  1. I have to agree. Even after seeing the aerial shots, the ride appeared to be longer in the POV than I expected. The landscaping looks great, too!
  2. I love it when people hit 'out of the way' parks like this! The park itself might not have the best coasters, but the scenery and greenery look top notch. It looks like such a clam park where people can relax and not worry about anything. And it looks like they take care of your rides, if you say that the SLC is smooth. I'm planning a trip to Peru in the upcoming years, and I may just make a pit stop in Santiago to visit this place. I'm am interested in picking up the credits, but that's not the only reason I'd want to visit the park. Cannot wait to see your other trip reports
  3. Any ideas when they plan on getting Iron Shark open? I know they are testing now, and I'm just hoping it is open for my visit in July. I hope there are no structural problems that would postpone the ride opening.
  4. I'm gonna refrain myself from voting until I've ridden all the Euro-Fighters listed, but I can still admit what my favorite one is. I've been on SpongeBob, Untamed, and Mystery Mine. Mystery Mine is by far my favorite, the theming is the best, and has an awesome finale. The layout is alright, but the theming sets it apart from the other 2 I've ridden. I'd have to say SpongeBob comes in second because it's smoother. It's pretty similar to Untamed, but Untamed was a little rough for a new coaster.
  5. I rode the ride 6 times on the opening weekend to Season Pass holders, and I gotta admit, I was shocked. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would have been, and is one of my favorites at the park. Front row is definitely something to check out, and I also preferred the left side over the right. Even when it has a full queue, it's worth the wait (the wait isn't even an hour) and it is just an all around, well themed ride. Here's a video I made of Saturday, May 12th. Lots of off-ride footage...
  6. Hello, my name is Jeremie, and after experience X-Flight for the first time today, I approve of it.
  7. That's just an effect to show the clearance. It's like that on Raptor in Gardaland too.... Photo Credit: Here
  8. Port Aventura is on my bucket list of parks to visit. Mainly for Furious Baco, but the two B&M's look good too! Dragon Kahn's paint job turned out really nice, especially the vibrant colored trains. The only bad thing about Dragon Kahn is that it's drop is so tiny compared to Shambala, I wish they planned the layout better, but whatever. The photo you posted of Furious Baco on the lake really looks like an actual Mediterranean Town at first glance, so their theming is one of the best! Still have to visit one day... PS. I love your Furious Baco on-ride photo
  9. Bummer that you didn't get to ride Mr. Freeze, as that is the best ride at the park, even better than American Thunder. And we share the same opinion on River King Mine Train, it's far from good, but the lovely terrain turns it into a nice ride. I love your Ninja photos
  10. Hey fellow TPR readers! I am back to update you guys with my first 2012 trip report, which includes Six Flags Great America opening day! There were a lot of changes around the park, some little (new shops) and the obvious (X-Flight). Overall, I felt that the park improved over last year. Paths were cleaned, new staff that were really friendly and knew what they were doing, and stuff like that. The weather was on our side, as it did not rain, but it was cold and foggy. Crowds were typical, with SFGAM's opening day discounts, everyone was rushing to get a season pass (which was the longest line of the day). Most of the rides were the same as last year, East River Crawler is gone for the season, Iron Wolf too. Viper and American Eagle were running as smooth as last year. But for some odd reason, American Eagle's mid-course breaks were off and we were flying through the latter half the ride. I'd just like to say that I had one of the most fun days with the TPR Gang: Jon, Cameron, Griffin, Nathan, Ryan, Jo, and Patrick. As soon as we entered the park, we went to Batman for our first ride of the season. And as soon as we get off, I noticed you can see X-Flight right there. It's weird seeing that there, instead of Deja 'Vu. Taken from V2's station. You see that it was on the verge of raining, but Great America kept the rides going even with the dense fog passing through. Operations were good too. "Screeeeeee!!!" It's just as good without the holding brake. The remains of Iron Wolf's station. I'm glad that they moved the Karaoke away from the Farmer's Market... I was tired of hearing bad singers while eating food. X-Flight. Seriously, this ride looks amazing. You might see the photos and go "Ehhhh, Wild Eagle is better" but this ride is a lot more pretty. ENTRANCE SHOT. This is the fourth inversion on the ride. The park still plans on connecting the trains again, once they get the track installed. This is what it looks like at the moment. You can usually see Chicago from Giant Drop, but it was way to cloudy to see beyond the park. Raging Bull had a full queue, so we didn't ride. Not my favorite ride. Directly vertical drop. Probably a picture everyone takes when they visit SFGAm. Giant Drop had a problem with one of the carts, but operations were good all around the park. SFGAm has the original Batman, which opened in 1992. And since it's now 20 years later, lots of anniversary decorations were put around the ride to commemorate it. For some reason, this train has wheel covers. The other train does not have them for an odd reason. Antique Cars are still here. I hope they do something with the cars, or at least move them somewhere around the park. But by the looks of it, the cars were sitting there all off-season. Here's just a bunch of photos of X-Flight testing. Keyhole element. Drop. (duh) The inversions on this ride are taken by a little slow, but still cool. More shots. The sign! I know, interesting. I don't really know what to say. Viper is new this year, it's a B&M Hyper. Another Raging Bull shot. Here's a ground shot of Hometown Square. By the end of the day, all of the Season Pass craziness died down since the computers shut down. And I feel that Whizzer is a must to including in trip reports. Especially for all the Schwarzkopf lovers out there.
  11. This ride looks so awesome! Well, it may not be the best, but I do appreciate the additional touches. Can't wait, only 8 more days! Even the new B&M Inverted that opened in France?
  12. How does SFGAm add bonus features to Riptide Bay, and now X-Flight? They always know how to please us
  13. I'll be going both days, just in case a sudden rainstorm or the park being too crowded drives me out of the park.
  14. I enjoyed the ride. There's nothing amazing about it, but there wasn't anything bad about it either. On all of my 4 visits, the ride was a walk on, and I managed to get 3 rides on it. I agree that it does feel out of place at Cedar Point, more of a fair ride than a permanent installment. I hope we see a nice addition in it's place.
  15. I already bought a Dollywood season pass for my multiple visits on opening weekend. And I'll be getting a season pass for Six Flags in the next upcoming days.
  16. Animal Kingdom is an alright park. I agree that Dinorama is meh, compared to other Disney areas, especially the Tree of LIfe area. Did you get a chance to ride the Wild Safari, or the Bugs Life ride? It's so fun. Awesome pictures too!
  17. I wish we are able to see how fast it goes through the indoor part of the coaster. I am still in love with the last drop into the final turns. It was great experiencing that on Big Bad Wolf, and the sense of speed you'll get on Verbolten will be awesome.
  18. For me, the best drop on any wooden roller coaster is the Cyclone at Six Flags New England. Rode it on the North East trip last year, and chose to sit in the back. You don't hear much about this coaster on TPR, so I wasn't expecting much. But that first drop was WOW! Intense airtime.
  19. The park looks so pretty, at night, at the top of the Oil Derek. And I have to add that the Scrambler has THE LONGEST cycle I have ever seen.
  20. Fright Fest was so fun last year, and I had an awesome time on every single one of my visits! And as awesome as Iron Wolf was... (hah) X-Flight was more than a worthwhile addition to the park. I'm just wondering what will takes its place in the near future.
  21. It is not.... Would you all like another clue? YES
  22. Still want to know how you came up with this? Nicki Minaj has a song called Roman's Revenge.
