new policy though. Hopefully that gets straightened out. Goliath's operators are awesome. The line always moves faster than what the posted signs say unless the ride breaks down.
  2. 1) Hyper-Coaster I love the huge drops and the sustained air they produce. The three B&M hypers that I've been on Apollo's Chariot (2), Behemoth (3), and Nitro (6) are all in my top 6 for steel coasters. 2) Dive Coaster I've only been on Griffon, but if that ride is any indication I'm a major fan of the dive coasters. The first drop is absolutely breathtaking. 3) Inverted Coaster These are the most forceful of B&M's coasters in my opinion. I prefer the drops found on their hypers and dive coasters, but after that inverts are my next favorite. Some of my favorites are Dragon Challenge, Talon, Alpengeist, and Great Bear. 4) Sit-Down Coaster It seems B&M sit-downs were one of their earlier designs and because of this, they are more forceful than a lot of their newer coasters. The Incredible Hulk Coaster is a perfect example of this. 5) Flying Coaster I've only been on SFGAdv's Superman, but I really enjoyed it! The restraints were extremely comfortable and the sensation of flying was cool. I just wish the layout was more inspired, but that pretzel loop was incredibly intense. 6) Floorless Coaster While they're good coasters, I haven't been on any floorless coasters that I would truly classify as great. My personal favorite is Dominator. 7) Stand-Up Coaster I didn't like Green Lantern or Apocalypse. Both were pretty rough and not enjoyable for me. Honestly, I prefer the Togo stand-ups that I've been on to the B&M ones that I have been on.
  3. I have to go with Orlando's Revenge of the Mummy. The dark ride section is really well done and the coaster part is surprisingly thrilling with some major ejector air and a powerful launch. An honorable mention for me is Verbolten.
  4. Six Flags New England's Cyclone is at the top of my list. First, Six Flags has been giving the treatment to some of its older wooden roller coasters lately. Back when it opened, the Cyclone was considered one of the country's best coasters thanks to its ferocity and killer ejector air time and the Rocky Mountain Treatment would restore that. Second, Six Flags New England appears to be running out of room for a major new coaster. If they were to overhaul Cyclone, they would be able to market it as a new attraction and get a great compliment to Bizarro.
  5. I haven't gotten to try a wing rider yet and they look really cool, so I would like to try Gate Keeper. Plus that first inversion looks sick.
  6. I would recommend hitting Knoebels, Dorney, Hersheypark, and Kennywood. None of those parks have really bad waits which is good, though Fahrenheit can get a really long line due to its low capacity. In Pittsburgh, I recommend hitting Quaker Steak on a Tuesday night for all-you-can-eat wing night if possible.
  7. Six Flags America's Mind Eraser gets it for me. The anticipation of the imminent pain is a killer.
  8. Last summer I went to Dorney Park. The forecast called for thunderstorms later in the night, but I hoped that I could hit the coasters before it arrived since I hadn't been there since 05. Well after riding Talon twice, I decided I wanted one more ride. Unfortunately our train got stuck at the top of the lift hill since the ride powered down. Meanwhile, the thunderstorm was approaching and all of the other attractions shut down. We ended up having to evacuate and walk down the hill in very windy conditions. But kudos to the park staff for keeping everyone calm and evacuating the ride quickly and safely.
  9. I rode Kings Dominion's Windseeker last summer and really enjoyed it. I rode it at night and the views of the park with the lights on were astounding. Plus the height was quite the thrill. When I rode the Sky Screamer at Great Adventure and Flight at Martin's Fantasy Island, I didn't really enjoy them too much. The added height made a huge difference in my opinion, so hopefully Mondial can help these attractions run smoothly. Though I have to ask- after what happened do you think another park will install a Windseeker?
  10. I always thought it would be Iron Wolf, but since it was relocated I don't see Apocalypse becoming defunct any time soon. I would have to think that it would be one of their old stand-up coasters since they are not as well liked or popular as their other coasters.
  11. For me, it will most likely be Goliath or Bizarro at Six Flags New England.
  12. The park should be decently crowded from opening until 5. Most rides will have decent lines, but it's not unmanageable. Bizarro, Batman, and Goliath will all be around 30-45 minutes. However, after 5 the park gets far more crowded and lines could approach 1.5-2 hours if the weather is nice.
