I don't think it's fair to compare Max Air and Revolution. Revolution isn't as tall, but it definitely spins faster and is very forceful. Max Air is tall, but that's all it really has going for it. It doesn't spin that fast. Just depends if you're into big and forceless, or small and forceful.

I was at the commercial shoot last night too (and I am keeping my igNight glow-stick as a souvenir!) And I can honestly say that I'm very impressed with the show. My friends and I signed up for the show and were very skeptical at how fun it would be, but it turned out great! The white boards look very bad during the day, but at night, it looks really good and I'm sure people will go crazy to see the show. Sorry Luminosity

I would agree with you, but you probably sat in the wrong seat. The only seats I managed to get to go upside down were the outside seats in the 2nd and 4th rows. All the others, you can try, but it's not fast enough to go upside down. In the 2nd row, I managed to get flipped repeatedly until the ride slowed down (my arms were sore, it's hard to keep spinning once you get it going!)

Just wanted to give my opinion of Hades 360 (I rode it yesterday). Rode Hades as soon as we got to the park in the front row, and it's a great ride in the front. Still hurts a lot, rough in every spot. It's a shame to say that it's rough even in the inversion and 110 degree banked turn. The whole ride is still rough even with the retracked sections. It started to rain while we were there but they kept the ride running. The line died down and rode again in the back row, huge mistake. It's 10 times rougher in the last row, and even with the better airtime, it's not worth the pain. Hades is definitely a front row ride. I'd also like to say that Zeus is running great this year. They retracked parts of Cyclops as well, and still has the crazy ejector airtime. But overall, I'm glad they did the inversion on Hades. It's not like Mount Olympus would have added something else if they didn't do it.

Went to SFGAm today and the crowds were pretty light. The new entrance was working well, work is still being done on East River Crawler. X-Flight is only running one train but at least Batman has 2 running. Yankee Clipper is also open for the season! Both sides and both trains on Eagle were running and the brakes were off after the helix so the final airtime hills are amazing. Even the brakes on the last helix were off and you fly through them.

The last day to ride Batman Backwards is July 7th! And American Eagle will run backwards this fall! Confirmed on their twitter. And also Viper Backwards! Wow! Who would have known! I can't get the Youtube tags to work, but here is a video. Source:

I rode the one at Canobie on the North East trip in 2011, and it was a nice ride! While it's not thrilling, it has a long ride cycle and it's in the shade

Six Flags Great America premiered their 'new' ride this morning... BATMAN The Ride Backwards. It's not exactly a 'new' ride, but it is a new experience! A nice twist to a classic ride at the park. You still get that crazy, intense, TWISTY Batman that everyone has always loved, but backwards! It debuted at opening weekend (May 4th) to very positive reviews from the public. People enjoyed the ride a lot and the queue filled up very fast. It's only on one train operation at the moment and Great America is working hard on getting the second train running as soon as they can! Everyone must plan their visits as quick as possible. This ride is only backwards for a limited time. Nathan, Tom, and I came to event to try the ride out for ourselves. The ride itself is really bizarre backwards. For the conversion of the train, they had to remove a row to have room in the station for a zero-car. You start out the ride going backwards up the lift hill. No matter what row you sit in, dropping from the first drop into that loop makes you disoriented. Most of you are accustomed to riding backwards normally, but that floater airtime you get in the zero-g is amazing. Going through the second half of the layout with all of the low to the ground elements adds to the thrill. You might think you know the layout going forwards, but you're always second guessing yourself is the helix is coming up, or the other corkscrew? You just never know (or you're too disoriented to remember). And because your back isn't pressed against the seats, the ride is a lot smoother than it use to be, even if it was smooth before. Many people at the event were riding Backwards Batman over and over again, so it is very re-rideable. As for my own opinion on the ride, I think it is a great idea to change up a ride like Batman after getting the major addition of X-Flight last year. Batman opened as the first inverting looping roller coaster and has been cloned all throughout the world. Reversing the trains separates this ride from all the others. And lastly, I'd like to thank Six Flags Great America for being very helpful and for hosting a great event! I'm sure Backwards Batman will be a hit! Check out a POV of Batman the Ride Backwards! Here's the first train of happy riders. !pooL It's worth riding for the floater air given by the zer-g roll. Back row is now the front row! Hard to get reaction faces of riders. This is what the car looks like during the day. But at night, it's totally transformed. Better fog was placed in the Bat Cave. People never see this one coming! These Batman cookies and cupcakes were attracting quite the crowd. There was a Batman impostor trying to cause a ruckus in Gotham, but the real Batman stopped him immediately. Like I said earlier, it's only for a limited time! It will be running backwards by at least July 6th, but I'm not sure about anytime after that. Meeting the man of the hour. Many camera crews were dying to get an interview with the famous Nathan. The drop heading into the the next loop. Anyone heading to the park this weekend for opening weekend? It's gonna be the same weather as it has always been (cloudy and chance of rain) and I think a few rides will be closed. But it's been a long off-season anyways

I just noticed that Cedar Point's new entrance looks very similar to Elitch Gardens's original entrance! This was before they moved the park.

The most ghetto park I've ever visited was Ölands Djur & Nöjespark, RCDB LINK: http://rcdb.com/4913.htm I visited in 2003 and 2009 and was able to ride all 3 coasters there. It's a zoo/theme park/ water park with the theme park being very low budget carnival flats etc. Ride operators pushing trains through the station, only filling up half the train, strange rules. And this video was taken at the park as well... Speaks for itself.

Just some myths that I hear.... - Girl's hair getting tangled on the cables on drop towers - Getting a nose bleed if you hold your breath for the launch on a coaster - People who are not able to talk, and then go ride a very frightful coaster (Kingda Ka, Intimidator 305, or anything that would make them scream) and then are able to talk. Strange, but I've heard it. - I hear this a lot even though I know it's not true. During American Eagle's helixes, the back car literally sways off the track and hangs over the edge of the track (even though there is a post and hand rail blocking it from even dereailing) - Launched-shuttle coasters being able to launch past a certain speed so that they are capable of flying off one of their spikes (Vertical Velocity, Montezooma's Revenge, etc)
