  1. Happy Opening Day, Mumbo Jumbo! Looks like a great little OMG kind of coaster a small park can install and run.
  2. I think I can safely say for the majority of us on the tour, that we loved the parks in Finland (and Finland too!), and really want to come back to all three of them (Power Park, Sarkanniemi, Linnanmaki) in the future.
  3. You did so well with all of the other drop towers (and upshot towers and observation towers) we did on the tour, Jason... We'll coax ya onto this one too, no problem!
  4. I think Across the Universe would make a great visual stage musical, and plplplplease have Julie Taymor again direct and conceive it like she did for the film. And - having never heard any of Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog but having read sooo much good stuff about it in various sites, including this one - decided to finally buy the DVD and the CD soundtrack of it, all at once! And in keeping with theme (I think), also ordered my copy of the Off-Broadway hit musical, The Toxic Avenger. It all seems to fit together, lol. Then "top" things off with some nice musical New Jersey toxic sludge..... mmmm. ...Then listen to the soundtrack recording of it. (o: (o: Will watch this first when I get it from Amazon.com (o:
  5. ^ Or they would have to kill her, and replace her with a less-expensive audio-animatronic... (shout out to The Mouse!) Looking forward to it's eventual creation.
  6. Grona Lund = Awesome park. Awesome park = easy park layout, some nifty flats esp. the two on the waterfront (Octopus & Swings!), the coasters, a great walk-thru Haunted House, a physically-boggling "Fun" House (hah), and lots to look at, eat, and buy. Mmmm. Grona Lund. More please? In another few years or so, when the new stuff's built? ^ And besides the fridge magnets, there are accompanying coffee mugs for each and (most of) every attraction in the park! I got each for Spokhuset, the haunted house walk-thru.
  7. Loved the photos of Liseberg, Robin. And actually, I thought most of the "mash-ups" photos you have here are quite nice to look at, especially the ones with Uppswinget. I only wish the ride itself was a bit longer, once we had 'swung' up to a really great height, lol. Ended too fast. Glad you & Peter could join us for "part of the tour". So with that, I now tell you...go on a full TPR Tour, darnit!. Just echoing SteveC and Ryan and everybody else who's going to tell you the same, heh.
  8. "What A Piece of Work Is Man" New Broadway Cast Recording of HAIR
  9. From what I have read and remembered, this pass is available to residents of Paris (and maybe France, too) only. Proof of residency is needed for the pass application. If you are looking to visit DLPR more than (at least) three times a year, you might want to look into the Fantasy Yearly Pass. There are blackout dates on it, but it cost me less than three visits to the main park, and I ended up using it for 8 trips to the parks, the two weeks I was in Paris! http://www.dlp-guide.com is a good site to check out for up-to-date information on all of the annual passes and regular tickets to the parks. Hope this helps you out.
  10. HAPPY CANADA DAY EVERYBODY!
  11. Flic Flac = And everything else at Tivoli was just great, from Daemonen to Vertigo (Gooooooo FIIIIIVe Gssssssss) to the beautiful lake with gardens nearby and huge hanging baskets areas. Another Star Flyer to ride. The Flying Trunk was bit fast with the tales, but still enjoyable. And the little night laser/smoke show was lovely too. Our backstage coaster tour was fascinating. And Bumper Cars TPR-style was fan-tastic! And yes, we DO ride pinkish purple... octopusses, Chuck. I really enjoyed Tivoli and it's nice to remember that it really was, a great start to our tour. Besides Bon Bon Land (burp). More more more Chuck!
  12. Well, I think I'll certainly be able to tackel "all of the above," that they're going to offer by 2015. So, will wait for Hong Kong Disneyland visit till after that time arrives. It will be worth the wait. I'd like to also add, that sometimes our little coaster riders-to-be need something for their own fun and enjoyment, and speed. ToyStoryLand is for them mainly, with a bit of a thrill thrown in for us ~ The Racer half-pipe ~ parents and non-. And I can't wait to ride the train with stuff on both sides of the track to look at, lol!