  13. I'd love it if the park added a KMG Tango! Hopefully the park's announcement doesn't disappoint.
  14. The Wildcat's bunny hills look like they should have air, but they never have which is a shame. In my last visit, the Wildcat was pretty bumpy. However, earlier in the 2000s, the Wildcat was very smooth throughout; it just wasn't all that exciting since there wasn't any air or good speed. So even with a rehab to smooth out the ride, I'm not quite sure how much better it will get.
  15. While the Roller Soaker was really unique, I have only been able to ride it twice in 6 visits to Hershey and honestly won't miss it that much. It's capacity was terrible and I was only able to ride it towards the very end of the day when the line didn't have that many people left in it. Yet even with just 100 people ahead of me, the line took almost a half hour each time. Also, the ride broke down a lot and I also got stuck on it a few years ago. Hopefully Hershey can use the space to add another water slide tower since the Boardwalk has been very crowded and popular since it opened.
  16. 1) Batwing 2) Batman the Ride (Six Flags Great Adventure) 3) Batman: Dark Knight 4) Dark Knight (Six Flags Great Adventure) Six Flags America was pretty disappointing for me, especially since Superman was closed all day, but Batwing was a lot better than I expected. The restraints were snug, but they weren't uncomfortable. And the forces during the ride were incredible! I especially loved the switch over to the flying position followed by the first drop. In my most recent visit to Six Flags Great Adventure, Batman the Ride was a disappointment. Not only was the capacity terrible (one train with only the front half open), but there was a lot of headbanging during the second half of the ride. I'm hoping I just caught the ride on a bad day since it was amazing three years ago when I first rode it. Of all the Batmans, I've definitely been on SFNE's version the most. As others have mentioned, the zero-G roll is easily the ride's best element and one of the best around. However, the ride is pretty short and not as intense as the other two Batmans above it in my opinion. Lastly, the Dark Knight is my favorite wild mouse and a pretty fun coaster, but it doesn't hold a candle to its bigger Batman brothers.
  17. I was there last Thursday and didn't have any lines at all. Unfortunately, Superman was down for the 3 hours I was there, but Wild One, Batwing, and Joker's Jinx are all very fun.
  18. Are there any discounts for Coney Island's Luna Park, Scream Zone, and the Cyclone? I was browsing the web and only found an expired Groupon offer. It seems like there aren't any, but I was just checking my bases.
  19. When I went to Six Flags New England with my school a few weekends ago, I decided to go on the Tea Cups with my friend. While we were waiting for the ride, he commented that it looked kind of boring (the people on the ride weren't spinning the center hub). I jokingly said that I bet I could make him puke. He instantly said he challenged me. During the ride, I got the cup spinning super fast (the cups spin extremely well at SFNE ). Once we got off, he couldn't walk straight and went straight to a trash bucket. I won
  20. Next year I will definitely be visiting both Canobie Lake Park and Six Flags New England. Additionally, at some point I will go on a coaster road trip, but I have no clue where I'll be going yet. I hope I can end up going down to Hershey, Six Flags Great Adventure, Busch Gardens, and Kings Dominion.
  21. With Six Flags New England being so close to me, I used to go a lot more. Now I only go once or twice per year. When I first went, it was easily one of the best parks that I've been to. However, over time it's gone down to just a good park for me since I've had a mix of awesome days (my first visit and Bizarro Bash being two of them) and not so awesome days. Some of the things I'm not overly fond of are the aforementioned layout, food, single rider policies (at times), and some rude employees.
  22. Does anyone have any pictures or videos of Funtown's old Hydrofighter attraction? Unfortunately, I never had the opportunity to visit the park before the one of a kind attraction was removed in 2000 to make way for Dragon's Descent. The only photo I've found of this unique swinging/spinning water battle attraction was on Canobie Fan (http://s7.invisionfree.com/CanobieFans/index.php?showtopic=577). Additionally, I remember there being an excellent photo of it in an old ACE Newsletter, but I have misplaced it somewhere in my room.
  23. I've been going to Funtown for years. Excalibur has an absolutely incredible first half with four major moments of ejector air; however, the second half is really boring in my opinion. Also, the ride can be kind of rough if you ride it on the wrong day.
  24. I wouldn't really call it copying SFMM. If a model is successful and popular, parks have a right to install it for themselves.
