I love B&Ms because of their rerideability. I could marathon most B&Ms all day. They're usually glass smooth and have great layouts. The only exceptions for me are SFGAdv's Bizarro (I find that ride pretty rough) and the stand-ups. I especially love their hyper coasters. While most of their hyper coasters may have similar layouts as opposed to Intamin's which often have more variety, I'm a sucker for the constant stream of air-time hills. After Skyrush, Apollo's Chariot, Behemoth, and Nitro are 2, 3, and 4 for me on my top steel coaster list.

This one is pretty dope. Source Source Do people ever hit the top of the tube on that second hill? -

I usually find the final leg lacking on the air-time, but the first two third of the ride has some outstanding air-time and I love that first drop in the back. -
I've only been on three of these types of slides: Crush 'n' Gusher, Niagara River Run (Great Wolf Lodge Canada), and Typhoon (Six Flags New England). I loved how Crush 'n' Gusher used the water jets as propulsion. It was so much faster and thrilling. Meanwhile, the other two used conveyor belts and the uphill portions honestly didn't do much for me other than setting up the next drop, as they seemed a bit slow in my opinion.

You're brain will thank you for some of them haha. I love their Giant Inverted Boomerangs and half of their regular boomerangs. The intensity on these things are awesome. Some of them are unfortunately needlessly rough, but here are my firsts for the Vekomas: Boomerang: Zoomerang (Lake Compounce) Giant Inverted Boomerang: Goliath (Six Flags New England) Roller Skater: Barnstormer (Magic Kingdom) SLC: Mind Eraser (Six Flags New England) Suspended Family Coaster: Silver Streak (Canada's Wonderland)

Most Intense Waterslide Type???

Summit Plummet is my favorite body slide. I got a really good freefall sensation on that slide and the height was really thrilling. I've been on one trap door slide (Great Escape's Cliff Hanger) and found the slide a very and scary experience. While I didn't get a true freefall sensation in my stomach, the anticipation before the drop made up for it in my opinion. Just imagine if they made one of those trap door slides and added them to one of those hump speed slides like Slush Gusher! -

I can attest to Wooden Warrior's awesomeness. That is why I'm so excited for Story Land's new coaster. -
Lake Compounce Discussion Thread

I was there Friday, October 18. Once I got to the park around 7, I immediately went on Boulder Dash. The line was just before the station, but it took a little under a half hour due to a one train operation. By the time I got off, the line was stretched almost to the ride's sign. After doing the Haunted Graveyard walkthrough, which was amazing I might add, I wanted another ride on Boulder Dash. It was around 9 pm and the park was running two trains. Trains were being dispatched as soon as the previous train hit the brake run; however, the lift hill did seem noticeably slower than it usually is. -
I care more about a great experience rather than a record-breaking ride. Kingda Ka may be the world's tallest coaster and one heck of a thrill, but I prefer the smaller and highly themed Revenge of the Mummy to it. Both rides are fantastic and have their merits. Some parks want that record. Six Flags Great Adventure does a great job promoting Kingda Ka's records and it's a major draw for the park. Meanwhile, Kingda Ka wouldn't really fit in with Universal and the Mummy coaster is a highly enjoyable and very marketable attraction for them.