  13. ^ Ah that's sad to hear. I was sort of hoping it would stay neck and neck with "Wicked" since they both opened within a few months (July-Oct) of each other in 2003. Oh well. And Mermaid, too. Was interested in seeing how they pulled all the 'underwater' stuff off, onstage. Maybe in a future tour, then. I did get to see "Q" in it's preview weeks in London (2006) and I just loved it! Peed myself silly, lol! Even with the cultural changes (no mention of Gary Coleman) done here and there to the script. It was still a very - very - funny musical. "There's a fine, fine line...."
  14. Congratulations on your new job, Soren! And Dubai looks totally out of my league money-wise, LOL! But it's still a fascinating place to see. Thanks for sharing all your training pix and your recent trip photos.
  15. "I Got Life" from the New Broadway cast Recording of The 2009 Best Musical Revival of H*A*I*R
  16. And I just found out, and ordered of course.... 9 to 5: The Musical ...which will be released on July 28th. "Workin' nine to five, what a way to make a livin'..." - D.Parton, 2009 TONY Nominee for Best Score of a Musical (o:
  17. IKEA was overwhelming! And I bought absolutely nothing there, because... well.... once you start at IKEA, there's just no end to it LOL! And HUGE display floors with a cafe or restaurant on every floor, too. Food shop was pretty GI-normous, as well. Awesome place it was. But me no buy any stuff. (Actually I did pick up the in-store ordering form, the measuring tape AND the 'official' IKEA pencil, LOL! For "cheap souvenirs", yes? No?)
  18. Wanted to let those know who were interested, that the new remake of the Sondheim/Weidman musical "Bounce", now called Road Show, is going to be available tomorrow from Amazon.com and reputable shops I assume. This is the cast recording of the Public Theater production done last year, with Michael Cerveris (Tommy/Assassins/Sweeney Todd) and Alexander Gemignani (Assassins/Sweeney Todd/SundayInParkWithGeorge) in the lead roles, The Mizner Bros. I'm looking forward to listening to it and comparing what was written and changed from the earlier 2003 production/recording. Heard it was a good production. Hopefully that comes out thru the recording, too. (o:
  19. It was great meeting you, Robin. And that first photo of Spin Spider looks really serene against the blue sky. Boo hoo I didn't get the chance to ride it, but the lineup and general timing in our schedule didn't work for me. Oh well, another visit eventually, I guess lol. Looking forward to your photos of "the other park" lol.
  20. A Gin and Tonic for Bill!
  21. Listening to actually good, listenable CDs of theme park music in the house, during the day while on computer or reading, cooking, etc. (Currently listening to Project Euro Mir from Europa Park right now.)
  22. ^ Congratulations on Your First House together! Me and my David have lived in our big old thing for over (gasps) 30 years now! Won't give it up untill we're .... well... you know, lol.
  23. ...Like INSANE at Grona Lund and (what I call Kirnu) Insane, Jr. at Linnanmaki.
  24. OMG That - was - wonderful!!! Thankyou for posting this. ***And I hope he gets nominated for an EMMY, lolol!*** (EDIT to add that was pretty quick and amazing writing, considering how random the winning really was, LOL.)
  25. Having just returned home from the TPR Scandinavian Tour, I taped the TONYS and proceeded to watch them this past Monday night, even though I kind of already found out, while on tour, that Billy Elliot had won for Best Musical. But other than that, I really didn't know who won what until four nights ago! That said... I agree that the sound for the opening number, and in a few other spots, musical and non- was ridiculous. I mean, I know and realize that they are tight with rehearsal times at Radio City, what with every show on the boards having it's own schedule to deal with, etc. But jeez! I just thought that this should have never happened, of all things. But then, I do remember that awards shows are sometimes notorious for their 'sound problems' when it comes to live numbers and such. Still, it was sad to 'hear' that happen, right out of the gate. And - I didn't tape enough to the end of it all! ARRRRRRRRRRGGHHH!!! Hmmmph. Liza was about to announce the nominees for Best Musical and then - the tape stopped and that was that. So not only did I miss the whole deal happening after she announced that Elliot had won, but then there's this closing number that Harris did, I am really wanting to see/hear. Did it show up on YouTube, or can somebody post that closing segment here? Thanks in advance for any of the above, made available. And Geoffrey Rush's acceptance speech was just awesome!