Knoebels Discussion Thread

Even if the line slows down to allow a guest with a disability aboard, I'm sure most guests will understand. That's the general consensus that I've seen when I'm waiting for a coaster and someone has to wait an extra cycle or two due to a guest with a disability coming in the exit and taking their seat. -
Vekoma Boomerang! A first?
Canobie Coaster replied to GrapesLie's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Last week when I was at Lake Compounce, I heard quite a few people mention that they liked Zoomerang more than Boulder Dash. It's unthinkable for most coaster enthusiasts to have this opinion, but it just shows how popular these coasters are with the general public and why parks install them. I really like the boomerangs at Lake Compounce, the Great Escape, and Darien Lake. I've found that those 3 give smooth rides and really allow me to enjoy the coaster's intensity without worrying for my skull. I'm not fond of the ones at Canada's Wonderland, Six Flags New England, or Hersheypark though. The first two are due to headbanging and the latter is due to the new vest restraints. It just seemed really tight and uncomfortable during the lift. -
Highlights of Your Season?
Canobie Coaster replied to 2012jarrett's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Best Moment- For me, it was riding Boulder Dash for the first time at night last weekend. I had been on the coaster nearly a hundred times, but all during the day. During Lake Compounce's Haunted Graveyard event I finally had the opportunity to ride Boulder Dash at night and was blown away by the sense of speed. Funniest Moment- I went to the Haunted Graveyard with a few friends and the final on-ride photo that we took was hysterical! Two of us looked stunned, one of us had a thinking pose, and I juggled a kleenex and it looked like I was spitting an egg out of my mouth. Scariest Moment- It was waiting for the floor to drop out on the Great Escape's Cliffhanger trap door water slide. It was my first time on that type of water slide and it was really suspenseful. I ended up loving it! Favorite Park Visit- Haunted Graveyard visit to Lake Compounce Best Non-Coaster Related Thing to Happen at a Park- Haunted Graveyard Best Thing to Happen at a Park Trip Outside of the Park- After visiting the Great Escape, I went to Around the World Mini Golf in the Lake George Village and was amazed by the creativity and uniqueness of the course. Favorite New Experience- Boulder Dash at night -
What is the best floorless?
Canobie Coaster replied to ddaver177's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The more I ride the coaster, the more I like it. It's definitely not forceless (for a floorless coaster) it has a great zero g roll and the corkscrews at the end are a very good, intense finish. Personally I love this ride, but it's smaller and shorter than the others which is probably why it's ranked behind them. It's a very good ride and I'm sure you'll enjoy it. I agree it's a really fun ride! I actually prefer it to Great Adventure's Bizarro thanks to its intensity. Though my favorite floorless is Hydra. I know the ride isn't the most popular, but I really enjoy its quirky layout. I love the hang-time in both the jojo roll and the zero-G roll and I find the first drop and the drop into the final corkscrew quite intense and heavy on air-time in the back seat. -

Whoa! This and the other rare shuttle coaster posted on the site this week really look interesting. While they look slightly scary, I would definitely give them a try. -

Vekoma Roller Coasters
Canobie Coaster replied to kingdakacor's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I really like Expedition Everest and if they use that track style on most of their new coasters, they should be really rerideable. The Boomerangs I've been on have been mixed bags. I love their first drops and they are some of the most intense coasters I've been on. I find the ones at the Great Escape and Darien Lake to be glass smooth and very enjoyable coasters. Meanwhile, the ones at Canada's Wonderland and Six Flags New England are really rough. The SLCs I've been on have mostly been awful. Six Flags New England's Mind Eraser is usually bad, but I have been able to get some decent rides on it. -
Kennywood (KW) Discussion Thread
Canobie Coaster replied to DenDen's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Agreed! But didn't their licensing agreement with Garfield expired? I really much rather see Kennywood retheme bring back the "Old Mill" and give Garfield the boot! Anything would be better than Garfield. I never got a chance to experience the Old Mill and was really depressed to see how random and poorly done Garfield was. Something like Playland's Ye Old Mill would be a much better fit for Kennywood. -
Canada's Wonderland Discussion Thread
Canobie Coaster replied to BDG's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Especially considering how many people Canada's Wonderland gets annually, this could have some of the longest lines in the park. Hopefully the ride is done right so it's worth waiting for. -
I really like this addition. I loved Windseeker at Kings Dominion thanks to its sheer height and the size of this should really make it special. I really hope they renovate Cyclone in the near future as well to give the North End a complete revamp since the park's traffic seems to go towards the DC area and the South End where Batman and the water park are. The New England Sky Screamer is a great step towards making the North End more attractive to guests.

Funniest Ride Experiences
Canobie Coaster replied to Coasters 4 ever's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Two weeks ago at Lake Compounce, I went with 3 of my friends. They aren't major park-goers, but thought it would be a fun day out. Before we got to the park, we went to Burger King. I had a chicken sandwich, but the rest of my friends really pigged out (2-3 burgers per person plus fries and a drink). Flash forward to Lake Compounce. They had never been there so we pulled into the lot, I mentioned how two of the park's rides are built on the mountain (Boulder Dash and the Sky Ride). After riding Ghost Hunt, we were near Boulder Dash's entrance and they mentioned they wanted to go on the "mountain ride." I assumed they meant Boulder Dash so I was more than willing since it's my favorite coaster anywhere after the Coney Island Cyclone and Skyrush. Well it turns out they wanted to go on the Sky Ride since they were still digesting their food from lunch. I thoroughly enjoyed my ride (partially since I have an iron stomach), but my two of my friends were genuinely afraid they were going to upchuck their lunch. They also were a bit nervous with how fast Boulder Dash was since it was a wooden coaster and nicknamed it the Supersonic WTF Coaster haha.
